The cakes are phenomenal, but the customer service is poor. The set up of the bakery on Burnt Mill Road is misleading for customers. If you place an order ahead of time and schedule a pick up, you still have to wait in line with everyone else who is picking out a premade bakery item on the shelf and who may also want customization. Previously, there was a separate line for pick-up only. We were scolded by employees when we waited in what we thought was the "pick up line". There was a decent amount of us in the line and that was the previous set-up of the store. Signs are misleading or non-existent. Employees are less than friendly to help. Been going here for 5 years, but the new set up means placing an order a head of time does not mean you can walk in and pick up. On busy days, allot 30-45 min. to pick up a cake order. read more

In addition to Cannoli cake- they have various other predetermined cake flavors to choose from. Or you can order a Bacarian cake- three layers of either chocolate or yellow cake & your choice of two layers of filling. Check out the website for a full list of flavor offerings. When I needed a cake for my daughter's bridal shower my first thought was Sweet Eats vanilla cake w raspberry cream filling and buttercream icing. Since it's my daughters favorite I knew that was what I would order. I was also able to get the bottom cake 1/2 chocolate. I wanted a 2 tier cake w fresh flowers on it. The cake designer told me to bring the flowers in two days prior to delivery and they would place them on the cake. The results were beyond my wildest expectations!! I don't think I can truly convey how much I love cake. Lol. My husband knows. So, I went to SE to get a 7" vanilla/chocolate cake. It wasn't bad. It's just not what I like. It's a spongey cake and the frosting is very light. I prefer a more dense cake- almost like a pound cake and a sweet buttercream frosting. After I gave my mom's contact information, the person helping us joked "if we call her, will she answer in English?" and laughed. We started shopping around for wedding cakes at a very well-known shop in Collingswood. They quoted us over $500 for a "naked style" cake, which was absurd. Several friends recommended Sweet Eats (actually, they raved about it multiple times) so that was our next stop. We were THRILLED with the results! While they don't do "naked style" cakes because the cake would dry out (I appreciated that honesty), they offered another treatment that was equally as rustic and beautiful. They offered to use flowers from my florist to decorate it to perfection. The consultant explained that we could have different varieties of fillings, coatings, and cake flavors in each tier of the cake, which was super fun! It was all so delicious, and the price came in at nearly half of what the other guys quoted us. They all looked delicious but I decided on the chocolate chip cookie dough cake. The cake is vanilla with a cream and chocolate chip filling. On top of the cake are small, round white chocolate chips made to look like a chocolate chip cookie (or a Cookie Crisp...). The cake was a hit with everyone at the party. The cake was a 12 inch round and cost around $20. I also picked up a pack of candles and was surprised at the large variety of candles for children and adults. If what you are looking for is a traditional sheet cake do yourself a favor and come here otherwise look elsewhere. I wanted to order a barbie dress cake where you have an actual barbie and the dress is made out of cake. I had a picture of what I wanted and there was no suggesting it was more of this is the dress we make we can change the colors. I have never been to bakery that does not try work with you. Well, I won't lie, I always loved their cakes, but since they do cost a ton, I don't go here often. My mom's 50th birthday is different, though! I went about a month and a half early to place my order, and had so many options to choose from in their lookbook! Then I had to decide on the many flavors, which I was unaware of... while I agree that their customer service isn't the warmest welcome at all (some people, not everyone--however, they were still very professional, which is important); their cakes do make up for it. I think I got the half chocolate, half vanilla on the bottom and a dark chocolate (almost black-forest) on top! The bottom had frangelica with nuts and white chocolate buttercream, while the top had chocolate ganache and whipped buttercream or Bavarian cream. I paid half down for placing the order and the other half when I picked it up. Cost me ~300 or so but we'll worth it because they hand roll the chocolate cigars and the detail-work on the soft-icing roses was impeccable. Seriously. Two tiers of wonderful!! It was the largest one they could make, could feed 75 people--we had a guest list of 93, but about half showed, so we had extras for sure, and everyone was happy! The girl who helped me bring the cake to the car was a sweetheart, and they were wonderful overall. Their stuff is addicting, even if they are a bit of a drive away...
