A Ramen Masterclass in Beaverton! If you are looking for…read morethat perfect, soul-warming bowl of noodles, Koku Ramen & Bites in Beaverton is an absolute gem. It's located in the Timberland Town Center and manages to perfectly balance a modern, trendy vibe with authentic, traditional flavors. Here is why it's a 5-star standout for me: The Broth (The Soul of the Bowl): I ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen, and the broth was incredible--creamy, rich, and clearly simmered for hours. It has that deep, milky consistency that only comes from true craft. If you like heat, the Spicy Miso has a perfect, layered kick that doesn't just overpower your taste buds. The Noodles: They get the texture exactly right. You can choose your firmness, and they have that perfect "chew" that holds onto the broth beautifully. The "Bites": True to their name, the appetizers (bites) are not to be skipped. The Pork Gyoza are perfectly seared, but the Karaage (Japanese Fried Chicken) is the real winner--juicy on the inside and impossibly crunchy on the outside. The Chashu: The braised pork belly is melt-in-your-mouth tender. They give it a quick torch sear before serving, which adds a beautiful smoky aroma to the whole bowl. The Vibe: The restaurant is clean, sleek, and has a great energy. The staff is welcoming and incredibly fast, making it a perfect spot for a quick lunch or a cozy dinner. Pro Tip: Don't forget to add a Marinated Soft-Boiled Egg (Ajitama). They cook them to perfection here with that jammy, custard-like yolk that takes the ramen to the next level. Beaverton has a lot of food options, but Koku is easily at the top of my list for comfort food. I'll be back again and again!

Food looked good, our kids said they tasted good. One of them said it was just like Japan. My low…read morerate is due to no kids menu, and us being charged 20% gratuity for binging our kids to eat here. The waiter made it a point to say your six guests so a 20% gratuity will be added to your bill even if you and your wife are not eating. My wife and I had dinner reservations at another restaurant where kids are not allowed. 20% gratuity is high when the bill is $80+ just for 4 kids. Don't take your kids here. Better places, better prices, better environment. Waiter was Josue. (Good waiter)

Oh yes. This is delicious. The menu is limited, just a few choices. But they are all delicious…read more The ambience is... well... there is none. You sit on a stool and eat your ramen. But it's good ramen, so have a seat and eat. This place is inside the H-Mart Korean grocery store. Just take a hard right as you come in the front door. When you're done eating here, maybe get some shopping done. Access is great, right off of 99W either North or South bound. There's a light, so there's no problem turning in or getting out. Parking is plentiful. It's good ramen, so give it a try.

The lady who took our order was attentive and quick. The kitchen people carefully brought the food, and attitude was polite. I wasn't sure whether hot tea would be an extra cost and got ice water. Portion was normal, tons of vegetables and FOUR slices of chashu meat, which I was already amazed. Soup was thick but not salty at all. Aji tama was perfect. The price is reasonable ($12 per bowl, no matter what favors of soup bases). The front line people always made sure to keep the bar table clean. It really reminds me of family own ramen shops in Japan. Thanks for the delicious food. We want to come back again for different spicy levels of ramen, as well as the appetizers.

I never thought I would get good ramen outside of Japan. Service is usual for a Japanese restaurant. It's just so polite and friendly. It's bigger than the small ramen places that you find in Japan and States. It's cosy though.

On a crowded day for lunch, we sat down to see how Kizuki Ramen & Izakaya fared on this legendary Japanese dish. Though tempted by several options on the menu, we could not resist the calling of the Garlic Tonkotsu Shoyu Ramen, which seemed to be the house favorite. Service was prompt and efficient, and they dished up a pair of bowls for us in hardly any time at all. Our assessment? Noodles. I've had ramen all over the place, and Kizuki wins top marks for its overall texture and consistency. If there's a better noodle in the world, I have yet to find it. It's got that perfect chew. Broth. The garlic tonkotsu broth is a winner. Obviously, you need to like garlic if you're going to like this broth, but it's a feature of the broth, and I didn't find it overwhelming. I didn't leave a single drop of it when I was done, which is all you need to know. Goodies. Kizuki includes high-quality ingredients that included a full soft-boiled egg, onions, bamboo shoots, pork chashu, seaweed (nori), and sprouts. I've been to some ramen shops that may have had more, and certainly some who have had less, but this is probably the best quality/quantity blend I've experienced. I might recommend splurging for the extra pork-belly, for those who are protein inclined, but still, top grades for the goodies. Kizuki is an expanding chain, and if other branches have the same formula, then they've done a great job preserving quality with a winning formula. While I only had the one menu item, it feels like the core principles wouldn't change much, so I'm pretty confident in a five-star for this place. Service was just as good as the food, despite it being a packed house. Well done, Kizuki! Arigato gozaimasu! いただきます!

The new renovation definitely feels more elevated, and honestly Vancouver needs more spots like this where you can enjoy a nicer atmosphere without having to drive into Portland. Service was great, staff was professional, attentive, and overall gave off a good vibe. It actually felt like they enjoy working there, which makes a difference. I did read on their webpage that they aim to bring authentic Japanese and Korean food. Personally, wouldn't consider it fully authentic, especially if you've traveled to Japan or the mainland, you'll notice the difference. The food leans more toward American style Japanese/Korean cuisine. That being said, the food was still good and satisfying. Not authentic, but enjoyable. We would come back and are interested in trying more items on the menu. I'll update my review if anything changes.
