I am an adult, swimming mainly for fitness and self-fulfillment. Before I take lessons with Aaron, I already generally know how to swim freestyle, backstroke, breastroke and even butterfly (worst). But I felt something is off, and I want to correct mistakes and improve techniques if possible. So I started taking 30min weekly lessons with Aaron. It last several months. I liked the instruction and feedback in each lesson. In the end, I feel I learned a lot and improved all four strokes as I was hoping to. I am still not very good at some of the areas pointed out by him, but at least I am aware of them. I even learned and practiced freestyle flip turn. Coach Aaron was very patient with my 6-year old twin grandkids. I had them for several weeks over the summer and he was able to fit them into his schedule. This is the best swim instructor in the bay area. Many others spend more money on advertising and are run remotely from a central location. They hire high school students or college students who can swim but cant teach. Aaron is very patient; works as a special needs instructor and more importantly he has thought about what approach works for different types of students. Was able to learn very quickly crawl kick requires core strength when he showed me a practice drill by using the pool steps. Nobody teaches this effectively till now. Was able also to practice and see the visible progress. Very efficient. Highly recommend. YMCA and the lessons run out of health clubs are awful. They have no way to measure effectiveness. Bring a wetsuit. The lessons are held in a apartment complex pool to keep costs down. I bought a 2mm half suit w/cut off arms and legs and it works fine. Available at oneill outlet in milpitas outlet. Excellent with kids and adults. Different approaches for different groups of students. Progression much faster than any other instructor. I tried the swim lessons from the company who rents a lane from a health club, the YMCA, the one in the club I go to and Aaron is much better than all of them. If you are interested in teaching kids how to swim so they don't drown this is the most cost efficient method because none of your fee goes towards rent. read more

Aaron is incredible with my two daughters (4 & 5 years old). They both used to take swimming lessons else-where without much success/enjoyment, but as soon as they started with Aaron they both started to love swimming lessons and are progressing very fast. My older one can already swim through half the pool after only 3 lessons. They cannot wait for the week to pass until they have swim lesson again. We are so lucky to have found him! My younger one used to hate getting her face wet, but after only 2 lessons with Aaron she started to want to practice diving with her googles in the bathtub. I think Aaron is much more gentle and caring with the kids, and instead of forcing the kids under water, he explains what he needs them to do, shows them and then lets them do it on their own. Wow! Our Grandboys are loving swimming now that they can really enjoy the whole pool. After several lessons, our beginner has become a strong swimmer, and his younger brother--who always stayed where he could touch the bottom--is now swimming in the deep end. My five year old enjoyed playing in the water when he was a toddler. Then the pandemic hit and somewhere in there he developed the strong opinion that he would forever only play on the steps of a pool. I knew we needed skilled, patient, one-on-one instruction. That's when we set up some lessons with Coach Aaron. He is calm, encouraging, and really figured out the best way to work with my son. Over the course of the summer he brought him from refusing to get his chin wet to full-head dunks and the beginning stages of floating on his belly. Aaron is amazing! My kids (6 and 3.5) love the water but have never taken a formal lesson. I wanted them to learn some basic swimming before a vacation -- primarily so they'd be more confident in the water (and I could worry a bit less). In only three lessons, Aaron taught my six year old how to properly do some basic strokes and my 3.5 year old how to float and kick and confidently swim on his own. It is miraculous how much he can teach in a short amount of time ... there is no doubt if my kids took more (and regular) lessons with Aaron they would be swimming proficiently. In April, I learned that I needed to pass a swim test for a summer sailing trip in May so had to learn how to swim pronto! I kind of taught myself how to swim as a kid but my form was all wrong and I couldn't last long in the water. I tried taking group lessons but ran into schedule conflicts and so-so instructors so decided to hire Aaron as my private instructor. Not only was he flexible with his schedule but he offers 1 hour lessons, which allows time to have more productive sessions (most places only offer 30 minutes - way too short).
