I came here on a busy Saturday night, feeling hungry and wanting to eat Thai food. Instead of repeating the story, I'll give my take on the experience. The pad thai was a bit disappointing for me as I was hoping for a plate of fresh orange-tinted noodles with lots of flavor. Instead, a plate of brownish noodles with mild flavor were served. It was a bit too pan-fried for my taste but I can understand that folks can make the same dish differently. I read from previous comments that the fried tofu was definitely something to try - so I did, and have found a new staple for when I visit Thai restaurants. I particularly enjoyed the crunchiness of the larger peanuts in its sweet chili sauce. The low prices of the items were definitely a plus - I drove a little bit down to Thai Tastee 2 and noticed the marked up prices and lack of patrons! However, it's the mom and pop feel you get that would bring you back. You know it's authentic and the people serving you genuinely care about their patrons and quality of their food. Parking is a bit haphazard on a busy night (the other businesses are closed though) and count on not being able to get seating on a weekend. Sutha is my favorite Thai restaurant in the Tustin/Irvine area. The food tastes very 'real', like the ingredients are fresh and nutritious. None of the dishes have been a disappointment. I especially like the lunch specials. For a reasonable price, you get an entree, little wonton appetizer, and soup or salad. The panang curry is extremely good, and the yellow curry is the best I've had. I typically order medium spice, which adds a bit of a kick but is never overwhelming. The portions on the lunch menu are exactly right. I never leave hungry, but I'm not overstuffed by the end, either. Other highlights include the pumpkin curry, the BBQ pork fried rice, and the tom ka kai soup. The service is always friendly and prompt, and even though the restaurant is quite small, I have never had to wait more than a couple minutes for a table. Sutha has a casual, family-owned sort of atmosphere. Except for the lunch specials, all the menu items are served family style. It's more fun if you bring a couple friends and share a variety of dishes. Most of the tables accommodate four people. Note that it's closed on Sundays. I have been going at least once a week to this place since it opened and it is one of the best thai restaurants in Orange County. The food is very genuine and authentic and made fresh to order. One of the few thai restaurants that makes the food really spicy if you like it that way. The curries are absolutely fantastic. The best is the panang with beef and the pineapple curry with chicken. The yellow curry with chicken and the Massaman curry are also excellent. If you don't like curries, the pad kee mow (spicy noodle), pad thai, and spicy fried rice are all excellent. Vegetables are always fresh and crisp and the noodles are cooked perfect, not a clumpy mess. The soups are pretty good and I recommend the hot and sour thai soup with coconut milk. The sauces are all fantastic and the seafood is fresh and delicious. If you go you MUST try the sticky rice with mango. Overall, this place has great food and prices that can't be beat. Sutha Thai is a charming hidden gem in Tustin! The inside is on the smaller side, but they have a super cute, cozy outdoor patio that is perfect for a relaxed meal. When we dined in, we were the only customers at the table, though they seem to do a very brisk takeout business. The Food: Chicken Dumplings & Drunken Noodles: Both were delicious, flavorful, and hit the spot. Fish Cakes: They were good, but they had a bit too many lime leaves mixed in, which didn't quite sit right with our palates. If you're sensitive to strong herbal flavors, you might want to skip this one or ask if they can modify it. Service & Value: The service was incredibly friendly and attentive. On top of that, the portions are quite generous, the pricing is very decent for the quality, and they offer free parking--which is always a massive plus in this area. If I could give this place ZERO stars, I would. I had seen the glowing reviews here and wanted to try Sutha Thai, so I went. I entered the restaurant and picked up a menu, perused it, decided what I'd like, set the menu down, and then stood there near the front for another few minutes. In that time, the server went past me twice, *bumping into me* and neither looking at me nor acknowledging my presence in any way. The cashier was in and out of the kitchen, and she, too, never once acknowledged me, though I am certain she saw me standing there. I found this place a while back by accident near my office. It is a small hole in the wall type restaurant and I wasn't expecting much at all. I have been to at least 5 different Thai places around Irvine and Tustin and really could not find one I liked. Sutha was far beyond my expectations. The food is fresh and tastes great. Their prices are also unbeatable. I tried several dishes there and they were all really good. The service is also excellent and the staff is friendly. It is definitely my go to place now for Thai food. None of the other more expensive restaurants can compete with the good tasting food here. Highly recommend it! read more

Been eating and ordering to go from this place for years. The food is decent and no complaints about service... until today. Ordered yellow curry lunch special to go. Picked up and came home to find the plastic caps broken and floating in the food (attached pictures). Seeing as I don't want other customers to get plastics in their diet, I called to warn them about it. First sentence from Andy "it was fine when I packaged it at restaurant." For a small Thai restaurant, Sutha does offer good food at a fair price. Although it might be small and crowded, the food tastes great. Yet you can feel that family business air since when it gets busy since it sometimes takes time to get your food and even your check at the end. Overall, I love the food, especially the panang. It's very delicious and it's one of the best curry options Sutha has to offer in my opinion. I drive past Sutha ThaI Kitchen every day to/ from work and have been dying to give them a try. Finally made the stop yesterday for dinner and was very pleased with the food. First let me say that Sutha's is best suitable for take-out. Not many tables for seating and people are constantly running in & out to pick up their to-go orders. I had the Pad Thai with tofu and my wife had the orange chicken with white rice. Good size portions with lots of flavor. This place has the most incredible Thai food and all of Tustin. We went there one night with my wife's father and had a nice sitdown dinner. The pa nang was particularly curry licious especially when mixed with rice. The pad Thai was delicious also. The only problem with the place is I have been there in the past and it had it been too crowded because it's very small and only has about six tables. Also a lot of people order takeout so sometimes the food can be a little slow coming out but it is worth it. read more

My husband suggested we go check this place out after seeing the reviews online. We had mixed feelings on this one. I fell in love with the tasty rice. I went with the mango sticky rice so many people were raving about and could not be happier with my choice. My husband went with the fried rice and bbq pork and said it was good. Fortunately, we discovered a small, inconspicuous Thai restaurant on Irvine Boulevard near Newport. Despite its modest appearance, the service was exceptional, and the green curry was particularly delectable. This place is the best in town if your looking for a great curry! While the dining area is small, and you have to walk by a few tables to get to the register to pay, the food is worth the small inconvenience. The staff is always nice, polite, and attentive. Such a great thai place! You would be surprised just how extravagent the dishes are, this is a real hole in the wall place. Its Tiny, very little parking, but the tables are always full with people lined up outside to pick up their takeout orders. Its really that good. read more
