Yeah, the owner had a nice little business selling game an outstanding variety of game console cartridges...and then he got bit by the pinball bug. So, in his store, he has 24 pinball machines, three cabaret style machines (Galaga, Centipede, Ms.Pac Man), two multigame machines (an iCade 60 gamer, and another that features about 100? vertical scrolling Japanese "maniac shooters..." if those are your thing. There's a Crazy Taxi game, too). The pins range in price from 12.5 cents per play (two credits for a quarter, arithmetic wiz), to a buck per play. Here's the key...every game that I played was in good or excellent condition! What an cool variety of games, he has. Newest game? Jurassic Park (2019) by Stern. Flagship game? Lazer X is so fun. It has the biggest laser tag arena I've ever seen or played in. Even the area where you suit up with your laser gun and watch a movie about the rules of the game is cool. I played two games back to back, and both games had at least 20 to 30 people. The arena is so huge that even that number of people seemed like a small amount. Beyond laser tag, there's also an arcade with lots of video games, skee ball, dance games and other things to do. It's very dark inside Lazer X, but your eyes quickly adjust. When it comes time to leave Lazer X, though, you're in for a rude awakening: It's hella bright outside! Agh! My two young children had a blast. We probably could have stayed here for hours, but we only dropped by for an hour and a half. But we packed a lot in during that time. Combat Ops has a huge laser tag arena, an area to have Nerf battles, a laser maze, miniature golf, miniature bowling, outdoor axe throwing, an arcade, and an eatery area with local beer. It's basically the perfect place to bring your kids and relax while they play (or join in the fun -- whatever you want to do). I would say that most of the games and entertainment is geared toward older kids and teens (and adults). For instance, my younger child wasn't able to do the laser tag because the guns were a bit heavy for his little arms. But that was pretty much the only thing, other than axe throwing, that he couldn't do. Younger kids would love the miniature bowling, because the balls are small and can fit in a little hand. The miniature golf was also a favorite because what little kid doesn't like putt-putt golf?! My personal favorite was the Nerf arena. We booked a half hour, and they make you watch a safety video, then tell you the rules, and then have you put on safety glasses and let you pick out a Nerf weapon. There is always someone walking around to make sure everyone is playing safely. As a mom who worries about everything, I appreciated all of the extra steps Combat Ops takes to make sure everyone is safe! They aren't obtrusive about it -- just insistent, which I like. The person monitoring our session suggested some games that we could play, which made the experience even more fun. We had a great time playing capture the flag and freeze tag with our Nerf guns. Another favorite of ours was the laser maze. You step into a foggy room, and try to get from one side to the other without tripping the lasers. I think we did the laser maze at least six times! It was a lot of fun. My kids didn't want to leave this place when it was time to go, and they're already talking about how they want to come back for their birthday. Combat Ops really is a super fun place for families, and my family can't wait to go back.
