Imagine our surprise when The Chocolate Line came up as the number one store in every review I read. Due to this we returned to try other items in case we missed what made them so popular. Then we walked up to the register and asked her to sample some of the chocolates behind the case. We tried two of them one that was filled with raspberry and the other one was filled with lilac. To my surprise the lilac one was by far my favorite. It was so unique and still sweet but not too sweet. I had never had something like that before. The raspberry one was delicious as well but I was not blown away by it because I had tried something like that in the past. I brought back two sets of the easter eggs for my family and the chocolate that you put into the milk to make hot chocolate for my neice and my nephew. My parents loved trying the different flavors of the easter eggs and I will report back on the verdict of the hot chocolate soon. Overall, great experience but mostly great chocolate. The Hazelnut Praline was much too sweet for our liking, and the Ecuador wasn't as smooth as the Costa Rica. We enjoyed the Costa Rica chocolate so much that we ended up taking home four bags. I immediately bought two teal macaroons which were bubble gum and frozen yogurt and wowwwww. What in the actual!!! Never had such a delicious macaroon!!! The guy had explained that they use a lot of almond and their macaroons are very high quality. Their truffles were absolutely fantastic, they have so many kinds of hot chocolate and chocolate bars and just wow. What craftsmanship. The young man working educated us on the Ghent Dragon, provided us with a few local restaurant recommendations and a brief lesson on Belgian fries and local spots. He also informed us that the chocolates are made by Sophie herself. Sophie is doing a great job in both the chocolate business and in hiring friendly, competent people. It was a pleasure shopping there.

They're located down Graffiti Alley and known for their motto "bean to bar" - as in, they do the whole process themselves from cocoa bean to chocolate bar. I personally adored their sesame chocolate flavor, but every square we had of theirs was delicious. We purchased a couple on the tour (Pistachio and Espresso), then came back a few days later to buy a few more (Sesame, Miso, and more Pistachio) for the road. Every bar comes in it's own box and each visit the service was helpful and friendly. They even have a small seating area out front. All in all, they are a must-eat in Ghent during your visit, especially if you adore Belgium chocolate.
