Went here with the family and had a blast. The wine we tried was amazing and so was the environment. I definitely recommend trying it out!

Amazing locale and views, but not nearly as intimate and welcoming as their neighbor Silvan Ridge. This would be a great venue for a wedding and I really enjoyed their cheese plate. For about $16, it served 6 of us. There wasn't a wine that stood out to me as magnificent. The girls at the counter were beautiful but not really that interested in serving you. Some seemed rather irritated actually. Sweet Cheeks was not as generous with their wine pours either. It was hard to get the sommeliers' attention. Maybe that's why I spent 5 times as much at Silvan Ridge. I'd come again for the views and cheese, and I'd seek in a bottle from Silvan Ridge ;-) read more

So over this summer my wife and I are going to become wine tasting pros....I wont be able to give 5 stars until I have other wineries to compare to, but for now Sweet Cheeks gets 4 stars from me. My wife first came out here for the start of her bachelorette party and really wanted to come check it out again. We didn't get to stay too long being our daughter had terrible naps that day and she was wanting to run through the vineyards and was rather upset that we didn't let her! None the less, we both tasted a few different wines. The servers behind the counter were very nice and professional. They were quick to pour and eager to help find a wine. We got a bottle of the Rosey Cheeks (my wife's favorite) and a bottle of the Semi-Sweet Riesling for 24 bucks. I personally LOVED the drive out. Reminds me of living in the country when I was yonger. We are looking forward to summer, the drive will be that much nicer with warm temps and sunny days. Also, they were kid friendly which was nice. We didn't know if we would be allowed to go in with our daughter, but they didn't mind one bit. Our experience was a great one, and we're going back soon! read more

This place is incredible. The girls working are so friendly and the wines are delicious. Plus I love crows! This place has plenty of cute crows decorating its interior. The place is also absolutely gorgeous. My boyfriend joined the wine club, which is awesome because prior to meeting me he hated wine. Rosy Cheeks is his favorite wine and the Pinot Noir is great, so we're both satisfied. :) He loved the white wine flight and I was extremely happy with my red flight. We lucked out and there was live music and a Southern food truck there on our visit. It was so much fun. I guess the food truck is there every other Friday. It's definitely a good time with friends or your significant other. Sweet Cheeks is officially my favorite winery. :) read more

Went for mimosa Sunday. Live local music, fireplaces lit, and they allow you to bring food. We ordered a few bottles of wine for our table each bottle was superb. Views were tremendous. Best Sunday place to go. read more

I have been to Sweet Cheeks before with friends. It is always nice to go up, try their new wines, and buy a few bottles. They are wise in that if you like the blush, you can only get it THERE, so you have to go up and check them out once in a while! Great idea! And it is nice that they think enough of their steady customers to save something special for us! They do a great cheese tray with the wine if you'd like, and it is all local cheeses. I love cheese and it is nice to have something to snack on as you sip. The patio area is BEAUTIFUL (It was raining last time, and so we had to sit indoors.) It's a very low stress, unpretentious experience. These people realize wine is not so much about the wine, as it is the experience and the conversation that surrounds it. Their tasting list is very long, and it is FREE. They don't act as if you are stealing from them when you are getting to know their wines. The only three things I'd change are: More servers behind the bar so we can get our tasting done and get to enjoying a bottle. Better cheese cutters. And longer hours--if the place is full at 6 pm, it would be good to change your hours to 7 or so! You are popular, make the most of that! Lovely place, love dropping in! read more

Sweet Cheeks Winery is beautiful with a fun interior and good food. I visited for a Sunday brunch featuring the Eugene Orchestra and it was a lovely morning. We did not actually try any wine, so I can't comment on that. Supposely, Sweet Cheeks allows you to bring your own picnics to enjoy alongside some wine and the beautiful scenery - which is stunning by the way. The outdoor patio area is really great with plenty of seating, fountains, and cute little lamps as if you were in Europe. You have a great view of the vineyards. Inside the decor is fun with animal paintings and the bathrooms are very clean. The food we had that day was delicious for a serve-yourself-buffet. I don't know if it was provided by Sweet Cheeks or another establishment, but our overall experience was great. One downside was sitting outside we were surrounded by 10+ bees who wanted to join us in eating brunch. It was incredibly distracting and we weren't the only table affected by them. While it's a minor inconvenience and I'm not sure what could be done to change it, that's definitely worth noting. I'd highly encourage you to go visit Sweet Cheeks to enjoy an afternoon in the Willamette Valley! read more

Nice day, thought I would drive out and enjoy a glass of wine. Well, nope. After walking up the hill, there is only 1 handicapped space at the top of the hill so if walking through a gravel parking lot and up a hill isn't your thing ... get there early I guess. Then I stood at the patio bar where I was promptly ignored until I gave up and walked away, back down the hill. Hey saved me some money, I had my eye on the $48 a bottle red, maybe a thank you is in order. So ... get there early and be prepared to just stand around and wait ... a lot. Sounded like a lot more fun than it turned out to be. read more

First, giving my spouse a red Solo cup twice for his beer was a rip-off. You said there weren't any beer pints but we saw you give them to others both before and after our orders. You basically treated us like we were less than other customers and the cost of the flights was ridiculous too. The only good one was Rosy Cheeks...I'll never go back again. I'll stick to Silvan Ridge, at least they treated us like people and not second class citizens. read more

This review is only based on the 2019 vintage Riesling. I favor riesling above all others, & Sweet Cheeks riesling is superior to many I have had. I am newly widowed, which means I am looking for things to do, to keep my mind off my circumstances, and plan to visit the winery for the first time. read more

This is an amazing gem! The wine was average, and not as good as other places, however, I loved their Rose wine. Had to buy a bottle. The wine tasting was complimentary, and the views of the valley and hills were breathtaking. It's located near "crow", OR so the black raven is the mascot. Wonderful place that I'd recommend a pilgrimage to. Staff were friendly folk, and the atmosphere was more than pleasant. Loved this place. Hope to go again! read more

Friends brought me here for some wine tasting and local flavor. This is wonderful sweet wine, with a wonderful cheese sampling bar to boot! Their wine varies from sweet white desert wine to pinot noir. I don't claim to be a wine snob, but this was quite delightful. They even let you bring your own picnic, have fires outside with surrounding tables, and a high view over the surrounding valley. read more

My friends and I ventured out on a Friday night. It was my first visit but many of my friends were wine club members. Apparently they have been very welcoming to dogs in the past, but this night, not so much. We of course were apologetic, and we followed all of their requests. I don't know if it was the dogs or the fact that we were all under 50, but the service staff treated us like lepers. About 7 of the group shared 2 bottles of wine, and a few of us wanted one more glass a piece. The bartender leaned in and said, "I'm worried about you, I'm sorry I can't serve you--we're responsible for you." Thank you ma'am but my designated driver did not even have a drop, and I know that the 15 of us just brought you a nice amount of business. At the end of the evening we were tidying up our food and the staff continued to "check" on us several times--as in open the door and stare. There were still plenty of people inside--it's not like we were keeping them there. Don't worry Sweet Cheeks, I will never bother you with my business again. read more

A colleague/friend celebrated her birthday in the tasting room of this winery. Her family including her beautiful son along with the children of her small group of friends were welcomed in the drinking establishment...and I thought that was cool. Sweet Cheeks also allowed for outside food to be brought in and had free tastings. I wasn't a fan of their 2007 Pinot Noir because it came on too tart for my taste, but I surprisingly enjoyed the sample of their rose (Rosy Cheeks) that I bought a glass of it to accompany the snacks and cake we brought for my friend's gathering. And even though the rain kept us inside and away from their Tuscan-inspired outdoor seating, the breathtaking view of the vineyards wasn't at all missed from the tasting room's hilltop setting . Seated close to their fireplace, sipping my wine and enjoying the company of new friends was the highlight of my experience. This wouldn't have been possible, of course, without Sweet Cheeks' warm welcome and catering to our needs. As far as the tasting experience itself, I would've liked more interaction from the pourers. Though pleasant, and able to answer a few questions about the varietals, they also seemed reserved and distant. There was no open suggestion that I would've expected after one of my friends from the party stated she preferred something sweeter and didn't know if any reds would suit her taste...c'mon Sweet Cheeks pourers...you've got have something sweet....yeah, a couple were on the tastings menu, but she said this out loud before the first glass...you gotta be open to educating and a bit of entertaining; wine tasting should be fun and exciting. read more

One of my three favorite wineries near Eugene (the others being Sarver and King Estate). Not wild about their wines, tho the Pinot Gris and vintage "champagne" are really nice. But there's a beautiful large terrace and a spacious beamed tasting room. Gorgeous views, you can bring a picnic and have a glass or a bottle from the bar. Lots of music & events here too. read more

A group of us go here every year for their summer solstice concert to hear a wonderful Jamaican reggae singer Norma Fraser. We heard that they are not having her there anymore which saddens us because she packs this place when she performs and really bring the crowd out and her performance is dynamic, entertaining and what a powerful, soulful voice!!!. Sweet Cheeks wine is not that good we only come here to see her. Needless to say we won't be going there this year we just heard she will be performing at another winery in June At Domaine Meriwether so we are excited and will definitely go there instead. read more

It has a beautiful atmosphere and is well taken care of. It is perfect for a girls day or for a date evening with your significant other. They have lots of different wines to choose from and their quality is on point. They have snacks available that look pretty delicious as well. However, when I went on a busy Monday, I was less than impressed with the service. I had to wait quite some time for tasting fills while the worker was answering questions about a wedding occurring in May, then running out to her car, then going up stairs, all the while other customers were waiting to be helped as well. Another worker came to the tasting room as I stood there while waiting for my turn to be served and she said "sorry, I'm working up stairs today" as a reason as to why she didn't want to help us. Customer service should ALWAYS be a priority. By the time our forth tasting was done I just wanted to leave. It wasn't worth the wait. I was very disappointed by the service but in all honesty will probably be back to try them again because it really is a beautiful winery in the heart of Oregon. Hopefully it was just an off day for them. read more

Rude, very rude, staff, uppity atmosphere, mediocre wines. Several of my friends have experienced less than pleasant treatment by the staff. My experience was also more than disappointing. Their wine is not good enough that it's worth putting up with such service! The staff need to remember that selling and pouring wine does not socially elevate them in any way, all money is good, and they weren't terribly knowledgeable beyond the basics that any novice could pick up from a cheap guide book. This is Eugene, the country side is so beautiful along territorial highway, there is no need to waste your time here! If you want a beautiful hill side view (which is only the really good thing they have to offer) the comes with better wine at great prices, and fantastic food, King estate is a short ride away, fantastic service (they offered us blankets shortly after our meal to keep the chill off!) and beautiful views. Alternatively, if you don't need the hill side perch, and truly love red wine, check out the winery across the highway from Sweet cheeks, Sylvan ridge is nestled at the bottom of that hill. They offer brilliant service, lovely wine, relaxed and charmed atmosphere, made my day!! read more

I have been to Sweet Cheeks several times, this one being the most disappointing. The main issue was the girl working, she was just unfriendly and sat on her butt until she was forced to get up. The staff is not always super friendly here, but she was pretty awful. Not welcoming and for each tasting we had to go inside to her, she did not once come to check on us, and we bought several plates of food as well, not just a tasting. Her pours were also the smallest I have had at a tasting. The other two issues were one - the yellow jackets were intense, nothing was being done that we could see to control the bee situation. Two - They were also doing construction which was very loud. Seemed odd to do construction while customers are there, especially when you open at noon and can do quite a bit before people start coming. read more

We had a great experience at Sweet Cheeks! It's a beautiful winery about 20 minutes from Eugene and well worth it. The drive is beautiful and the wine they have is delicious, especially with the price point. We did the seasonal tasting, ended up getting a bottle of rosé, as well as a salami and olive platter (was pre-made so nothing crazy fancy, but an nice little snack). Michelle was the one taking care of us and definitely was the cherry on top of our pleasant experience! She was so friendly, knowledgable, funny, and had answers to every question we asked. Needless to say, we ended up becoming wine club members at the end of the day! Would come back here every time I'm in Eugene! read more

Love this winery, one of my favorites in town. However, one of the workers was super rude tonight for absolutely no reason at all. Other than this specific ass who was trying to go for the Bruno Mars look, who got super pissed about me closing the front door to be keep flies from coming in, great winery. I am a Eugene resident, and Sweet Cheeks is my favorite out of quite a few local wineries. The atmosphere here is relaxed and friendly, and the wines are excellent. Unlike some of the local wineries, you are free to bring your own food to pair with the wines, and this is a favorite activity of our little wine loving group. We take our own feast and just add the wonderful Sweet Cheeks wines to make the meal complete. If you are local, join the wine club and elect to pick up your wine rather than have it shipped. This gives you a regular excuse to visit about 4 times per year. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, you won't be disappointed. read more

I think no one will complain about the gorgeous setting, the ambiance of the tasting room or the ample parking. And in my 15 or so visits over the past three years, I have yet to have any problems with the service or staff. They have always been amiable and courteous. If you *ASK* for opinions on the wine, they happily give them, or defer to someone with more knowledge. The wine is good, and occasionally very good, but also occasionally so-so. Two bottles we purchased we returned as unsatisfactory. That would be out of maybe 50 or 60 bottles purchased; the management was happy to offer a refund or exchange. We have had two wines there that I found truly outstanding: the 2008 Estate Pinot Gris. Terrific. And the 2008 Tempranillo was very nice, as well. As for the "long, winding" road? The winery is LITERALLY an 18 minute drive from Eugene, and since it sits on the hill of a side valley, yes there is a 1.5 mile winding section of the road. This IS a farmland area, people, and only 15 miles from the center of Eugene. I fear people in this small burg do not appreciate all it has to offer within very short distances. All in all, this is a very wonderful winery, that offers good to excellent wine. read more

The grounds are fairly pretty, the service was really good...but...the food selections were a bit scarce, and pricey especially for being served in a clam-shell plastic container. There are a couple of wine selections that are plum decent, but the majority of the wines are pretty mediocre. The Pinot, blend are good, the Tempranillo is decent, but most selections aren't so great. Stay away from the Malbec!! read more

I enjoyed the free tasting here. The winery building seems pretty new and looks like other California wineries. The staff was polite but not super chatty, although it could have been the white stretch limo full of bachelorettes that were there also at the time. The outdoor seating is nice and there is a beautiful view. They sell a boxed lunch picnic that would have been tempting had we been there later. read more

This is a really fun winery to go with particularly gorgeous views. I liked everything we tried.

We stopped in here for a quick tasting and ended up staying for 1-1/2 hours because they were so nice and talkative. The tasting room has a cool view of the hills (probably spectacular when its not raining). I guess it is a pretty new winery (less than 3 years), but they have some good wine there already. We asked about the name "Sweet Cheeks" and were told that the winery sits on 2 hills (resembling a butt) and the tasting room sits on the left cheek. There is little fountain statue of a kid (the fountain is the kid peeing into the fountain bowl) when you enter the property....his name: Pinot. They dress him up depending on the time of the year and their mood, etc. So he had a Santa costume on in December and medical scrubs when an employee (or the owner, I forgot which) had surgery. It is right down the highway from Eugene and Kings Estate (a bigger one in the area). Tastings are free too!!! read more

The estate Pinot has a dusty nose and it's pretty well balanced (kind of pricey though, but "Life is too short for bad wines", so what the heck). The rest of the wines have too high of an acidity. Love their picnic area. I used to go there almost every weekend for the views and the pinot. They have a cute dog too. Makes for a nice romantic picnic. read more

Love sitting out on the patio in the summer. It's a beautiful area, great view, and perfect way to spend a Friday eve (they have live music usually). I believe they bring a food truck in every Friday, so you can get some great food, since they only offer light fare, cheese plates, etc. Only 4 stars because personally, I'm not a huge fan of their wine, but the atmosphere can't be beat. Their sparkling is pretty good. Low-key area, definitely family/pet friendly, you can bring your own picnic/dinner. This is a no-snob zone. read more
