I always see this place and thought I give it a try. The food was good. The Chinese food scene in Jackson Heights has declined so I am wandering into Woodside and Sunnyside and I believe I found a hidden gem. My test for any Chinese hole in a wall spot is to try the chicken and broccoli or the beef and broccoli. I ordered the beef and broccoli combo and it didn't disappoint. It could have been better if there was more beef but I'm just being greedy. lol. We also ordered the roast pork Lo mein, fried pork dumplings, fried chicken wings and the chicken with eggplant combo (they did mess up on this order and forgot the chicken). All in all, this place was good and I will return. read more

My husband and his family have been eating from here for almost a decade now and when I moved to NewYork after marriage he introduced me to this place as well. After trying their food I understood why my husband didn't like eating Chinese food from any other place. It's super cheap and convenient and is always FRESH! He orders the half fried chicken with onion fried rice and I love the sesame chicken with onion fried rice. The plate is very filling and we always end up eating it for 2 meals because of how big the portions are. The staff is super friendly and their food is worth every penny! read more

Bland and took too long to arrive. Disappointment. I ordered off of Grubhub. The chicken wings were crisp and hot but had little to no seasoning on them. Edible but not enjoyable to have. The General Tso's shrimp also arrived hot with a tad of spice but didn't have much flavor. The serving of shrimp was generous and I substituted white rice instead of pork fried rice. Meh. I ordered from this restaurant very often and they're late beyond their seamless timeframe 90% of the time. I've overlooked it because their food is decent and relatively cheap. Today was the last time I'll order from them, they showed up nearly 40 minutes late. When I called the restaurant, the guy who answered had no explanation or apology. My family owned a Chinese take-out restaurant, so I thought it was the same everywhere. WRONG. There are definitely some greasy bland places out there, but Maxim's actually does Chinese take-out justice. Excellent Singapore Mei Fun and Mixed Vegetables. There's lots of vegetarian dishes and they also have brown rice! And it doesn't taste like cardboard. Big plus. Maxim's is clean, service is speedy, and the food is not as oily as other places. Plus, sometimes they have kids working the counter so that just makes me nostalgic cuz it reminds me of my childhood days. my boyfriend got a stomach virus from your terrible food. he ordered dumplings and something else i don't remember but it had chicken in it. he said the chicken tasted stale and he only ate a few bites but then his stomach immediately hurt. he had to work for hours after while his stomach hurt just to come home to a fever, feeling weak, and terrible hot flashes and chills, he felt better after doing number 3 (you know what i mean) but now he had to cancel his plans and has to call out of work due to feeling weak and being sick from your shitty excuse of what you think is food. this place should get shut down and i hope whoever is putting a lame amount of effort into these "meals" understands that you are putting people's lives at risk. read more

I end up here frequently to pick up food. It's the best takeout in the area for the price. The portions are enormous, and the specials are really inexpensive. I usually get the General Tso's chicken, which is enough for a meal and then some. I usually pick up from there, but when I have had delivery, it has been on time and arrived piping hot. read more

Ordered take-out from this place and it was ready in 15 minutes! I got the chicken and string beans which was good, but the chicken pieces could have been a little bit bigger. The Crab Rangoon was ok, but definitely needs more filling because it was mostly fried dough. Overall this place was decent food at a good price. The place looked clean compared to other Chinese restaurants I've been to. The cashier also greeted me and smiled when I came in to pick up my order so that was nice considering some places just give you the food and ring you up. Basic customer service goes a long way! I like that they're open late too unlike some other places along Roosevelt Ave. This place gets 3 stars from me. Best Chinese in Queens hands down!!! Now they even serve Pad Thai, and its DELICIOUS! They use fresh vegetables. I've never seen fresh mushrooms used in Chinese Cuisine anywhere else in Queens. They currently have a 'C' NYC Dept of Health restaurant grade. I tried ordering form here yesterday and the lady that answered the phone told me they were closed... on a Thursday afternoon... hmmm. Food is OK and delivery is quick.The last few times I've ordered, though, they've gotten something wrong about the order. They'll send the wrong sodas, or leave out one of the things I order, or send the wrong appetizer. No response when I call to complain, customer service is lousy, well, nonexistent actually. I ordered cashew chicken, spring rolls, and fried dumplings, delivered. The delivery was very fast, and the food was hot. The dumplings were burned, and the dough was very thick. The spring rolls were quite crispy, but the inside was pretty unflavorful. The vegetables that came with the chicken were not bad, but the chicken itself had an awful aftertaste. I had to pick it all out and just eat the veggies. Sauce with the chicken was meh. Lots of cashews, though, which is nice. I will definitely not be ordering from here again.
