Went in on a Friday morning and didn't have to wait too long to be seen. The doctor who saw me took time with me to find out what was going on. Everyone was professional and kind. I've been seen multiple times over the last 15 years from relatively minor infections to kidney stones requiring immediate imaging or blood work. Access to diagnostic tools and good medical staff has been excellent. I've slways been happy with the drs or PA's I've seen. I just wanted to say thank you for all the great care I've received at Sutter's urgent care center. Their professional triage is quick and efficient and with just one exception, every single doctor I've seen has been a superb listener, great at diagnosis and kind. It's amazing how with constant overflow patients, every time I've felt my illnesses were a prior ity with these doctors. One doctor probably saved my life. Dr. Sawhney, for some reason at the last minute decided I needed an echocardiogram and it turned out I had Afib. Her action prevented a possible stroke. Everyone's great: the receptionists, the PA's. I called and she says I can COME IN to make the "urgent care" appointment and leave till my time... but my car is not working so I'd have to get Uber there and then leave and pay Uber 4 times? I've been there many times everybody's very positive or helpful. I've never had anything but good service from them.

I've gone to this facility many times over the years and this is a composite view of my care and treatment. Really a 5+ though sometimes slow, sometimes fast, but always good care from the docs and lpn's. It is a lesson in humanity to people-watch the waiting room. Masked and mask-less the room is about evenly split between the patiently waiting and the agitated, agro waiting folks. We are lucky to have them in our community. read more

They are no longer walk-in. You can walk in, but they give you an appointment hours later and you have to come back. You can make an appointment online, but what was available was late in the day at 4:40. I called and they said they had an earlier appointment at 1:00 and I asked to have it. They said they don't make appointments over the phone and I had to come in. I was 10 am at this point. So I drove the 10 miles from Watsonville just to make an appointment. By that time, the 1:00 was gone and they had 2:00. I would have to do a lot of adjustment with my work, so I said make it 4:00. So back to Watsonville to return at 4:00 and wait for a doctor until 5:00. The triage PA had ordered an ultrasound at 10:30, but did not connect with radiology. I was not able to get my ultrasound because that department had gone home. I had to come back the next day. So, one 20 mile round trip just to make an appointment. Another one for my appointment, and a third one because they didn't communicate with radiology. Now I'm on a long hold to get the ultrasound results which they should have called me about. read more

As far as urgent cares go, this is a great one! The people at the front checking people in were very busy and had a lot to deal with, however, from triage, to the nurse practitioner, to be in seen by the doctor, everyone was really kind and delightful! I wish I knew the nurse practitioners name because she was so incredibly helpful, and allowed me to be seen late in the evening at a time when they were just taking the most dire cases. Because she allowed me to be moved to the next step, where I could talk to the doctor, I got what I needed sorted out, and that was so important!! It was such a massive help! Dr. Sawhney was incredibly knowledgeable and knew just what tests to give me, as well as explaining things, thoroughly, in ways I could understand. She was also incredibly kind and caring at a time when I really needed that! I believe they have changed the way they are doing things, and I believe there are walkins only at a certain time, otherwise they only triage and take the most dire cases. So before going, I would call ahead to make sure that you can walk in and be seen! Overall, a really incredible staff and very clean facilities! read more

Not certain as to whether I can lump in Urgent Care Main, the lab, and radiology into one summary review, but. And speaking of butts, I am currently dealing with a somewhat horrific GI issue... UC Main: from check-in to being seen by Dr. Molinaro this morning, I was treated with empathy, kindness, and urgency. Molinaro is fantastic, down-to-earth, thorough. My only complaint: he is not a primary care provider (but something tells me he's far more valuable in his current role). Lab: not painless, but quick, friendly, and here's that word again: empathetic. Radiology: the entire staff (check-in, X-ray tech, CT scan techs) did their best to make me feel ...at home. And less embarrassed about that aforementioned horrific GI issue. There is no magic pill for what ails me, but we're well on the road to finding out what in the heck is wrong. On that thread, we live in a culture obsessed with immediate gratification. Quite a few medical problems aren't solved with a single visit, a bottle of pills, or with the wave of a wand; I only wish more patients would consider this before slinging ugly reviews... read more

What a great place to receive care! I was greeted and treated well at this location. During the entirety of my visit, the service and total processing time was incredible. I definitely recommend this location for all of your urgent-care needs! I gave four stars because I only saw one Black employee. I would love for Sutter to embrace more African American employees or DEI. read more

Care once accessible is good. However I called in with covid and requested a televisit to access antiviral meds. They said protocols have changed and I had to go in in person to get a later day appt. They come back again. So 2 visits in 1 day when I am contagious and really sick. Not a good system!!!! read more

Worse quality of care. No help whatsoever. Didn't provide a doctor for me to talk to when needed. I have a foot fracture. Prim care told me to go to Urgent care. I got no support and did not get to see a doctor. Only talked to an intake person who said go to ER then. Leaving PAMF when I can. Such an attitude at this location. Unfriendly receptionist staff and long wait times. They do not care about the patient. In addition, if you need an urgent care facility, do not go here. There are much better clinics in town, such as the one on 41st or on Ocean St. We ended up going to one of those, where we were treated like human beings and did not have to wait for hours. Let's go back to Dr Tam Holbert being the one to correctly diagnose my bad a$$ kidney stone when the hospital did not. That was years ago. I still remember being in the BEST hands. Dr Christiansen was awesome as well. Let's go to today where Dr Lauren (Jill Lauren) entertained my need to document a bug bite (?) and explain what she could of a test that was only half done. (First blood work result looked scary, sounded like it was complete to me in my o line login, it's not complete - she gets it, helped.) Hours are generous - 8am-9pm every day! Good parking! Decent location across from Jeffrey's Restaurant. And all around PROFESSIONAL, amazing staff. Whatever you do? Get an online account where you can view results real time, anytime. I don't think you could ever convince me that the PAMF Main Urgent Care Branch is anything less that A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. They are so amazing that I have never secured my own doctor. This is a review of the office at PAMF. PAMF does not have capacity to serve the county obviously. I scheduled an online 10:00 am appointment. Took the morning off work. Arrived five minutes early to my appointment at the Soquel site. No parking. Drove around. Finally a spot opened up at 10:05. Went inside to check-in. Waited in line five more minutes. Then when I got invited up to the desk to checked-in, I was told "Since you arrived late ( it's was, by that time, 10:10 am) you can just take a seat and then they'll let you know IF the doctor decides to see you". I'm sitting in the waiting room now writing this. 10:30AM. Saw the doctor, she was very good but she seemed quite rushed. I know she's a good doctor from past experiences and my heart goes out to her. I talked fast and we packed it all into five minutes because I could see she was flustered. Now I know that parking is a problem at this facility, that the patient will get blamed for being late after being forced to wait, so I'll have to switch doctors. The overall check-in and check-out experience was stressful. The PAMF on Soquel feels like an overbooked factory. I arrived happy and left stressed. I felt like a burden on them. I'm going to request a primary care doctor in south county. This facility is over-crowded and understaffed obviously. 11:30 AM: arrived at the PAMF on Green Valley in south county to schedule the lab test, as directed by the doctor on Soquel, and to request a doctor in south county, as suggested by the doctor on Soquel. The receptionist pulled up my file on the computer. She told me, "you can go back now for the blood draw." I said, "don't I need to fast first?" She said, "no." I said, "are you sure?" She looked at the computer and then she said, "oh, wait, yes, you're not fasting?!" I said "No, I just came from the doctor's office with the lab request on file, to schedule an appointment for the blood draw that you see there on your computer." Then, the receptionist said, (no kidding) "my first appointment is Saturday at 8:30am unless you'd like to just walk in anytime." Wait. What? I asked for clarification. She said, you can walk in for the blood draw." Okay..... so then I asked, "what time does the lab open tomorrow?" She said "7:30". So I asked, just to be sure, "So, I can arrive tomorrow at 7:30am for the blood draw?" And she said "yes". And I clarified, "and do I need to fast first?" And she said "yes". Okay, so I know I'm crazy but I had one more question for the receptionist at the Green Valley office. I told her that I was seeking a doctor in South County, and that the doctor that I'd just seen on Soquel suggested that I ask here about getting a primary care doctor in Watsonville and if she had a list of available physicians that I could have. Here is what she replied: "Okay, so, um, we have a pause on all new requests to get new doctors until August 1st so, um, you can come back the first week of August and find out". No kidding. Zero primary care doctors available in south county. No waiting list. No list. No sign-up. No form. No advice. Nothing. Just a "sorry, come back in two months and we'll put you on 'the list' then." And I asked, "how about specialists?" And of course her answer was "sorry, there is a pause on all new requests for new doctors until August 1st." Unbelievable. read more

Out of all urgent cares in the county this is the best place to go. Very helpful and nice front desk women. They brought me through right away to see a doctor about my broken nose. I have had 3 consecutive, positive experiences with Sutter Health's Urgent Care over the last year and a half. Each time, I call beforehand to "schedule" an urgent care appointment, and I'm never kept waiting more than 5-10 minutes. The staff is consistently kind, thoughtful, and professional in their communication. They are incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about different health-related topics (as one would hope!), and they are genuine in their human connection with patients. The front desk at the lab is extremely rude. They told me I needed paperwork from my doctor for some routine bloodwork. I told them when I have gotten bloodwork before I was not given any paperwork by my provider, the front desk man told me I was wrong and was very dismissive. In addition the parking here is terrible-get a bigger parking lot! read more

Not sure why there are negative reviews here! I had to go to urgent care today for a suspected sinus infection. I'm only living in Santa Cruz for the year so I don't have a PCP and was pretty nervous. However, the Sutter facility was clean, easy to navigate, and the care I received here was top notch!! The front desk folk were very kind and clear with their instructions. The nurses that took my vitals and showed me to my room were just as kind and professional. I walked in at about 12:15pm and they set me up with an appointment at 2:00pm, which was sooner than I expected. I actually like their system of giving out timeslots as opposed to waiting in the waiting room for hours as I've experienced at other health care facilities. Just like the other workers, the doctor that saw me was very attentive to my needs and listened patiently to everything I had to say. She was awesome. If I ever fall ill again I am definitely coming back here. read more

This is for the site on Soquel across from Jeffreys. I'm giving this a 5-star rating because I don't think it's fair to judge the entire experience on the facial hair and fashion choices of the staff. They get you in and out pretty darn quick. Everyone who I've encountered had been friendly and helpful. I feel they have acted in a professional manner and did their jobs well. I highly recommend. But, here's the big but... I went in recently with a somewhat urgent medical problem and was happy to find they were able to get me in within about 45 seconds after checking in. Once the medical assistant took vitals and such, he let me know the doctor would come in within minutes. Well, someone came in and I can't quite say it was a doctor. Truth be told he looked like a bad decision I made about 5 years ago at Callahan's one crazy night...hair like he just walked through a wind tunnel, a couple of days growth of scruffy beard, rumpled ill fitting casual clothing and a kind of 'hey dude, how's it hanging' attitude. Now don't get me wrong, the doctor was very nice, and very knowledgeable, but I literally spent the first 5 minutes trying to decide if he was actually the doctor or some surfer dude who wandered in. He sat down and kind of sprawled on the countertop with his elbows and arms and it just took me by surprise, I thought he going to take a nap. Normally, I couldn't care less what people wear or how they present themselves, but when I'm not feeling well, and feeling vulnerable, I don't want the guy who looks like he just rolled out of bed delivering the news of my impending death. It just doesn't give one a real strong faith in a doctor's skills when he looks like he took a romp through the giant dryer at the laundromat. I understand many medical facilities are easing up on doctor attire to make doctors more approachable. I get it. I don't want my doctor approachable though. I want him or her to be dressed in a manner that makes me believe they wanted to come to work this morning and I didn't interrupt their grooming ritual. There is a certain dignity and expectation one has when a doctor is well groomed and neatly presented. I don't need the lab coat or anything super doctor-y; but well fitting pants, an ironed shirt, nicely groomed hair and if a doctor is growing a beard, then take the time to groom it so you don't look like a wildebeest. Also, the guy was so sloppy, his name lanyard was turned around, so I couldn't even identify him. I seriously was concerned those first couple of minutes and was about to ask him who the heck he was when I decided he was probably a doctor because he was saying doctor-y things. Again, he was a good doctor and I have no complaints whatsoever about the service--just would like him to know that when people are sick or injured, they are looking for someone they can immediately trust and part of that trust comes from appearance. Take a little time to put yourself together. If you wouldn't wear it to court or church (as my mother used to say) then don't wear it to work in a hospital. So frustrated. There are NO doctors available in all of Santa Cruz county, or within a 50 mile radius of my home. I've been on a waiting list for over a year since giving birth and no longer seeing my OB. I finally had a breaking point and went to Urgent Care, where I was told they couldn't help me and that I needed to see a PCP or go to the ER. I went to the ER and was told I needed to see a PCP. I'm now out my $500 hospital copay and am still waiting to see a doctor. So glad I pay $1200 month for insurance. What a joke. read more

I have been going here for many years and have never had a bad experience. I've come with my children and for myself numerous times for things such as stitches, fractured bones , ear infections, pneumonia and bladder infections. Today I brought my daughter in for a sinus infection. Everyone has always been nice and we have always felt well taken care of. Yes, we have waited hours before but that is expected at an urgent care. We have to visit the urgent care when there are no available appointments in pediatrics which happens all the time unfortunately. read more

I have been going to Pamf for the past 15 years I only go to the main for emergencies because the wait is generally the worst compared to other locations. This just blew my mind today. I had to go because I could not physically drive to a further one since this is 2 minutes from my house. I checked in fine was actually feeling very lightheaded and said I felt like I was going to pass out. Well whatever I paid my copay and sat down. Got called in to the triage. My blood pressure was super high and I told them my symptoms, nose had bled the worst ever I felt nauseous, dizzy, weak lightheaded. Got sent back to wait for 2 hours! Finally got called in a room and was told I'd have to wait for... she had no answer on that question. Did nothing didn't ask how I felt or if I needed anything or worst didn't even recheck my vitals after waiting 2 HOURS!!! I sat there for 30 minutes at that point I had used the bathroom watched drs eating burritos people laughing and chit chatting. Went back to my room and felt like why was I here. Started to cry. I walked out crying feeling rejected and hopeless. Oh the tag on my door said nose bleed... like I'm a 5 year old with a little blood on my shirt or something! I said I'm leaving this is insane. Asked for my deposit back when I got home. Receptionist boss said I could get it if I came back in! Wtf. No never.Ill be seeing my primary dr tomorrow thankfully I didn't pass out but what a shitty place and I've never in my 39 years of living in Santa Cruz have I experienced this type of "care" or "service " . I am in a big rush to get well for a trip very soon. So I sat over 3+ hrs in PAMF URGENT CARE over the weekend, and Nurse-Practioner DOWDEN wasted a lot of time, giving me no diagnosis, no first aid advice, and no xray feedback or report then or later. She made numerous promises, even promising twice to phone me later, and she never did one single thing she said she would even when I later called the Department and left another message. I am rapidly trying to piece together what I should have gotten as a result of seeing her! All in all seeing her slowed me down a lot in taking care of this because I trusted her. This is terrible quality of service, unlike typical Palo Alto Medical Foundation. read more

I came here after being dismissed by a doctor at another urgent care. I had a high fever that when on for 7 days at this point, and the staff here really listened and wasted no time doing what the could Dr Christina Brady was absolutely amazing, sent me down for chest X-rays right away, discovered pneumonia, and had me on an IV for fluids and meds in no time. I felt so much better just getting such good care from them. I wish I knew my nurse's name because she was wonderful too. This is definitely the place to go if/when the need arises. I really hesitated going, because of the other doctor, but they restored my faith in the health care system. I hope to not need to see them much, at their workplace, but I am so grateful to know where to go if I need to. read more
