I didn't need a reservation and was able to walk in on a Sat evening. The Dan Dan noodles were the best of the dishes I tried here as the noodles had a great texture and the portion size was perfect for 2 to split. The beef hotpot noodle soup was way too spicy though, I definitely recommend some rice or something on the side to help balance it out. The clay pot rice was a generous portion and had the crispy rice on the side of the pot. I think it had Chinese sausage, duck, and even some pork in it so I was pretty happy with the variety. The duck meat was not great though since most of it was a fatty boney piece.

However, as the night got busier, the lady sitting next to me didn't receive a menu till I have her mine. When I first entered the was a strange almost off putting smell. However once I was seated at the bar, the fragrant scent of cooking food quickly dispelled the smell. The food itself was quite tasty. Two of the dim sum were first for me (edamame dumpling and a seasoned rice shumai). They all had wonderful distinctive flavors. However I felt the prices were a little large and awkward to eat. The price seemed reasonable to me for the service, ambiance, and food. However I couldn't give them 4 stars because I just can't get behind paying for white rice with an entree at an Asian restaurant.

I used to live in NYC and cold peanut (or sesame) noodles were on every Chinese menu in the city. Weird that I have never seen them anywhere in San Francisco (or Dallas). They were just scrumptious, and I plan on making them with some grilled chicken next week for a dinner party. I would have liked some chopped scallions on top here, but this place is kinda "no frills". The scallion pancake was nice and crispy, maybe a little oily, but still excellent. Two friends and I split the noodles, the pancake, the mu shu pork and the General Tso's chicken. It all came out pretty fast. Strange too, that no chopsticks were offered.
