I love this place. The waitresses are hilarious, the food is delicious. The ambiance is old school and may need some updating but I absolutely love this place. Stick with the Burgers We just returned after finding out there is a new owner and they were open again. We ordered 2 meals so can only comment of those. Hoping someone posts reviews on other food that they thought was successful. Our meal has a mixed review. I gave it 4+ stars for the cheeseburger, sweet potato fries and onion rings. They were delicous. Burger was perfectly cooked and a generous portion. Onion rings and sweet potato fries were crispy and not greasy. Nice serving. Guiness and house Chardonnay both a good pour. Guiness was particularly good. Now the NOT so good news...1 STAR. We ordered the hot open turkey dinner. Unfortunately it is processed turkey sliced thick with a salty gravy. Went here for lunch recently. The new owners have completely dropped the ball. Sutters Mill was never anything great, but they had decent burgers, sandwiches and wings. We both had burgers which were ok but nothing worth recommending, service was sluggish with a total of 3 tables. BAD country music playing too loud the entire time. Amazing flavor, consistent, large portions. Recently redone inside under new ownership and very clean, cozy, brighter than it was. They even offer live music. I am a little late to my review due to being busy. I went here on Tuesday. My aunt and I arrived an hour before closing. We kinda were hesitant since we did feel bad for showing up this late in the day. Although, my aunt loves the food here and always hoped to take me. It was a privilege to go to one of my aunt's favorite restaurants. The staff allowed ups to come in and choose our seating despite it being an hour before closing, which, most places, tend not to even want to take you in. Instead, they welcomed us with open arms. The waitress was super genuine, humble, and over wonderful. It was shocking how, despite myself being torn between two food options, she was able to sense my aura on which one I really wanted. I never had experienced this ever and thought it was pretty fascinating since most people find myself hard to read. The food came out fresh, was quite tasty and rather filling. My aunt ordered the wings, I ordered the Nashville hot chicken sandwich, and we also added in an order of garlic parmesan fries. The environment was rather quiet, and the remaining staff presumed with their regular closing requirements, while our waitress would help out their other coworkers in closing duties, it didn't prevent them from being attentive as well and regularly checking in. This place is a staple in Rockland for legendary wings and hand crafted burgers that are mouth watering: turkey, beef, bison,... whatever you want! I've been coming here for years and years and the food is still amazing! It's got a full bar and booths on one side of you want to have a quick bite and watch the same and a dining room for family/dates on the other side. Everyone is hospitable and welcoming and it's got the exceptional family restaurant feel that most only see on television. Hello, wanted to come on here to complain about the slow service, went here last year with my friend, we're both teenagers and wanted a cheap ish meal. Last year the service was terrible even with 2 tables in the whole restaurant, the server was talking to us as if she was in a rush. The food was bad and it looked like I could make better at home. This year was a new low, the waitress sat us near the wall at a very dirty table. She asked if we're here for wings, I said no we want menus, it took her a solid 10 minutes to get menus; Granted it was busy when we walked in and it was only her. When she came over with the menus I asked her to explain the wing special and she said ¢75 wings while she was walking away, she was obviously in a rush to the next table, I believe this was because me and my friend are still teenagers and she didn't need to pay attention to us. Fast forward to us getting our food, it took 30 minutes to get to us and when we got it, the fries were cold. My friend ordered a medium rare Sutters burger and it came well done, what a bust. When I was going to ask her for the bill I called the waitress over and she snarled wait at me, I work as a busser in a restaurant, if I did this I would get reprimanded. What she should've done was wait for me to give her my request and walked away, even if it wasn't going to be done right away. She came back and asked just the bill? To which we replied yes. After 10 more minutes the bill was ours, $52 for 2 burgers and 2 sodas and 10 wings; Not too shabby the food was good enough. We gave the waitress the bill and requested the change, I'm going to sound nit picky right now but she didn't give us the cents and only the nearest dollar. We got up and left her no tip. read more

We took a little break from dinner at Sutters but after reading a review about the new kitchen we decided to try it again. Wow! We were NOT disappointed! The burgers were so delicious. They were big, juicy, filling, cooked to perfection. You can add whatever you'd like to create the burger "your way". Yum! Yum! Yum! Sutters will be back in our restaurant rotation. Usually we go to this place mainly for the French onion soup which is IMO the best one around the area. This time I wasn't as hungry and decided to split wings and a burger. The wings were very small but delicious, and I am not sure why but we needed getting 20 and it came out to be almost $7. As per the burger, I ordered a Burger with cheese and bacon- it was huge but the meat didn't have much of a taste. I also ordered it medium rare and it came out well done. Never noticed this place before, probably because it's on the end of a little strip mall at a busy intersection. It came up on my GPS so I tried it. Service was friendly and food was delicious. I had the French Onion Soup and a cheeseburger with cheese fries. I was completely stuffed but it was all soooo good. I had to laugh because the tagline on the menu says, "Great Food at Old Fashioned Prices" and my lunch with tip was $35! Oh well, it was delicious .... I'll share some pictures. Came here one late night, and had a few drinks. I felt that it was kind of expensive for a dive bar. It has a nice setup with a bar and dining area. Jukebox was playing good hits requested by some patrons. The bar has several TV's for sports events. It is located in a shopping center, so plenty of parking. The bartender got one of the drink refills wrong when he asked himself "want another one?". So I don't know how he messed that one up. We ordered simple hamburger's, my friend had no cheese with onion rings. I had cheese burger with French fries. The onion rings were NOT real just chopped up onion formed to look like an onion ring all frozen....terrible!!! Mine had Fries only about 10 poor amount plus asked for well done were not. The roll was about 3/4 to an inch wider than the burger.....terrible presentation looks like "Where's the Beef" slogan. Today I was craving really good wings and I remembered Sutters Mill! When I was a kid Sutters mill had arguably the best wings in Rockland so I called in an order. When I got home and opened the box I found the smallest grossest looking wings (see the pictures for reference). Until today dominoes had the distinction of the most disgusting wings I have ever had. They advertised new menu and we believe in supporting local business. This is NOT the Sutters of yesterday. Terrible from start to finish. Bartender dressed like sloppy. Tank top and shorts??? Really?? Sat down and waited 10 minutes for the 1 waitress to help us. Dining room was fairly busy and she was alone. One bus boy didn't pay attention to us. We finally placed our order for drinks. Vodka tonic was flat! I complained only to find out the tap was broken. Wings were over cooked and dry. Holy crap Sutters , you're known for your wings and these were terrible. Little cups of blue cheese dressing? Not even in a dish?? French onion soup was thick, cloudy, and tasted like it was out of a can. Oktoberfest special Roumelade. Different so I tried it. Terrible. Red cabbage was out of a can and mashed potatoes from a box! Yuchhhh. The bus boy didn't even clear our table when bringing our meals. Asked for a glass of Pinot Noir and was served Pinot Grigio. We looked at the menu online before we visited this establishment. I saw a great looking menu with good pricing. What we found was nothing that the online menu matched the actual menu. Needless to say, we just stayed for 2 drinks and wings because there was nothing enticing to keep us to order a complete dinner. Online, they have a great selection of draft beers and ciders. In actuality, the ciders are bottled and they offer the run of the mill drafts. Online there is a great selection of sandwiches, but in actuality the sandwich menu is half of what you are expecting. Online there were some great steak specials starting at $15 but in actuality they only had 1 steak option for $27. Not impressed with what we saw online compared to what was in actuality, we ordered the wings, which were very good, I ordered a Corona, and my wife's Pinot Grigio was anything but. We came to the conclusion that this is just a local bar, shots and beers, some food and the cheapest wine available because they rarely get a wine order. If you see the menu online, don't salivate what you see because that's all it is....a fantasy. This is my favorite hamburger anywhere!!! I usually get the Swiss burger, but do change it up once in awhile with other cheeses. I still haven't found any burger that comes close. Nice size. Juicy. Delicious!! I've tried a few other dishes too which are good but most of the time it's for a burger. Gravy fries on the side. Yum.
