Sesame chicken with fried rice and 4 piece chicken wing with French fries
Dechhen S.

My main go-to at any Chinese spot is Sesame Chicken. Not only is Cheong Hei really well priced but they also have the sesame chicken to beat in my opinion. Most of the time their sesame chicken has just the right amount of crunch and good-tasting sauce. I often end up comparing sesame chicken that I have at other places to Cheong Hei's since theirs is so great I've also had friends agree with me on this front. I also love their fried rice and also recently had their chicken wings which are also really good. I also like getting their soups specifically their chicken noodle. (they charge extra for soup crackers but it's worth it) This is a cash-only spot and also has a limited dining area but is the perfect Chinese take-out spot for good food and good prices.

I used to order here all the time and today i ordered a beef and broccoli to eat with my daughter and this is just simply not beef or it's not cooked correctly smells like fish and not chewable I'm so dissapointed the broccoli was over cooked it was so mushy but my main concern is this meat your calling beef that smells like fish.

Great food for a great price! This is my comfort restaurant, service is fast and efficient! Delivery is always on point. Their sesame chicken is the best, it's crunchy and not soggy from the sauce. Dining is also available, the dining space is spacious.

The "chicken teriyaki"

I orders chicken teriyaki and got some stretchy meat and the meat tasted different cause it's not tertiary

One of my go to place. Food is decent but I love the service and how friendly they are compared to other places!

It's OK. Super greasy though. Grease dripped out of my takeout bag.

A forgettable lunch I had here. It's not terribly bad but I can name a couple other Chinese…read morerestaurants I've had a better experience in. The restaurant is a few blocks from the main street of Steinway so it'll take a bit of searching. Going inside, the area is rather abstract. Pink flower wallpaper on one end and dry wall on the other, it's kinda off-putting but I didn't come here for the atmosphere anyway. Service was lukewarm, I got my order in but the two workers inside weren't too receptive and the menu itself is kinda barebones with most of their food being a bit more than I would like to pay for so I just settled on one order of Singapore Mei Fun. After waiting 10 minutes for my food to arrive, the Singapore noodles which are usually spicy were kinda salty but it was nothing a bit of duck sauce wouldn't fix. This one order cost $17 while not the worst Singapore Mei Fun...well technically it is, even though it's not horrible but I've had much better from other places for a stable price of $12. Yeah, a rather disappointing visit. Not the worst I've ever had but could be so much better.

I got the wonton soup and pork juicy buns. The soup was different from other wonton soups with the addition of cilantro and some nice balancing flavors for the salt, and the juicy buns were your classic soup dumplings with a very nice rich sauce to dip in. The dandan noodles my friend ordered were maybe my favorite, they were the perfect level of spicy and so flavorful without being overwhelming. I'd go back just for my own plate of those. The service was quite fast, and it's a cute little shop that feels like a small town Chinese restaurant. Very reasonably priced as well. Some of my favorite Chinese food I've found outside of Lower Manhattan !

Red Sorghum is a spacious, beautifully designed restaurant with a great overall vibe. One thing…read morethat really stands out is their liquor selection, especially the focus on baijiu, which you don't see at many other places. The service was excellent and attentive throughout, and they even helped me track down a lost umbrella, which was much appreciated. The drinks and food were both highlights. The Jade Dragon was refreshing with just the right amount of spice and not overly sweet, while the Absinthe Minded was totally unique, a really interesting combination of flavors that worked surprisingly well. For food, the peppercorn fish stew was a standout: large portion, tender fish, tons of mushrooms, and a perfectly balanced level of heat. The garlic sauce eggplant was also excellent and very saucy in the best way and packed with flavor. Overall, a great spot with strong drinks, satisfying food, and thoughtful service.

Pros: delicious spicy food! (Do not bother coming if you don't like spice)…read more Cons: they charge for rice SPICY!!!! Which is perfect for me!! We had the lucky coin tofu and the mala squid and chives (not pictured because I forgot lol) I loved the texture each and it made a great combo. The only con is that they charge for rice, which to me is a very cheap move. You know that nobody is going to eat this without rice! Why are we charging? My local takeout Chinese doesn't charge, so why should an upscale restaurant charge? I've been meaning to come to this place for a while and was not disappointed! The service was great. My friend wanted an IPA, but they ran out of the beer. She asked for a recommendation and the server ended up going to the kitchen and specifically finding an IPA for her. I had a sip and it was quite good! The restaurant was beautiful with lots of space! The seats were very comfy. I appreciate how they actually gave us good seats. Usually, restaurants will put you in the corner even if it's a full restaurant because it's convenient to them.
