Bargain Shoes ( otherwise known as the Jesus store ) has been open as long as I can remember. This…read moreplace is sometimes called the Jesus store because the owner is a devout Christian. It's not meant to be derogatory but as a compliment! The shoe section is huge! And I do mean huge! I went here today in the hopes of finding a really nice pair. To my dismay; I couldn't find what I was looking for. Back in the day it was very common to locate a pair or two or more of the Bostonian brand. Not any more! As a matter of fact I purchased a pair back in the late 1970's. It was my first introduction to Bostonian; and I loved them!I think they were 25.00 dollars at the time. Back then there was also a couple of department store's on Main Street in Gaffney. They sold Bostonian shoes for 100.00 a pair! That was a lot of money then! When Walmart came here; Main Street shutdown rapidly! No department stores or anything related survived. Guess what? Bargain Shoes survived; but they had to relocate away from Walmart! I was a bit disappointed in my trip here today as I didn't recognize any brand names in the shoes. They all seemed generic. I still would have bought a pair but nothing felt good on my feet! As you can see in my pictures Bargain Shoes stocks a little bit of every kind of clothing! I still suggest that this is a good place to shop for bargains!

I can see how they sell kids shoes, because kids LOVE brightly colored shoes that light up!! The grown up stuff, I did not find very fashionable; they also looked kind of cheaply made. Maybe there's a better representation of their brand in major stores. Maybe they're super comfortable. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt based on sales, but personally I'm a Bjorn and Clarks kind of guy. The outlet runs an indefinite "buy one get one half off" special.

All items are heavily discounted. I told my wife I needed a new pair of Sketchers. I don't know what came over her but she ended up buying me five pairs! Pardon the pun but I'm used to the shoe being on the other foot! As a husband and father I'm used to following them around various retail stores. Usually pushing the shopping cart for them. They would purchase several hundred dollars worth of things. I used to panic until I realized that in two days or so they would change their minds and return half of the stuff! As a guy, I don't shop for myself like that. I know what I need and I get it and leave! I told her I only wanted one pair. She's said all of my shoes were 50% off today only and some were 70% off regular retail. She said I need to replace all of my old shoes. I reminded her that unlike my daughter and herself; I don't change my mind and return anything ever! Hamrick's is a fully loaded clothing store for the entire family.
