Located in Florence south on via di ripoli (not far from varlungo bridge and coop gavinana) this is a beautiful tucked away wine bar with a great vibe the second you walk inside. I actually live only 10 minutes away and never knew this place existed and I am very happy that I now do since this will be somewhere I would love to bring friends.
Inside the decor is very cozy and warm, while small, there were plenty of tables, and areas to hang out and sit they have live music - there happened to be a really great singer that was singing songs I was used to hearing back home which was awesome. The mix of people ranged from late 20's to 40's and the staff working there were very friendly, they even gave us small mini-pannettone.
I went during aperitivo hour and the selection of wine was more than decent. My Italian friends have told me the cocktails are really good too so I may have to try that next time. The aperitivo was better than average, while crowded (there was an event) the night I was there the food that I tried was really good - made with good ingredients, not easy to find these days in the aperitivo world where cold salads made with tuna seem to be the norm..
Aperitivo was 7/8 euros and the only downside is the wine per glass is a bit expensive for the area; though the more wine you drink, each glass decreases a euro in price which is great. I would like to come back for lunch, the food is Tuscan and right up my alley.
HIghly recommend, great hidden "find" in Florence! read more
