Decided to give this a try since I drive by all the time. We went in for lunch special for $8. I had the yellow curry, which was smooth but a little on the sweet side. Then another person in my party has the Pad Thai with tofu, which she liked a lot. The only thing I wasn't fans of was the lettuce and shrimp in the spring roll, they just had a weird taste. Whoa what happen to this place? It was my go to Thai spot for this area for almost 10 years. We ordered 5 dishes and each one was so bad. The different meats in each dish tasted so dry and had a rubber texture like it was saved from previous days and reheated. I even got sick the next day from a mild case of food poisoning. read more

Ive been coming here for years! Its right by my house and it never fails! If you love thai food this place is the best! The food is always delicious. Theres tons of choices for everyone my personal favorite is their fried rice or seafood soup! The place is small and hidden but the employees, even though weak in english, very sweet and attentive. There are limited parking and there is a sign that says the bathroom is outside? Yea I'm all set with that. The service was good for us bc there was only one other table but lots of take out orders. The waitress was extremely nice and friendly. We went for an early dinner on friday and she was the only waitress. We are on a hunt for the best thai food and this is by far the best. WARNING: PORTIONS ARE VERY SMALL AS OF DATE. Do not be fooled by the price. You get LESS THAN what you pay for. The portions are VERY VERYYY SMALLLLL. I was SOOO shocked when I saw my order to go. I ordered through Postmates and I thought it was a mistake at first when I saw how small of a portion I received. I feel ripped off and cheated. The taste is not the same anymore just salty. I'm very disappointed to have to write this review, but I think we need to hold business owners accountable as well as informing the public of unsanitary practices. This business was shutdown a few days ago (see attached photo) by the health department for roach infestation. This is unacceptable and I will never eat here again. My wife and I truly loved this place, but when new ownership took over, the food was not nearly as tasty as it was previously. This is sad because we really use to love this place. read more

Only complaint: the restaurant is too damn small. Other than that, the food is fresh, delicious, and although it doesn't come out really quickly, you can tell they take the time to cook it right. Come during lunch, when they have specials for $6.50, which can fill you up pretty easily. Additionally, Thai food can be pretty filling anyway. And get their brown rice instead of white or fried rice; it tastes really good here. My experience at a Thai restaurant is not complete until I've had their Larb and Mango Sticky Rice. Came here on a random Thai craving and was not disappointed. I ordered the Pad Kee Mow.. The noodles were perfect, and the veggies fresh and crisp. It had mushrooms in it which I don't commonly see in this dish, and they were delicious. My serving was also quite large; I took more than half home. This place has really gone down all around in my book. If you look at my past reviews I used to rank this as my top fave thai place. It's so HIT or MISS these days and very inconsistent. I tend to pick up my orders or get it through Postmates or Door Dash these days. Customer service is really depending on who you get. The portions they pack you are SUPER small these days. I feel cheated. An order of Pad See Ew for example is barely a full portion. Also, the taste of food just isn't the same anymore. My last experience a few days ago was a to go order. It seems like they don't understand how to follow instructions? I asked for extra fish sauce w/ chilli peppers on the side and they packed NONE. Not even any sauce, no utensils, nothing. Also I ordered a side of white rice and they packed it half full, not even enough for one person. This isn't a cheaply priced place either. LIVID I tell you. I'd rather go the extra mile and head to Nine & Nine Thai to get my food from now on. Much better quality, portions and service. read more

My physical being has not eaten here at this location per se, but did get food delivered from here! The order was put in relatively quickly and I got the order with little delay in wait time, so I applaud them on their efficiency with online orders! (I ordered through PostMates if that helps anyone!) I feel like the food is reasonably priced - Thai entrees under 10 dollars is definitely a steal. I've ordered here several times off of Uber Eats and Sutha curbs my Thai food craving. Every. Time. My go-to dishes: - Pa Nang Curry: This curry is vibrant, and yet comforting. I crave this particular curry weekly, and always order it with chicken as the protein despite my usual reservations with chicken (see my other reviews) -- the chicken has never been dry, and is a nice balance to the how flavorful the curry is. They don't skimp on the protein in this curry and because this dish also comes with a side a rice, it can be a meal in itself, or if you're fat kid like me... an appetizer. - Pad See Ew: I've tried this noodle dish with beef or pork protein options on different occasions, and have found the ratio of meat to noodles to always been on point. Overall, the dish is sauced just right, never oily, and portion size is good. The only dish that I have tried from Sutha Thai that I have been slightly disappointed in is the Garlic Pepper entree, which I ordered with beef as the protein. This is simply because I felt that the portion size was lacking, even though you are given a side of rice. Flavor was good, but in comparison to other dishes I have ordered, this entree still left me hungry and wanting more. If you're going to order from Uber Eats, rest assured that Sutha Thai packages their take out orders well. I have yet to find even a drop of my precious pa nang curry spilled inside of the plastic bag upon delivery! Even with my noodle orders, I have found that they take the extra step to use foil to line the styrofoam container to keep the food not only hot, but the food moist (I know, I hate that word too) -- just be sure to remove if you plan on not eating immediately and re-heating in the microwave later!! read more

Okay so I'm a regular here. I've never bothered to check their yelp page or even write a review because I've been coming for so long and knew it was super bomb already. I recently looked them up out of curiosity and I'm perplexed at how they have such bad reviews ?!???? Seriously guys this isn't some fancy high class five star restaurant, yeah it's a bit on the smaller side but each time I've come it's been impeccably clean and their foods honestly the best. I grew up in the inland and there's a TON of Thai food joints up there. I've had my fair share of different Thai dishes because my parents live and breathe for Thai food, and I would just like to say I haven't been able to go to any other Thai place ever since I discovered this one. My dad normally gets the curry dish and I either get the chicken pad tay or the beef pad see-yew. And both are mouth watering good. It comes out steaming each time and their noodles are so flavorful and tasty. Their noodles are so satisfyingly chewy and goes perfect with their Thai iced tea. I've noticed a lot of people do take out which is pretty smart since there aren't a tonnnn of tables in the restaurant. I AM SO BUMMED AND DISGUSTED. I love Thai food and I was super excited to find this place on door dash... Looks like a really good deal had pretty good reviews, and delivery time was quick... Ordered the Yellow and Panang curries. Yellow curry was a little bit sweeter than I'm used to but it was still pretty good, and the Panang was not terrible but definitely not as good as other ones I've had before. But, everything was still good I was in my happy place eating my Thai food that was a good deal that I would have definitely ordered again until... I can't even say it it makes me wanna throw up...A FREAKING HAIR. . I can't even write it and reread it that's how disgusting this is... Anyways once that happened I paused I couldn't eat anything anymore I threw away what I had in my bowl and told myself it was probably a hair that somehow gotten to the bowl from the time I transferred the food from the container to my bowl. Well, about an hour ago I decided to go in for leftovers trying not to think about yesterday...when, as I was pulling out the mint from the Panang curry...a looonggg black hair was twisted tightly around the mint or basil or whatever green herb was in there . So unfortunately I am stuck here trying not to throw up, call door Dash got a refund and I'm super bummed because I have to write this negative review which I hate writing, and I legitimately don't think I can ever look at Thai curry ever again. I don't know if owner ship changed or a new chef but this place is not what it use to be. My seafood soup had no seafood except for 1 shrimp and a couple muscle. The muscle was old hard and sour. My fried rice was horrible. I don't know how you can mess up fried rice but perhaps maybe don't fill 40% of it with mushroom. For some reason everything was sour tasted old and had a horrible smell. I use to come to this place before COVID and it was wonderful. This was the second time I've given this place a chance and thought it was just a fluke but I highly do not recommend this place anymore. Seafood is clearly extremely old and sour. I've gotten take-out from here and I have not been disappointed. The dining area is not very big, but they seem to make it work. Parking is limited, but sufficient for a quick pick up. The food is great! I love the shrimp pad thai, it's not too saucy and not dry either. I like the lunch special because it's just enough food to get me full. The food is at a fair price and has a nice authentic flavor. I would not necessarily recommend this place for big groups because it has a small dining area. Yayyyy...I'm a fan now of this place. :D Yes...it is a small place...not too many people there even though we went on a Saturday. I could not find any vegetarian appetizer on the menu. When it comes to the main course...Veggie lovers, listen up ...I betcha this place is for you. They can customize any dish without meat, fish sauce or by adding/not adding any ingredient to satisfy your taste buds. Best pad thai i have ever had. My friend tried panang curry and extremely satisfied with it. If you like any dish to be spicy, order it to be hot instead of medium coz there medium is not really spicy. :) Well well well...the tapioca thai iced coffee is tastyyyyy. I am a big fan of sticky rice with mango and try to place an order for it. The lady suggested sticky rice with beans instead...n we took a chance of trying that for a change and it turned out to be really good as well. Worst Thai food I have ever had. I've ordered Tom Ka Kai here two times already because apparently I have not learned my lesson. It straight up just tastes like trash. Tom Ka Kai is Chicken Coconut Soup. What this place serves up is Cream, Unseasoned chicken with barely a hint of spice. Really, it's so freakin bland I didn't even get through half of the pot I ordered because it felt like I was eating a cocktail of cream and chili pepper. This soup probably only has a combination of three things which accounts for its taste and color. It really is the freaking worst and I want my money back. $11 for this crap when I can buy a bottle of Nestle cream, some chili pepper and cheap sliced chicken and call it a day. We even tried to improve the soup by adding lemon to it but that just made it taste like spoilt milk. At that point, we just gave up. I will never eat here again. It is certainly not appetizing to look at tiny walls with a poor selection of colors. I like to come to Sutha Thai when I have the cravings for Thai food. It is a REALLY tiny place on Irvine Blvd, so you might miss it. There are probably less than five tables inside along with maybe another two or three outside. Despite the size of this place, I have never had to wait for a seat, there was always space. In fairness, some people might think that because it is never busy, I do feel like I see a lot of people who pick up food through Postmates, etc. for delivery, so I guess even though it isn't crowded, a lot of people are ordering to go or delivery. I really enjoy the food here. When I come here, my favorite dishes to get is the panang curry, the eggplant, the tom yum, the pad thai and the pad kee mow. The tom yum has a nice sour taste to it that doesn't feel watered down or anything. Both the pad thai and pad kee mow have a perfect amount of seasoning. The mild is a nice and pleasant kick to the food and it isn't too sweet. It is a perfect blend of savory and sweet. My only complaint about the curry (okay maybe not the curry itself) is that they give so much sauce compared to the two tiny scoops of rice you get with your order! The frugal side of me wants to order more rice just so all the curry doesn't go to waste! Either that, or I wish they gave a little more rice with their orders. The service here is really quick and friendly. There are usually about 1 or 2 people waiting tables so have some patience! We ordered food to be delivered to our office. While the food was very good, the won ton soup didn't have ANY won tons in it, and a portion of our order was missing. One person's lunch entree wasn't included with the order. After multiple phone calls trying to deal with a very unaccommodating person, and a two hour wait, the food still didn't come. I was told that the order was coming but that appeared to be a lie. The last phone call to the restaurant, I was told that it was the fault of the delivery driver, however, we asked him and he advised that he is not allowed to open the bags or containers to verify the the order is correct. Dealing with them on the phone was a truly unpleasant experience and the fact they tried to "pass the buck" was frustrating. We will NOT be ordering form this restaurant again. I have been eating at this place like 1-2 times per week for about a year. I noticed a change in staff a month or two ago, but the food was still super good and nice portions. Last night I ordered my standard take out order and noticed there was a price change..but hey, its a new year, we all have to make money.. no big deal. Picked up the food from another totally different staff and took it home. When I opened it, not only was the portion HALF of what it usually was, but they had left out something I ordered and paid for AND what I had ordered medium spice was NUCLEAR. I know Thai spiciness is not very consistent but this was WAY over the top. I might give them one more chance since they gave me a year of pure deliciousness. This used to be my all time favorite Thai place for take out. The past 3 times we have been incredibly disappointed. Perhaps a change of ownership or new management. The ingredients are not as high a quality as in the past. The preparation is not as good. The peanut sauce for Chicken Satay last time was terrible. The pad Thai was dry, the fresh ingredients were almost nonexistent and the chicken was overcooked. Sadly this will be our last time ordering unless we hear of some significant change. read more

Unfortunately we ate here yesterday. Food had burnt flavor. Service so-so. Hard to even get enough napkins. The Tom Kai soup was good enough, but a little too sweet and had chunks of strong ginger and unchewable bamboo pieces. We're new to the area and had a taste for some Thai food. It was a chilly evening, so we opted for steamed dumplings and curry. My husband ordered the yellow curry and I, the green. His was chock full of veggies and had a nice flavor. (Of course I snuck a taste!) Mine, however, was rather skimpy with only three small slivers of eggplant and the usual bamboo shoots, green beans, etc. I ordered mild heat which tasted more like medium. The waitress was wonderful and let me know that green is usually the spiciest; she was right. It was also very sweet, tasting like honey, not so much coconut. This little place is a great place to get awesome Thai food! I usually get takeout here, so I don't deal too much with the service, but when I have eaten there, it is pretty quick! They tend to hover around you a little that makes you feel like you need to order quick, but they are pretty helpful with choices and bring out the food fast. If you order takeout, they tend to take quite a while longer, so allow time in between from when you order to when you pick it up. The prices are pretty good as well! Not too expensive for the amount of food they give you! My favorite dishes are the shrimp fried rice and the Pad See Ew. We love this little neighborhood restaurant! If only they could have more room... The owner/manager is always friendly and knows many guests as repeat diners. The menu is pretty constant but they will customize anything if you have a preference. The drinks are also delicious. We try a different entree every visit so we can discover new favorites, but each dish is worthy of an order. Their spice is not too much at the lower ends - we order Medium, as Mild is too plain for Thai food. We once tried Hot, but that was way too much for us!
