I am also for buying whatever I can from Caribbean and West African businesses, so I stopped in to see what this small grocery store offered. They have all the grocery products that I like to use in my cooking. So, this was a plus. Their products are more for Nigerian cooking than they are for Ghanaian cooking. I still know how to work those ingredients into my own cooking. As to their hot plates, I ordered a plate of egusi with chicken and beef. I ordered some jollof rice to go with it. I will not bother to go back to Chicago's North Side for egusi at an of the restaurants there. What I had at Sesi reminded me of what a college classmate's family had served when I went to Abuja with him years ago. I must say that I loved the jollof rice. Those who laugh about the jollof rice wars may find humour in my assessment. The rice is blooming delicious. There are other Nigerian dishes that I will eventually get around to trying. The egusi is simply the winner for now.

The store itself has a lot of things framed into the rows of items- they definitely make the most of their space. There is a deli counter in the back as well as a food display with items ready to eat in the front. They have a fresh produce aisle on the right and a few fridges with drinks in the back and on the right. The far left is for no edible items, then the middle aisles are all dry food items. This place has so much!!! I didn't have a lot of time to peruse, so I need to come back. And I want to try some of their homemade items. I'm stoked to have found a market/grocer with halloumi. It's sheep's milk and $5.99. The staff were very nice. I was able to pay with a card.

I usually go to the wedding the city by Roberto Clemente on Western and Cortez until I discovered this one. If you're into organic beyond whole foods or Mariano's and is willing to travel all the way to Orland Park from Chicago this is the place to go. They even had duck eggs that the Amish are up in Chicago says they are running out because of a season chain on ducks laying eggs. I had ordered the cherry pie but the disappointment was on Sundays they run out of pies by Saturday. It is best if you're going to order Amish pies to call in and reserve a pie at additional charge until you go to the store. The milk which is more traditional than oberweis or organic milk since you have to shake it in the bottle and drink it tasted much better and unique and doesn't give you gassiness or you're about to fart in the regards to being lactose intolerance I drank like three bottles of chocolate milk I didn't get a chance to take a picture cuz I was kind of in a hurry. Ambience from the owner was very amiable if not friendly but I will be coming back there because they also have shoo fly pie which I can't find in in whole foods. Four out of five stars because of the availability of the pies but other than that everything else that you could think of that's Amish and organic is there better than the one in Chicago.

Yesterday I went into the market to buy a large Arizona mango cocktail drink and they were out of stock. That drink has always been sold in this store for $1.10. When I heard this, I went back to the refrigerator to grab two of the smaller ones which at most can be sold for $.70 (per arizona iced tea's policies). When i went to the counter to pay, they lied and said they were $.99 each and when I protested the two cashiers insisted that "the fruits are better brother". This outraged me because it is literally marketed as the same drink. How can a can thats 1.5 times bigger only cost $.11 more. I then said "its the same blend man". Before grabbing my cash and returning the drinks to the refrigerator. Instead of just being quiet however, both men started to verbally harass me. They called me the n-word, and cheap, and a cotton picker amongst other things in Arabic because they believed i wouldn't understand them. I swear I will NEVER shop at this store again. If thats how they treat the teenage population of their neighborhood, then i don't even want to imagine what other people must go through.

Upon entering there were a lot of different aromas wafting through the air; incense, coffee beans and fresh spices. Greeted right away. Walked around and took some pictures. Sampled fresh brewed Arabian coffee and a honey almond cake. Very nice flavors. There were also coffee husks on the counter. I had to inquire about their purpose; boy did I get a lesson. You brew one tablespoon per day and drink it as a tea. If you must use a sweetener it can only be honey. Coffee husks are good for headaches, menstrual cramps, inflammation, weight loss and more. I purchased a half pound for 3$. I'll let you know. I also purchased coffee for my husband. I love the way they grind the blend; extra dark beans, light beans, cardamom and cloves. The bag smelled so good. I'll let you know. As I headed to the front to check out, I was given a dried mango slice. I truly enjoyed my shopping experience and will be happy to return for some fresh ground spices.

The hummus was very good. They do have a small grill area in the back but there was no menu posted and it was unclear what was available or if the grill was even open at 4pm. As others have mentioned in reviews, this is not the most well-organized store and no one greeted me until I brought my items to the cashier. I would likely have gotten some chicken as well, but did not feel comfortable asking how the grill orders work or what was available given that no one tried to engage with me as a customer. It is hard not to compare Ali Baba to Alladin Pita and definitely feel like Alladin Pita is both a nicer market and a more friendly, professional business.
