I found the chocolate here to be considerably sweeter than other shops. While it wasn't my favorite, they did a great job in creativity. We dropped in on a Saturday evening (around 6:15pm) and got lucky calling for reservations the day of. Highly recommend making reservations as we saw the staff reject multiple walk-ins. The service was respectable but sadly, there's no tap water available. The menu consists of starters, fish, meat and a "tourist menu" (aka. three course set menu). - Gueuze (€4,00) - a quaffable, enjoyable lambic beer. Got a hint of a fruity note (apparently grapefruit). - Brugs tarwe (wheat beer) (€4,00) - Flemish beef stew (€18,50) - our buddy enjoyed this dish. - 3x Tourist menu (€18,50) - this is the best bang for your buck as you get a soup of the day (tomato), meat with fries and salad (option of steak, half a chicken, pork chop or salmon) and dessert (vanilla ice cream, sorbet (ask if you're lactose intolerant) or profiteroles). We went with the steak, pork chop and salmon. Oddly, they didn't ask for our steak preference. It was cooked medium and was slightly overcooked. Pork chop was worse; dry and bland. Our friend liked her salmon. Fries were standard fare. Salad was overdressed and you barely get a handful. The best thing was the tomato soup which had good depth and came with bread. The vanilla ice cream wasn't memorable but the profiteroles with chocolate sauce were better. Nothing that will blow you away but okay. One of the cheaper table d'hotes we found but the food was hit and miss. Would I come back? I don't think so.

Oyya also has ice cream so my wife ordered her waffle with ice cream and I had mine with caramel sauce. All I can say is WOW. I've never had a waffle so good. Full of flavor with a nice firm texture. Plenty of "block " seating outside. Not a very good lap eater but at least I didn't make a mess! Next time I order waffles for breakfast I'll be disappointed that they won't be as good as the waffles from Oyya.

When you order a cappuccino and you get to pick a fresh homemade piece of chocolate. That's a special treat. Waffles were heavenly. I got the caramelized, dried orange covered with chocolate, the hazelnut rocher truffles and another chocolate I don't remember the name of. The orange was amazing with the chocolate, and the way they caramelized it and covered it with the rich chocolate made it perfect. The rocher truffle was perfect, melt in your mouth goodness. I couldn't choose which one was better because both were so satisfying I would definitely return to buy boxes of just the two!
