This is what I call a country-club mini-golf course; i.e., it features no windmills or clowns but…read moreis set up more like a real golf course. There are water, sand, and rock hazards, doglegs, and undulations. Many holes require banking off a side-slope rather than traditional ricocheting; in fact, ricochets are a crap shoot here because most of the bumpers are curved and made of short bricks, so there are any number of unpredictable deflections that can occur. Some of the bumpers have open spots into the "ponds" and "creeks" so that you really have to be careful how you direct the tee shot. That being said, it's not a terribly difficult course. Par is 40 and I came in at 43 (I managed to stay out of the hazards, a couple of times by mere luck). One problem--they have flag pins which they require you to leave in. Twice I hit the stick on my first shot, and I consider that a robbery of a potential hole-in-one! The course is a lot of fun if you are satisfied with reading a tricky fairway and giving it your best shot. If you want gimmicks, you won't find them here. The maintenance is decent: no worn spots on the carpet, very few bits of small debris on the course, nice landscaping. There was plenty of running water here but it smelled of sulphur. The balls and clubs are in good condition, too. One other neat thing--at each tee they have a trivia question about the state of Ohio. The answers are printed on the back of the scorecard. Nice touch. I was there on Labor Day around 1:30-2 pm and there were only three couples ahead of me and one family of five following. I'm used to having to wait at most mini-golf courses. All in all, for $5 this is a good time and a great value.

My two young children had a blast. We probably could have stayed here for hours, but we only dropped by for an hour and a half. But we packed a lot in during that time. Combat Ops has a huge laser tag arena, an area to have Nerf battles, a laser maze, miniature golf, miniature bowling, outdoor axe throwing, an arcade, and an eatery area with local beer. It's basically the perfect place to bring your kids and relax while they play (or join in the fun -- whatever you want to do). I would say that most of the games and entertainment is geared toward older kids and teens (and adults). For instance, my younger child wasn't able to do the laser tag because the guns were a bit heavy for his little arms. But that was pretty much the only thing, other than axe throwing, that he couldn't do. Younger kids would love the miniature bowling, because the balls are small and can fit in a little hand. The miniature golf was also a favorite because what little kid doesn't like putt-putt golf?! My personal favorite was the Nerf arena. We booked a half hour, and they make you watch a safety video, then tell you the rules, and then have you put on safety glasses and let you pick out a Nerf weapon. There is always someone walking around to make sure everyone is playing safely. As a mom who worries about everything, I appreciated all of the extra steps Combat Ops takes to make sure everyone is safe! They aren't obtrusive about it -- just insistent, which I like. The person monitoring our session suggested some games that we could play, which made the experience even more fun. We had a great time playing capture the flag and freeze tag with our Nerf guns. Another favorite of ours was the laser maze. You step into a foggy room, and try to get from one side to the other without tripping the lasers. I think we did the laser maze at least six times! It was a lot of fun. My kids didn't want to leave this place when it was time to go, and they're already talking about how they want to come back for their birthday. Combat Ops really is a super fun place for families, and my family can't wait to go back.

I found Swing Time Sports Center a few years ago while looking for driving ranges in Findlay. It's…read moreone of only two dedicated driving ranges in Findlay, the other being Shady Grove. Swing Time has three parts, the Driving range, the batting cages, and the Putt putt course. I believe the batting cages are the only ones in Findlay. I've never used them but they seem to be pretty popular in spring. The Putt putt course is very nice. It's challenging without being too hard for the little ones. Now for the driving range. I use the driving range most frequently by far. There are a few reasons why this range is superior to Shady Grove. The number one reason I come here is the price. It's $5 for 2 tokens and $10 for four. Two tokens will fill a large basket easy. What I normally do is come in on Monday, buy four tokens for $10 and use two while I'm there and come back on Wednesday and use the other two. The second biggest reason is that the range faces east. Shady faces west and in the spring and fall you can't see your ball at all as you are hitting directly into the sun after about 5:30 PM. I can't tell you how nice it is to not have to fight the sun those times of the year. Another big plus is that there is a bucket of water and a brush just behind the grass tees to clean your clubs after you've hit. They regularly move their ropes for the grass tees to keep them nice as well. Now I don't know why they do this but for the last two years the green mats in the "indoor" section have been stacked up in a corner and they will not let you hit off them, stating that they are closed. I also don't know how accurate the yardages are, it kind of depends on where you are on the tees. This range also has some interesting props, including a bell, a brightly painted car tipped up at a 45 degree angle, and an orange cone on top of a hill. Also I'm pretty sure this place is cash only. I'm not 100% sure but I've only ever paid in cash and have never seen anybody pay with a card, but then again I don't watch how everybody pays. Overall Swing Time is a great place for everyone! The Putt put course is very kid friendly and is also inviting if you're looking for a cheap date activity. The driving range and batting cages are also great for working on your game or just to blow off some steam. There are only a few minor drawbacks but nothing that would discourage me from recommending it.

By Christina Rigel:…read more "On Saturday October 20th Robert Ratliff, Sarah Ann Ratliff, Michael Leitzke and I drove an hour and a half to go to Fast Track GoKarts in Fort Wayne. We were hoping to enjoy a fun evening of indoor go karting at a place we'd never been. When we arrived we took some time to look over the price menu, decide what package we wanted and bought Groupons. While Robert was in the bathroom and Michael was sitting at a table near by, Sarah and I approached the counter to sign up and fill out whatever waivers were necessary. I showed my phone to the lady behind the counter, Stephanie, and explained we had bought Groupons and wanted to sign up and pay with them. She immediately FREAKED out. No, I'm not exaggerating... the video is proof in itself. She claimed we owed her money and we had already rode the go karts. She also said WE need to pay for a guy who was on the track at the time who hadn't paid. We repeatedly tried explaining that we were not with the other people, it was just us 4 and that we had not rode any go karts yet. She would not listen. I tried to speak to other workers. They refused to listen. She threw everything that was on the counter at us, called us horrible names repeatedly and even tried to rip Michael's wallet out of his hand! All of this was captured on their surveillance cameras by the way Time passed and the cops never showed up. I ended up calling. We spoke with the officer, told him what was going on and he then spoke with Stephanie and watched the video footage. Meantime the owner also showed up. Turns out Stephanie never called the cops and according to the officer she couldn't keep her story straight (as you can hear in the videos). Although the owner was hesitant, he did apologize. He was very confused by everything going on. I don't blame him. We are all still confused! He offered us a chance to stay and have a good time. We decided not to stay and left peacefully. I am not posting this to bash this business. I am posting this because Stephanie was harassing my friends and I and, honestly, she should feel ashamed!!" The video is on Facebook under Christina Rigel. It sounds like Stephanie is on drugs. She's out of control. And a MANAGER.
