The Americano was good as was the chocolate croissant. The downside was the chocolate chip cookie. I don't know if it was frozen after baking or just old. It was horrible. How to use the restroom and they hadn't cleaned the toilet and at least a week or two. Yuck... anytime the bathroom is not clean I wonder about the kitchen. read more

Stopped in for a quick coffee after taking a walk on the riverfront. This place is so cuuute! I'd call it a real coffee place, a good selection and they know what you're asking for. I like that they make a dirty chai, a real one without all that sugar. The people inside look like regulars and the staff even greeted some customers by name. The woman at the counter was so kind and even asked if I wanted regular milk. Dear, kind woman, whatever your name is, You have saved me from a day of feeling awful. As someone who has recently become lactose intolerant, and often forgets, because well, it's morning and I'm sans coffee. I just can't thank you enough! The cafe has a ton of interesting pies small and large, sweet and savory. While I'm not someone who can eat gluten any longer, they were so cute! The pies looked authentic and delicious, I could totally see one of these being a perfect option for a birthday instead of cake. Adorable! read more

We were nearby waiting for Jen's pastry to open, looking for a coffee shop. We are very happy this one showed up, right across the street. The black sesame latte is what caught my attention, and that is what I ordered. It was very good, and my wife had a mocha and it was also very good. Two things really stood out. Black sesame croissant. And the owner, being so friendly and chatting with us. We had a very nice conversation, you can tell this is not a starbucks. He also said bye to customers by name.... wow. We learned they named the shop after their toy poodle, that's a sign of a loving person, right? The croissant was different than most others, in a very good way. I do recall tasting something similar one other place. Seattle bakery nouveau twice baked croissant, damn! Most croissants are light and puffy, this was very crispy and buttery. It was warm still, with the black sesame inside and on top.... . I'm never tasted this before. Go check them out and give them some support. read more

Amazing! thank goodness they only had a few pies when we went, otherwise, I would have gone broke! Beef curry pie alone earned them a spot on "must eat when in Portland" list. I am a longtime pie baker and owned my own bakery for several years. I make a super flaky crust and excellent fillings and I enjoy the process. This Thanksgiving I had to prioritize what I cooked, so I let go of the pies and asked someone to order here. This was our first time trying Sweet Coco G. We enjoyed a phenomenal Maple Pumpkin pie that was so good, I may order next year too! Their cinnamon rolls are legendary so get there early. Today I stopped in just before 11am and they were gone. I bought a big slice of cinnamon coffee cake that more than satisfied my craving. Brownies, 7 layer magic bars, rolled fruit & oat bars, cookies, fruit gallettes, butter croissants - they bake it all and everything is divine! They even make bourbon pecan pies and spiced apple pies. Not just for Thanksgiving and holidays, all the time! The pies change seasonally and you can purchase a slice or whole pie. What I received was a sickly sweet confection and a drink of what I would describe as coloured water; surely the weakest coffee I have purchased. I wish I could report better things however, here we go. I ordered the pepper steak hot panini, it's nothing more than a crunchy roast beef hero with Mayo and pepper jack cheese. Truly disappointed, I don't eat plain Mayo however this was supposed to be "garlic mayo ", absolutely no hint of garlic at all. Cinnamon roll was bland (how does that even happen). My boyfriend got the ham & cheese croissant, he said it was "good, that's it". Delicious chai - the place has amazing pastries and the service was quick and attentive! I appreciated being able to work and sit outside!

I was really excited to try this place out! Upon walking in we were greeted, and there was also a huge menu right on the wall. There was a ton of different options for drinks and sandwiches. Overwhelmed with the options I stick to my safe choice of an iced white mocha. I got a 24oz with oat milk. My husband got a cortado. They have an amazing display of different baked items, they looked soooo good! We decided to split their butter croissant. They had no seating inside at the moment, but they had quite a few tables to sit outside! Thankfully covered seating since it was raining! Haha. I really enjoyed my iced white mocha, and my husband said his cortado was good also! The butter croissant was really the star of the show. The croissant was massive! And it was so delicious with a nice flakey-ness to it! We almost went to to get another! We really enjoyed this cute little coffee shop. My husband came home with a delicious cherry galette about a couple of months ago from their Macadam location. It was amazing! We were in the area yesterday and decided to drop in. We bought peanut butter cookies and a slice of their cherry almond pie. The cookies were fantastic, but the pie was out of this world. My husband and I just bought one piece to share. I really didn't want to share with him. We both said that next tine we're buying a whole pie. It really is that good. The staff/owners are very friendly.
