Sussy's Cakes is located in VA and I live in North Carolina. I was on the hunt to surprise my friend for her birthday with a beautiful cake. I came across Sussy's and was floored with the beautiful styles and intricate cake flavors. (Seriously, lemon cake with pomegranate buttercream, where do they even do that!?) She was SO professional and SO easy to work with!! All of this to say I had to blindly trust her because everything was virtual, so I had no idea what I was going to expect but I just took the risk. I recently ordered a cake and other side pastries and cookies from Sussy's cakes for my son's 2nd birthday party. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, we were unable to host the big party we had in mind but were able to have our parents over for a small celebration. I had ordered a mickey mouse themed cake for my son and Sussy did such an amazing job with the decoration. Not only was it a beautifully made cake, it was also absolutely delicious! We picked the almond cake and raspberry buttercream with Bavarian cream filling. Because we had to go from a 3 tiered cake to a single layered cake, Sussy also made us some amazing butterscotch cream cookies. Sussy's Cakes is an amazing find! Sussy has made two cakes for our family in the past 3 weeks. The first was for my daughter's baby shower and it was beautiful. She recreated the characters from the decorations out of fondant an it was absolutely darling. Second, she made my granddaughter's circus themed cake for her second birthday. We have used Sussy's Cakes twice now. The first for a cake topper for a gender reveal party, which was so amazing when I saw it I couldn't believe it. I was so impressed that for the baby shower, we used Sussy's Cakes for the custom order of the cake and the cake topper for the party. Once again, the cake was a highlight of the party! I love my daughter's first birthday cake from Sussy's cake. I sent her a picture and she did a great job with it. It was so beautiful that I did not even want to cut it. I was smiling the whole way home by just looking at the cake The conversation by email was easy, and she was really responsive. The cake was a little bit too sweat for us since we used to the flavor from Asian's bakery store, but it was still very tasty for our guests.
