If you want to spend an exorbitant amount fot a snack, but a truly amazing one then come hdr here. The place is cozy and quaint and has lots kf charm. Staff are attentive and run around with a fury to keep up with the clientele coming and going. The menu is extensive but we settled on each having a Waffle Gravensteen which comes with chocolate sauce, blueberries. vanilla ice cream and a red (red fruit coulis) topping sauce on the ice cream. We accompanied that with a warm chocolate milk drink. Both were purely amazing, although the waffle was a bit crunchy compared to others I have tried. The atmosphere is vibrant and fun, and you'll get a good dessert fix, best for an afternoon treat. It appears to primarily cater to tourists, yet they seem to keep the quality good. For me this place was just okay for the taste. I'm giving it 3 stars mainly because the server was very nice and friendly. (Service 5/5) Food-wise, the Belgian waffles were disappointing (1/5). We tried the Dubai waffle and the regular waffle, but neither stood out especially if you're expecting a true Belgian style waffle. The hot chocolate tasted bland and watered down. Overall, it's a good spot if you want to grab a coffee and chat with a friend for a while, but I wouldn't come specifically for the waffles or hot chocolate. Ate here last time with my sister for dessert and before leaving Ghent and going back to Utercht after long bus ride to drive around Belgium. Me and my sister had ordered had ordered the waffles with different toppings and it had tasted really good and delicious to eat. The service there was also really good, friendly and exceptional. I am so happy we happened upon In Choc while wandering around Gent on a Sunday afternoon. In Choc offered up great coffee beverages and the most perfect waffle with dark chocolate and vanilla ice cream. I tried other waffles in Belgium and they just weren't the same. In Choc's version had a slightly crunchy exterior, giving the waffle some texture. The dark chocolate sauce was exquisite so of course I had to purchase some chocolates to bring home as well. Such a pretty chocolate shop! :) After walking many many miles through Bruge, we stopped at this quaint little place for some tea and dessert. As we walked into this little store, I fell in love with the beautiful ambience. There were plants all over the place, lovely big wooden wicker chairs with plush pillows, and little tables. I was so tired from walking, and could not wait to sit down in the big chairs! We ordered chocolate teas with soy milk and a chocolate cake. Both were delicious! The chocolate cake was especially good and had melted chocolate drizzled on top. It was moist as well and was not super sweet! The teas were great and tasted like a light milky hot chocolate! The bread was fresh, the mozzarella was clearly fresh, the pesto was high quality, and the ham (which I as an American would classify as prosciutto) was also amazing. Reasonably priced food, and some yummy looking chocolates inside I didn't get a chance to try. They also had "crazy milkshakes," so of course my friend and I had to try one. Very tasty Oreo Cookie Monster one. For Americans, "milkshakes" here are a thinner consistency than you might be accustomed to, but still delicious. Our waitress spoke several languages fluently, and was very kind when my friend attempted to speak a bit of Flemish and French. 5/5! read more

Wow! Cute, little cafe near Death Square. While the cafe looked full at 4pm on a Sunday, we were seated nearly immediately. The menu is extensive and we received service immediately. Our family was looking for breakfast and this gem was right next our place. The service was friendly and very helpful. Our oldest son wanted cold milk with his breakfast and they readily accommodated (who knew cold milk is unusual request!) . Our waffles were delicious! My son had a Mr Bueno pancake (crepe) which was delicious- he almost licked the plate. The warm chocolate milk was also a beautiful presentation and wonderful. My husband enjoyed his cappuccino. My Mom & I were walking around Ghent & we really wanted a fresh Belgian Waffle. My Mom actually spotted this place as we were walking by so we went in. I specifically asked if they made them fresh, since almost everywhere we walked in Belgium, we saw these pre-made waffles just sitting in the cases at various shops. They said "of course we make them fresh. Have a seat". We both ordered hot chocolate since it was only in the 40's Fahrenheit. The hot chocolate consisted of chocolate syrup squirted all of the inside & a thick layer on the bottom of the glass, with warm milk, delicious. Then our waffles came out hot with whip bream & strawberries. They were so good. I thought the prices were very reasonable & the service was very friendly. I would recommend stopping in here if you're in Ghent. It's a lovely place. read more
