I've been on the search for a good thai place near my house and this does the job. Its a super small place which I liked, nothing fancy. Started with the thai iced tea with tapioca which was delicious. Got 2 noodle dishes and the curry. Everything was very good but the curry was the real winner. I forget which one it was but it had eggplant and bamboo shoots in it. I'm not a huge fan of spice but this had just enough to give me a kick but not to overpower. I recommend this dish. This is one of my favorite Thai restaurants in the Orange County area. My friends and I go here all the time to get our Thai food fix. The pan fried dumplings are good, but our favorites are the pad see ew and the tom ka kai. The seafood soup and the mango with sticky rice are my favorites also. The place is a cute small place with a great crew. I love the server. He always smiles. He also sent over one of the cooks to show us how to make a flower out of a carrot. With the help of Yelp, I decided to try this place. It's close to my work. I figured I couldn't go wrong with their less than $10 lunch specials. Yelp informed me that their soup with the lunch specials could be tom yum and tom kha. I ordered the basil leaves lunch special with fried rice and soup. It filled me up, but I've had better. I was expecting to get tom yum as my soup. I should have called before going, just my luck, I had tom kha.Theres a reason why their lunch specials are cheap. I don't think I'll be coming back. In Irvine there are very few good Thai food places to eat at. This is one of the closest around. We got there on a Friday night and it was packed. Now keep in mind its like 250 square feet so its a tight fit. The staff was running around taking orders and busing tables. we ordered Chicken Curry-- it was ok, the curry flavor seemed to have been missing and the chicken was a little tough. Went here with the wife last night. Have driven by this shopping center for decades and never had a reason to stop. As described earlier, this is a whole in the wall. I don't think the place could hold 24 people, more like 16 and 6 outside. When we got there, there were six people eating and a to go order waiting. Our order was taken immediately, then we waited. Two people working the dining room and sounded like two in the kitchen. We were not in a hurry so this was OK. When the food came out it tasted very good although not as spicy as I was expecting. I had the Yellow Pork Curry and requested very spicy, not so much. The flavor though was very good. The wife had Shrimp Pad Thai, this was very good. This is a good spot to go to when you're craving Thai and want a hefty serving for your money. It's very small with an even smaller parking lot, so plan accordingly. The lunch special is a great deal: entree, fried wontons, your choice of soup or salad, and rice (or more noodles if you chose a noodle dish). I believe it was around $8 but after tax and tip I paid close to $10. I chose pad thai with tom yum soup. The service was great and you can tell they're invested in their customers but this place really is just 3 stars for me when it comes to food. The pad thai came in a really large portion- I couldn't finish it all in one sitting and had more than enough for a second meal. I still enjoyed it, but the flavor was a little lacking. The tom yum soup wasn't as strong in flavor as I'm used to (typically I like my broth a lot darker with tomatoes, mushrooms, shrimps, lemongrass, etc). Their version is a bit more watered down with cauliflower and a few other veggies- good, but not great. Overall, I wouldn't mind coming back to try the curry dishes which seem to be pretty popular. I ordered a Pad Thai chicken and Thom Kai chicken soup. I told them to make it very spicy. Both were very delicious. I will definitely come back and try their desert like the sticky mango. The price is not bad either it's comparable to other Thai restaurant. I just wish this is closer to my house. read more

The restaurant was very small, so my family had to wait a while for a table. Imagine a hungry three-year-old waiting around for 20 minutes. Not a pretty sight. Great Thai food BUT the place is tiny and I do mean TINY. Only 6 tables and you're pretty much bumping elbows with everyone. I suggest ordering "to go". This place is pretty great. I love small places like this one it could be both good and bad because if you don't time it right you might need to wait a little. However I did not. I had the Beef Pad Kee Mao I've been to a lot of Thai restaurants before and this place didn't really give me a lot of food in comparison to others but the quality of the food is great! I think if you are looking for most bang for your buck their lunch specials are pretty great deals. Side note: my gf got the Red Curry and she told me that it was the best she had. Sadly since the old owners moved the restaurant which was a 5 star gem has gone down. The new owners just don't seem to cook the food with the same recipes. There is no longer a good local Thai The old owners have moved somewhere up near the 91 and called a different name I believe. read more

One of the best places in Orange County for Thai! Don't miss out, they just did a remodel and it looks great. Unfortunately the location is small but I guarantee it's worth the wait. The red curry is delicious and the coconut soup is out of this world served with traditional fire. Hidden in a small strip mall next to the fire station. Parking is minimal in to private lot but at dinner you won't have a hard time finding a spot as the other businesses are closed. There is street parking on the side too. If the weather permits there is outdoor seating. Spicy is the key here and don't be afraid to request it hot if that is your thing! Fried rice is just as yummy-we haven't had a bad dish to be honest and they are always so friendly. Great for takeout. read more

Tried this place out in search of a new Thai spot. It was ok. The best part of the meal was the mangos and rice YUM YUM...the best I have ever had. The pad thai I ordered was a bit bland. It needed extra veggies and a bit of spice. I did appreciate that it was not greasy just wish it had more veggies and flavor! I was in search of a good Thai place near my home and found the positive yelp reviews on this place. It's literally a hole in the wall with barely any seats and tables. I walked in on a Thursday afternoon, and the inside was blazing hot; it's obvious there was no air conditioning in the joint. The service was friendly and the selection on the menu was excellent. The Thai place my family and I usually go to doesn't make duck curry, but this place sure does. Unfortunately, I didn't see on the menu until after I placed my order. I will definitely try it the next time I go. As for the food, it was pretty darn good, although it wasn't as heavy in flavor like the usual Thai places we eat at. We ordered the Pad Thai, Pad Seew, and Chicken Panang Curry. The curry burst with yummy coconut and basil flavors and was my favorite. The two noodle dishes were good, but not exceptional; as I mentioned, they were kind of light in flavor. Overall, this place delivers if you live close by, so I plan on taking full advantage of this. This unassuming hole in the wall has quickly become my staple for Thai food. The first time I tried Sutha Thai, I ordered for delivery. It took close to an hour to receive my food. The next time, I ordered take-out. My "20 minutes" wait turned into 40 minutes. I'm not sure if they had a lot of take-out orders and that was the delay, but there were only 2 tables occupied on that Tuesday. Regardless, any gripe had is washed away once you get into that food. Came here because my friend and I were craving Thai food and decided on this place because of the review. Ordered the chicken pad thai and beef pad see yew during dinner hours for $8.99 each. Kind of expensive for a small mom and pop restaurant. Pad thai was pretty good whereas the pad see yew wasn't up to par but still satisfactory nonetheless. The noodles weren't as soft and moist and our food wasn't as hot as it should be. We also added a Thai tea in which they put too much milk into our drink, making it light orange as opposed to the traditional orange colored Thai tea. Lots of choices for Vegetarians and they don't charge extra for fries rice instead of white rice. Panang curry (green) was fantastic and so was Kang Ka Ree. My girlfriend and I eat out a lot. We make a habit of testing new places to find particularly flavorful dishes. We tend to jump around from restaurant to restaurant, but we've definitely found our go-to Thai place in Sutha. Though the wait is long, the food is, by and large, very worth it. I'm a fan of yellow curry and this is, by far, the best yellow curry I've had in all of Southern California. My lady friend, on the other hand, is a seafood snob and she adores this place for their incredible ability to serve perfect scallops. Something you usually find only in establishments holding a Michelin star. Long and the short of it, we are extremely impressed with the food here, so much so, that I can completely ignore their lapses in service and hour wait time. read more
