The store has an incredibly large showroom of furniture - everything from recliners, to sofas to bedroom sets. The other big selling items are work wear, hunting gear, archery supplies, hardware and tons of PVC pipes. The archery shop manager is actually a trained archery coach who can give you lessons. We shopped around for bedroom furniture and found a great set by a famous brand which we ordered; if it's not in the store there are tons of catalogues to order from. Professional and courteous delivery and set up were included in the price. Oh and if someone tries to put an apple on your head while you're there, don't let them!!

Staff were minimal but were willing to help and answer any questions you have. There is only one register located on the parking lot side for the sports goods and another one at the hunting counter. The register for the sports section leading into the mall is closed, probably for good as it had a pile of boxes and store shelving kinda piled on top of it. The selection of items was solid but don't expect everything to be put back where its labeled, again the staff was minimal so restocking was eeeehh... ok-ish. As for value for your money, its about the same as any other sports store, I wouldn't say you get bargain prices but you may save some gas money not having to drive to Gastonia for your gear or guns. We however struck out looking for baseball pants as the selection had already been picked through and we headed off to the real Academy in G-town. Overall its a solid 4 star Shelby business.

I asked to speak to the manager, which was pointless, and explained my situation and how poorly his store was being run and how the sales associate made eye contact with me several times but proceeded to hang with his friends instead of taking care of the ONLY customer in the store. As i was leaving the sales associate spoke to me , only to infuriate me because I had pointed out his failure to do so any time that I was in the store. As I confronted him , in front of the manager, that now was not the time to speak to me and how rude he was and now was just being a punk the manager did NOTHING . POOR POOR management, POOR POOR sales associates !! NEVER will I enter this store again.
