The ambiance isn't anything special, there was country music playing (????um yuck) and it feels a bit like a diner. You order at the counter and they bring your food to you -the menu isn't extensive. However, the choices on the menu all looked delicious and the food is phenomenal! Fresh homemade pasta with fabulous sauces and the focaccia is probably the best I've ever tasted, so fresh and soft and flavorful. The service was super friendly even when the place got really really crowded. It felt a bit chaotic but for the food alone I would definitely return. They have some outside seating too during nice weather. Definitely worth a visit, you won't be disappointed. (I would've given the place 5 stars except for the country music playing, sorry but that ruined the vibe a bit) read more

From time to time, since July 2016, I have eaten at Cafe Torino's. Their food has always been excellent, be it breakfast (scrambled eggs & bacon with bread), lunch, or dinner. Many times there is a large crowd in a small area at their tables, similar to a cafe in Italy. Outside seating is available. I arrived, with reservations, at 1pm for an inside table. I was surprised that all but one of their inside tables were taken as well as two outside tables. I was not expecting this large a crowd for a Thursday. I do recommend that you call to make reservations, especially for lunch and dinner. Cafe Torino stayed busy and also there were several people coming in for their called in takeaway order. I had the Reuben sandwich which comes with a bag of potato chips and I also had a glass of tea. Reuben is my go to sandwich order at a cafe or restaurant and I have never been disappointed at Cafe Torino. Their Reuben is on toasted focaccia bread with the usual corned beed, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, and dressing. This was the best focaccia bread I have eaten. I was so surprised at how well balanced all the ingredients were. At other restaurants and cafes I have been served a Reuben sandwich that had too much of or not enough of the various ingredients and of course the Reuben did not have focaccia bread. I was surprised and disappointed that I could find no complaints with my Reuben. My wife had the chicken salad sandwich, which was also on focaccia bread with a garden salad and iced tea. She was very pleased with the taste and quantity of chicken salad. She is also a lover of focaccia bread. The garden salad was the normal type you receive as a side. We both enjoyed our sandwiches and look forward to another meal at Cafe Torino. read more

We stopped in on a whim. Wow. The *most* delicious food. The wait staff couldn't have been nicer to my 90 year old grandfather. And the recommendations on the food. The bread is sooooo delicious. My grandfather had the chicken salad sandwich and said it was the best he'd ever had. I also ate the chicken with sun dried tomato sauce. Couldn't have been happier. I have lived in a culpeper for almost 9 years and have never been here. My husband and I went for lunch and boy oh boy, I'm so mad I haven't been sooner. We had the best service by the owners son and another young man. The mushroom/black truffle pasta was HANDS DOWN the best I've ever had. The bread? Whewwweee, so so good! My husband had the chicken Parmesan. Everything was so fresh and you can tell they put so much care into their food. I ended up leaving with a key lime pie and salted caramel cookies. Time for an update! I posted the following review 4 years ago and want to add some more praise: we were just there for a lunch that really hit the spot, and with plenty left over to take home. Their pasta is so good, the sauces so flavorful and the desserts hard to resist! And, on top of all that delicious goodness, when we left without taking our leftovers, the young man, who is the son of the owners/chefs, ran after our car across the entire parking lot to make sure we got it! Love them all!! (Previous review: I love this place & am a regular customer! Their lunches are great - always ask for some of their homemade warmed focaccia bread with their salads or soups, or get a sandwich made with it! Their pasta dishes are excellent! So it's a bakery by day and a cute bistro at night? Could happen. I visit my cousin who lives in Warrenton for her birthday every spring and takes her and her friend out for dinner where ever she want to go. In veritable she wants to come to the night bistro. The staff is so kind and attentive. In 15 years, I don't think I have had a dry glass of water on an empty wine glass. Most of the people are locals, and they know the whole staff personally, and I always feel welcome here. They have beer and wine and there is always some special bottle we find. I forget the beers they have, but I don't think they are lacking. The atmosphere is dark and romantic in a simple space. I almost feel it is just my party with a few people out in the rest of the restaurant. The food is ideal. The chef is very thoughtful in his recipes and maximizes the flavor of the ingredient. I have had the veal a few ways, often a nice piece of fish and once or twice a delightful perfect piece of beef. We always start with an appetizer, even a shrimp cocktail, or the Caprese Salad. I lover the Trout Almondine, it reminds me of a meal I had in northern Italy. The chef knows how to deliver. This is truly a gem, and if you want a laid-back dining experience, you should come here. This is a community place and they are fortunate to have a place that cares to serve such a good fair. read more

OMG! Fast, fresh, and fabulous describes the team and food here. Ordered the Salmon BLT. It was filled with fish and all the favors complimented well. My son ordered linguine marinara with meat balls. Everything was so fresh. Noodles homemade and the sauce was made from scratch. The bread complimented the meal perfect. One of the best dinner experiences we've had in a long time. First off the atmosphere was great, very homey and personal feel. The staff was amazing, very attentive but not overbearing. Food was on point and portions were very large. Dessert was very delicious and I'm not much on sweets. Learning th as t this was a family owned and operated business made it all the better. I liked this place. they have a nice lunch special with some nice pastas, homemade focaccia bread. My little grandson couldn't get enough of both. Then, to finish, they had really good pastries and cappuccinos. I'll be back, have to check out some of the other pastas. Scrambled eggs don't get better than this. Period. Wow. I'd seen an online review somewhere else for Cafe Torino - and that review raved about the scrambled eggs - so I went here for breakfast this morning. When I walked in about 9:00 am - every table was taken (there are 11 tables or so). I was greeted by Andre who appeared to be the owner/chef. He has an interesting accent - I am guessing based on the menu offerings and his accent that he has some Italian ancestry. He was wearing a chef's jacket and had a small diamond stud earring in one ear - he was very gregarious. Not seeing a breakfast menu - I asked him what the breakfast options were. His answer? "Scrambled eggs and bacon - OR - Bacon and scrambled eggs." I laughed and ordered Scrambled eggs and bacon, and coffee. Since there was no place to sit - I got my food to go. While I was waiting for my food, I was drinking my coffee - the coffee was strong, rich, and delicious. When my food was ready, I walked out to the car and decided I was going to eat in the car. I could already smell the scrambled eggs. I opened the container and the scrambled eggs looked inviting. They were perfect! Moist, rich, buttery, but not to soft. I've never had scrambled eggs this good! Then I sampled the bacon. Wow. Just Wow. Thick, meaty, crisp, smoky flavor. I could have eaten a wheelbarrow full of that bacon. There was also three small round slices of some sort of bread included - the bread was soft and excellent. Other breakfast offerings available are baked goods. They also offer a variety of Italian sandwiches and pasta dishes for lunch and dinner. If the rest of the menu offerings is as good as the breakfast - it should be amazing. I was eyeballing some of the pasta menu offerings and can't wait to come back and try more! They also offer some Virginia wines to go with your meal. Came in for a birthday on Saturday, with a big party of nine. We all ordered and sat down and were helped by the very nice woman behind the counter. When the food came out, our order of linguine and meatballs came out covered in parmesan. That's fair, it's an Italian restaurant, but it wasn't listed anywhere that it'd come out with cheese on top, and parmesan doesn't sit well with my friend's stomach, so we politely asked if it would be possible to have it brought out without cheese. My friend really didn't want to cause trouble, and is very shy, so we asked very quietly. The lovely person behind the counter said that would be possible, and would only take another minute. The food comes out and we are so grateful and happy that they were kind enough to comply with the request! Then out of the blue, the chef then comes out, marches to our table, and unnecessarily announces to the entire party "Who's the genius who comes to an Italian restaurant and doesn't like cheese?" This results in my shy friend being in tears for the rest of the meal. What a terrible end to a nice afternoon. read more

We had not been here in over a year, so we decided to go recently on a Friday night. We made reservations, as we always do because they aren't open very late (even on the weekends) and they always seem to fill up. Good thing we did, because they filled up! The service we received was as amazing as it always is, including having the chef/owner come out to greet all the guests and chat in between preparing his amazing food. They have a decent wine list, which is very affordable. Their menu is varied, offering steak, seafood, many pastas, chicken, etc... and it's all great! Save room for dessert, as they offer a really nice selection of freshly-made (in-house) desserts... check out their dessert case! We really enjoyed our visit and can't wait to return!! read more

I stumbled upon this place this past Wednesday with my manager and returned on Friday to buy some of the delicious miniature key lime and lemon tarts. The owners walked through the door and said "You're back!" I was really impressed they remembered me. Cafe Torino and Bakery is a quaint, family owned Italian restaurant, modestly decorated with vintage Italian pictures and a few personal family vacation photos, making it very inviting. My manager ordered the Italian on focaccia and the soup (I think it was crab). He loved it! The sandwich was large, he was only able to eat half. He also said he was saving room for the key lime pie and salted caramel crunch cookie. Both desserts were definitely worth it. I ordered the chicken, with spinach, provolone and sundries tomatoes. The presentation was beautiful and the chicken was so moist (sorry I forgot to take pics.). I enjoyed the flavor combination, I cleaned my plate. The dish came with two pieces of focaccia, which is homemade....talk about AMAZING! If they had said, we only have focaccia and sauce, I still would've been satisfied! That dish was 5 star quality for star 1 star price. On the way out my manager, who is also Italian, said "Oh we'll be back! He doesn't even live in VA, hahahaha! He is here once a month, so I'm sure he will ask me to take him there. This place is definitely worth a visit. The portions are large and the prices are more than reasonable. read more

Pretty nice lunch place. An independently owned Italian and home cooking cafe. On the recommendation of my co-worker, Lindsey who has grown up in Fauquier County, several of us went here for lunch. It was a busy friday lunch crowd at 11am. You order and pay, then they bring your food. They have several daily specials and a chalk board menu. The owner is a very outgoing, high energy guy who takes your order. He's very friendly and likes to joke. I told him it was my first time there and he made several recommendations. I decided on the Ruben on focacia bread. It was an excellent choice, I was very pleased with the food quality. The service is very good, you won't have to ask to have your glass refilled. Service was great! It was a very busy Saturday night and the staff was very attentive and worked very well together. The food and wine portions were very good for the price; however the chicken parmesan that I had lacked in flavor. The breading was well seasoned, but the chicken itself was tough (thick piece that wasn't pounded out) and hadn't been seasoned prior to breading.
