My spouse's 4Runner had been hit in the Kroger parking lot and a rear door had to be replaced along with the rocker panel. I was blown away by the quality of both the work and the service. They communicated well with both me and the insurance company, and not only was the repair quality excellent and completed on time, they really made the car look great overall, not just the one door. The car was polished like new when I picked it up and they had touched up a couple of little things, without charge, that were not even part of the Kroger parking lot damage. The owner, CJ, said, "We just want to make sure your car looks great and you are happy." I can't think of any other body shop with that attitude, and certainly not the mega chain. When some idiot (who will not be named but is someone I am very familiar with.....ahem) drove off in my Tundra, pulling my trailer with the tailgate down, I found myself filing an insurance claim for a new tailgate. Once again, I chose Weaver Wisdom over the "CC" chain that insurance wanted me to use. Again, the work was very high quality and done on time. The paint is factory new and they even did the Rhino paint liner. I am not a rabid car guy...my motto has always been, " If it gets me from here to there, that is fine." But I do believe that if you are going to buy or work on something, go for quality at a fair price, and that is what you get at Weaver Wisdom. I strongly recommend Weaver Wisdom. The staff are professional and do excellent work at a fair price. This is an owner operated shop that has been in Denton for many decades, and this community is better off with them here. Next time your insurance company wants you to use the "CC" chain, swing by Weaver Wisdom and talk with CJ first. BTW, I have no connections with this shop or anyone who works here. I am just impressed with this place, and am glad I found a better alternative than the "CC" mega chain. And I have not had an especially bad experience at the mega chain, but I like trading with businesses who see me as an important and valued customer rather than just one of a million faceless customers.

I called Ivan to ask what pump he installed in the car, I was told "our universal turbo car 340lph pump". This is bone stock legacy with a 2.0 engine. Needless to say the fuel overloaded the factory regulators like they weren't there and despite going into limp mode the ecu couldn't save it and the fuel washed the rings. The oil pan is full of gas and the car is hurt. I didnt have the car a full 24 hours and its seriously injured. Why they decided a 340 lph fuel pump was smart instead of looking at the factory regulator specs is beyond me. These cars are totally over whelmed at anything past 255lph. The fuel returns cannot flow it. So a simple fuel pump job has taken my otherwise pristine JDM legacy off the road and left me walking.

In short, this Brakes Plus location isn't very punctual, they do a mediocre job with their work,…read moreand they aren't completely honest with you. To elaborate, I got my rear brakes, rotors, and calipers replaced at the end of May/start of June because they'd been grinding for a while. I called ahead to see what the wait would be and was told there wasn't much of a wait, but I pulled in to see that their wait list was overflowing into the neighboring Starbucks' parking lot. After dropping off and waiting for over 4 1/2 hours, they finally give me an update, tell me they'll have to hold my truck overnight, and say they'll call around 11:00AM to give me the OK to pick up. At 11:15 the next day, I call up there because I hadn't heard anything, and they tell me it's gonna be another 20-30 minutes and that they'll call me when it's ready. At 1:00PM, I call again because they still hadn't gotten back to me, and they tell me that it'd been ready for about an hour. I get over there, pick it up, and go about my day. About a month later, I start hearing a grinding again, so I take my truck back to them. Again, I called ahead to see what the wait would be, and they tell me that they could check it out pretty much right when I get there. I drop it off and see there's only a few other cars and figure they're being legit this time. I don't hear anything for almost three hours, and when they finally call, they tell me that the rear left brake pads were installed backwards, so they had to replace the calipers and pads once again. Furthermore, they found a few new things that need to be replaced (which they somehow missed when I brought it in a month prior), so I forked out a few hundred extra dollars on some of that. They let me know when it was ready to go this time, so I went back about 40 minutes later and picked it up, thinking I wouldn't have to do anything else on my brakes for a while. Cut to last week. I'm pulling out of a parking lot and hear a completely different grinding noise from before coming from the rear again. I pull over to check it out, and my rear right caliper has fallen off and is grinding against the wheel itself. Both bolts holding it in place apparently came undone and popped out. I thankfully have a cousin whose a mechanic (who I probably should've gone to in the first place) and he gave me a temporary remedy for the situation and told me how to fix it once I have the right parts. I won't be going back to Brakes Plus because you'd think for a place with "Brakes" in their name, they'd do a better job of servicing and installing them. I actually learned how to replace my front brakes myself about a week after they replaced my rears, and I've had no issues with them thus far, and as a first-time brake technician, I don't think I should be outperforming the trained professionals who've been doing this for years. While the evidence is very circumstantial, it really feels like they do a subpar job just to get you to come back and charge more for other services. I will say, though, that I'm giving them two stars and not just one because the techs are very personable when you talk to them at the counter, they did cover the brakes they replaced after having installed them wrong, and they knocked almost $100 off of my initial brake replacement. However, when I pay $865 for someone to fix my brakes, I want it to be done right the first time.

I purchased a truck from this dealership at the end of 2015. I decided to write a review now, in…read more2019, because a few things have always bothered me about the transaction. Here they are. They told me there had been one previous owner, that was true. They told me it was a commuter vehicle, explicitly claiming it was not a work truck. The first time time I washed it, a business logo appeared on the back windows. It can only be seen in certain light, with a thin layer of moisture applied. But, it does seem like it was, in fact, a work truck. Next up, come time around a year after purchase. Paint on hood, bumper and above wheels faded. The paint does not appear to be original on these parts. Lost their shine. I would speculate they aren't even the original parts. I do not know the details, but reviewing the carfax I see the vehicle was partially rebuilt just before the ownership transferred from the original owner to Charlton. But they did not mention that. Did they not know? Or did they just lie to me?. I guess when the dealer tells you something to your face, you have to check the carfax and not trust what they tell you. But I did not know that. I was young and naive (still am maybe). Thirdly, the salesman mentioned he had been driving the vehicle personally prior to the sale. I would rather not know that the salesmen drive around in the vehicles until they are sold. That kind of taints the experience, eh? Fourthly, when going over financials, the salesman asked how I made my money and complimented my salary. Next, he bragged that he, in fact, made more money than I did. Well, good for him. Not quite so professional, huh?

When using their finance they will tell you 2 hard hits which became 3 hard hits to the credit report after I was clear I would not accept more than 2. Response: Thats what happens. Did not complete the work they were supposed to do and agreed to do. The vehicle had a check engine light at purchase time, they replaced an O2 Sensor and said it was fixed. 19 miles later the light came back on. In a txt message they replied "Looks like we will have to replace the catalytic converter" They knew it was bad and tried to get away with it. I returned the vehicle and they sent it to the Manufacturer dealership for repair under factory warranty. A review of the Huffines Dealership will be separate from this one as Huffines was horribly slow. They were supposed to replace the trailer wiring that had been cut and install a replacement wiring harness for a 4 prong trailer connector. The sales guy said Yes it is right under here. Went to hook up my trailer and got under to find it.. Not there.. I just ordered myself a 7 to 4 adapter so as not to go back to this place. Not a big deal but why lie about it. What else did they lie about I wonder. During the time my new vehicle was in the dealership Charlton provided a loaner car. This car smelled of cigarette smoke so bad I could not sit in it. They did not have another and asked me to Febreeze the car. Seriously I can show you the txt message on this. So that sat outside not being used as the stench was horrendous. Maybe this was a horrid sales guy, maybe a one off occurrence but frankly I would say to go somewhere else when looking based on my experience.
