Be aware! I had the worst experience about this place! 1. they didn't explain to me and tricked me into signing a registration form and start charging me without a word. 2. No makeup class or refunds will be offered if you had to miss one of your classes. (One you pay the money, they pretty much don't care about you anymore) 3. Very crowded changing rooms! Shower is only offered in public area, which means you can only rinse your kids with swim suit on! 4. Terrible stuff! The from desk people will "act" nice before you pay. (Duh, of course) when my daughter is taking a class I can literally see a instructor rolling her eyes and giving all the negative reactions to her students. I have friends recommend this place to me. They might be ok in the past, but surely a nasty place to me to bring my kids in for now! read more

They never explain what the lesson consists of in detail. We were under the impression that our child would learn the traditional swimming lessons we had learned growing up Ex: Arms, Legs, floating, jumping in etc. We were very wrong... After almost 4 months we had gone through 4 different instructors and each one had a different way of teaching our child! He was still only learning legs and floating. Still hadn't introduced the arms into the lesson at all! Every time we would ask a question about the next lesson or when would they teach Arms with Legs the people in the front would never give a definitive answer which was extremely frustrating. Finally we decided to end the lessons because it was 4 months of the exact same lesson repeated. Be sure to do your research because they are extremely unclear on what you are signing up for. read more

No one told me about the cancellation policy and it's not even on their website. Tried the first trial with Paula, I told her he's been taking private lessons so he can swim well across the pool but not confident on the deeper end by himself. She assigned him to the first group class with Adriana today and I told her the same. However, he was kicking with the floaty dumbell on both arms so he was not kicking properly. I said he does not need that at all, but she said kids can not do the strokes or use arms so I knew this class is not for him. When I called to cancel over the phone, Lauren told to submit the cancellation form in person or email so I sent the email. No one answers the phone or respond to email cancellation confirmation. I sent my husband, he got Lauren on the phone she apologized for not giving the cancellation policy from the beginning. She also said we paid for June, therefore we can not get the money back for the next two lessons. This is crazy no wonder they do not deserve good reviews recently. I will make sure to share this experience with moms groups for sure thing. read more

Earl Sutton the owner of this business was rude and aggressive towards me and my children. My 6 year old boy needed to go to the bathroom after his swimming lesson. I took my boy to the boys room to help him put his swimsuit back and the owner "Earl" started yelling at me and screaming at my kids. He told me to get out!! Using aggressive hand gestures. My boy was forced out naked.i Both of my children were traumatized I felt humiliated and violated. This man should never be allowed around children. Be careful!! read more

Amidst all the bad reviews, I have to say that we are happy with Sutton Swim and the staffs. We enrolled our 6 months old baby for baby-parent class and she is enjoys her 30 mins lessons. No crying, no complaints, no whining. I also noticed a difference in her social skills, she loves being around little children, interacts more, play/splashing her hands in the water and smiling more when she's in the water. Coach Erin is great with her, very attentive and my baby learned how to "clap clap" and when we say yeeey, she knows it's something good and fun-- all that only for a month of swimming class. The facility is clean and have multiple changing stations, so you're not waiting or fighting for a changing station. Their staffs are helpful and informative. They do tell you about their rules at trial class if and when you miss a class and remind you again on the first day of the class. My baby missed one class because she had colds but one class is not the end of the world--- we intend to have her finish 8 sessions and come back again after she turns one. On another note, there is no assessment for my baby since my husband is with her and coach Erin give his feedback during class but I heard few coaches talk to parents that has older children give progress reports and coaches even demonstrates to parents, which is helpful especially to those that are visual. We are so happy to have found Sutton swim, I absolutely recommend them! read more

Friendly and very clean. My 4.5 year old son is now swimming confidently after less than a year of lessons at Sutton. We have had 4 different teachers and been very happy with them all. The entire staff is wonderful and the facilities are great. I highly recommend Sutton to anyone looking for swim lessons in the area. read more

The instructor is so professional. Our experience during last two years was really great.

Great school with amazing instructors. My daughter started 3 months ago her group classes. Her first instructor Sean was absolutely wonderful, his love and patience just shines through. My girl is in intermediate 2 level now and she is swimming pretty confidently. She is always happy on the day of her class, her instructor Lauren is great. Thank you! read more

The indoor pool water is really clear & clean without the strong smell of chlorine. I have been to other swim schools where the water is murky and disgusting looking. The facility has a sitting area where you can wait and watch your child's lesson through the glass windows, and a small kids area where younger kids can play and/or watch TV (there is usually a kids movie playing). There are men's & women's bathrooms/changing area that you walk through to get to the co-ed showers which are next to the pool. All the staff are all very friendly. There is a ribbon program your child receives when they progress to new levels, which is explained in detail in one of the pamphlets. You are also able to request a more detailed progress report if desired. They always did them for me promptly. My daughter has been going here for almost 10 months, and is almost half way through the program. Between the camps & substitutes, she has been able experience 8+ different teachers and she has loved them all. My daughter is now 4 1/2 years old, and people comment on how well she does for her age. Her 11 year old cousin was surprised she was able to swim both on her front & back. They teach all the kids to do the dolphin which is a bonus for me because my daughter loves mermaids and wants a mermaid swim tail. Besides the mermaid tail, I feel she is getting a good foundation for if she ever wants to do competitive swimming. read more

This place is amazing!!! The facility is super clean, the staff and teachers are very professional! My child entered the beginner class, unsure of the water and not feeling safe. After several classes he gained a new confidence and can swim under water now! The teachers are very hands on and will go with the pace of the student. They never force anyone to do things they are not comfortable with. They communicate beautifully to the student every step of the way! I have been to many places and this place is by far my favorite and top notch! read more

Sutton Swim School - Awesome teachers - Swimming Lessons/Schools Near Me - Campbell, California

Very bad experience. All 4 of us in the family used to go there but stopped because of lack of value we used to get there. The curriculum is pretty random with no clear path and keeps changing very often. The good teachers also keep leaving and with the new and untrained ones coming in , the student is stuck in a class forever with no clarity as to when they will move to next level with no fault of theirs. Students of different levels are kept in same class with the teacher not sure about which level to focus on with each kid. And to top it all , it's a pricey place with a whacky makeup class policy and the front desk folks are very rude and unprofessional while handling the customer requests. read more

Instructors and class timings change more often (Very Inconsistent). Sometimes I've been asked to change the class timings as there's not enough kids in the class or moved out. Staffs don't update parents about kids testing and skill level read more

Facility is good. The curriculum and lessons are nice. They focus on teaching students the right technique. But we had issues with billing and class enrollment. Twice we were charged for classes which either did not happen (holiday) or were canceled (pool closure). We had to haggle with front desk to get our money back. And some people at front desk aren't very cooperative, sometimes they give non-sense excuses, like 'Sir, at this point we cannot do anything' (this is for a refund). Also, after moving to advanced level, my kid went on 1 month vacation. After we came back, they put her back in the intermediate level class, although she was waitlisted for an advanced level class. Front desk again wasn't very cooperative is fixing that - instead of accepting their mistake, they gave some non-sense argument, and did not refund for the class which my kid wasn't supposed to attend. So overall the school is good, but front desk's attitude and billing practices can be improved. read more

My son has severe sensory issues and was extremely afraid of the water! I brought him and they were extremely patient with him. He now loves the water and is a little dolphin swimming! It's all thanks to the staff both at the counter and teachers, he's had numerous instructors. They've all been wonderful and understanding! read more

This place is great, my 9 year old son loves it! The staff are really sweet and helpful, and great with all the kids. The swim instructors are very kind, knowledgeable, and supportive. The facilities are great, the water is warm and there are showers for before and after swimming. There's a nice viewing area for parents so that we can watch our children swim. A lot of parents fart a lot in the viewingarea, though, so sometimes it's like a half an hour of me bathing in other people's farts while my son hones his swim skills. But that's not Sutton Swim's fault! Over all, great place. read more

It is a great swim. The best I have seen. Nice warm water. Staff very helpful, polite professional there always making the kids laugh feel safe in the water they teach the parents about swimming . Paula is a great employee who really cares about her students and making a positive environment for everybody her teaching skills are the best I've ever seen I would deathly recommend the school to anybody especially mothers and fathers with babies . Great place for children and adults to learn swimming at different levels. Really like how the teachers make sure to take time with getting the basics right, early on without rushing. One request would be to send reminders once a while during the cold/flu seasons to not bring in kids with cold and cough - I feel things spread easily in the confines of the pool. I would not bring in my kid when his nose is running or he has a cough and would like the same from others. Thanks read more

My toddler son really loves going here. The instructors are great - Jason, Heather, John. But in a span of just 3 months, they have changed instructors thrice. Would prefer a stable instructor for a toddler class. read more

Awesome place, my son is learning. At a very fast pace, the coaches are cool and very patience. I will definitely recommend this place.

My daughter who was a student here had just started puberty so this caused her to miss a weekend a month (as any mother would know, it is taking her a while to adjust to this new life change) The rules are kids are allowed to have 1 make up session per semester. Fair enough. As a new mom of a child going through puberty I am also learning to deal with things like this that are unfortunate and out of my hands. Come December, we had a sudden death in my family. So not only did we miss the first Saturday but the second one as well due to my family having to deal with the death of my sister. My daughter was extremely distraught over the death as they were very close and she decided she did not want to continue with swimming any longer. I then called the office to say that my daughter would no longer continue in January as a student there. I asked the person I spoke to if there was any way to get a refund on my December payment since my daughter would not have any classes in December (they closed for the holiday as well) The woman was rude and did not even inquire any information from me as to why my daughter would not continue. Simply said no. I was already dealing with a lot so I did not push it further. I later received an email from Krista asking why my daughter would not be continuing as a student. I went on to explain to Krista about the repetitive of the class (you can see this because there's a section for parents to watch the kids during the lessons) but more importantly about how my daughter is going through puberty and needs to miss class so I'm technically paying for 3 classes a month and also about how my sister had just passed so our family is going through a lot right now and I'm a single mom so the little bit of money helps a great deal especially around the holidays. (The money would have helped with funeral expenses.)Assuming I am speaking to Krista who I know there and have spoken to on many occasions and has always been very helpful and kind. I received a response back from someone named Heather who stated that the students are taught something repetitively until they master it. Which makes sense but I don't understand the advancement from beginner to intermediate if she was just going to learn the same thing. Then she said that all women go through puberty and it's not their fault and there are other things my 11 year old can use and that the teachers there go through the same thing every month and are in the water for hours a day and have no problem. She then went on to tell me that she spoke to the person I spoke to on the phone and that I did not tell that person that my sister had died and if I said that she could have worked something out with me as far as a refund. I replied back (mind you I was STUNNED at this reply) stating that I understand that there are other ways my daughter can deal with her puberty and still come to class however as I stated my daughter had JUST started it and is still just learning to deal with it and it is against my culture and beliefs to teach her other means this early in age. I felt offended that she was telling me how to raise my daughter and what things to teach her to use. I don't know if she's a parent or not but this should be taken into consideration. She then proceeded to tell me she spoke to the person I spoke to over the phone who stated that I did not tell her that my sister had died and "our policy with refunds is to say no unless a good reason is given." I dont know if she has ever dealt with a death in her family but I was not asked for a reason and I was definitely not going to blurt out "my sister died" unless asked which I was not asked for a reason. After she states this I would assume she would proceed with my refund or that someone would reach out to me regarding this since she did state "for a good reason" and I did give her my reason now. But nothing. I never heard from them again. I simply told this school my daughter would no longer be a student and I WAS ASKED for my reason for "improvement in the future" but instead of taking in my feedback for improvement and growing from it, I was instead made to feel like I was in the wrong and that my problems were simply that, my problems. Please don't ask for feedback if your going to use someone's personal issue and throw it back in their face. Just don't even bother replying. There is no point. Krista was great. She deserves a raise. Or a job somewhere else where the staff matches her customer service. Take your kids somewhere else. I'd give them no stars if I could but I guess the 1 star is for Krista. Your paying $120 for 4 days a month. 30 minutes a day. 4 kids with 1 instructor dividing the 30 minutes between these 4 kids. That's 8 minutes. 32 minutes a month. 24 minutes if your a girl just starting puberty. Thanks again Krista. read more

Great swim school. Love the facility. Clean spacious and you can watch from the outside where there is a seating area an kids play area if you have other kids with you who aren't swimming. Haven't started lessons yet but look forward to it read more

I would rated 0 star if there was an option, the support staff very rude. They never offer make up class. The keep changing the policies the way they want. Please don't go to this swim school. Loved the swim school. We haven't been there for years as my daughter continued on with diving!

My daughter has been taking swim lessons here since she was a baby. The staff are all friendly and helpful, and the facilities are very clean. We love Sutton School!!! We had originally started at a different swim school 11 years ago when my daughter was 4 months. I wasn't that impressed, so decided to try Sutton when it was in Cupertino. I loved everything about Sutton - the staff, the separate observation deck for parents, the instructors and more. So now all 3 of my kids take lessons at Sutton. Such professional and nice staff!! Great online website to view your account, search for different time slots, etc. They are also so gracious to offer makeup sessions too if you miss a scheduled date. I recommend Sutton to all my friends that even my neighbor signed up her two boys!! read more

This place has a fantastic clean facility, one of the best I've seen. Parking is abundant and free. The staff is amazing, especially Jason, who has taught my tiny 2 year old for several months. Jason is great with kids and my son has absolutely thrived in the water. He's ready to swim after only 2 months. read more

Sutton has the most ridiculous policies I have ever encountered. I gave a 15 day written notice to withdrawal my child from one of two weekly classes and Sutton is insisting that I pay for the entire month (5 lessons)! They don't "refund" credit cards and supposedly charges them on the first of the month...which is strange considering my card statement shows that they charged me before the 1st of the month. There are many other places that teach swimming with equally well trained staff and facilities, there is nothing special about Sutton. I recommend anyone needing swim lessons to look elsewhere and save themselves the headache. read more

Inconsistent application of "policy". Once when my child moved from one level to another I was told they will call me to confirm new class timings for the next level. When my child moved up to the next level, I assumed they would do the same. Nobody called. So I called them 30 minutes before the scheduled time and they kept me on the phone for 20 - 25 minutes offering various options. Eventually when I selected one, they said, as per our "policy" we can only move you to this class starting next week. BTW, sorry you missed your class this week. Could they not have told me this at the beginning of the call, when I had enough time to make it to class? Front desk staff is not at all customer friendly. I withdrew my child and will likely never return again. read more

I have nothing less but great things to say about this swim school. Teachers are AMAZING, patient, skillful, friendly and they make learning fun and exciting for kids. My two sons have been going to Sutton for about a month now and it's been a wonderful experience. The staff is helpful and polite and provide amazing customer service. Most importantly, the teachers are great. Ricky, my 2 year old's teacher, was super patient and allowed my older son to join the lesson to help my 2 year old relax. And my older son, who has been afraid of going under water for years, is now excited to go under water and looks forward to every class. His teacher, Sierra, has made him feel comfortable and confident in the water! read more

Swim in throw up/poo water or half your fee for day is forfeit. I spoke to Greg after they closed the pool after a kid had an accident. I was told Sutton was not obligated to give you a make up lesson, but rather would just credit half a lesson. Further he said our only way not to lose half our 22$ daily fee was to have our kid swim in the recently dirtied water for 15 mins of the 30 min lesson. If you want to reschedule to another day you lose half your fee. What really irritated me was Greg insisted getting only a half credit was a "Courtesy" to us. When I said it was not a courtesy, he kept insisting it was. read more

This school has good instructors but poor policy and management. No consideration for real life situations/ emergencies.. You pay upfront for the whole month (4-5 classes) that's understandable. ( although not very typical for swim lessons) . There should be some are arrangement for make up classes ( atleast 1 or 2) with such an inflexible pay upfront option.. You miss 1 or 2 classes a month you loose all your money. Real life and things happen people !! Oh! I called 24 hour ago told them I am not feeling well and will be missing a class. People with kids go look for more flexible option for your kids. Even others too... Unless this school make some smart choices for customers. read more
