A Ramen Masterclass in Beaverton! If you are looking for…read morethat perfect, soul-warming bowl of noodles, Koku Ramen & Bites in Beaverton is an absolute gem. It's located in the Timberland Town Center and manages to perfectly balance a modern, trendy vibe with authentic, traditional flavors. Here is why it's a 5-star standout for me: The Broth (The Soul of the Bowl): I ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen, and the broth was incredible--creamy, rich, and clearly simmered for hours. It has that deep, milky consistency that only comes from true craft. If you like heat, the Spicy Miso has a perfect, layered kick that doesn't just overpower your taste buds. The Noodles: They get the texture exactly right. You can choose your firmness, and they have that perfect "chew" that holds onto the broth beautifully. The "Bites": True to their name, the appetizers (bites) are not to be skipped. The Pork Gyoza are perfectly seared, but the Karaage (Japanese Fried Chicken) is the real winner--juicy on the inside and impossibly crunchy on the outside. The Chashu: The braised pork belly is melt-in-your-mouth tender. They give it a quick torch sear before serving, which adds a beautiful smoky aroma to the whole bowl. The Vibe: The restaurant is clean, sleek, and has a great energy. The staff is welcoming and incredibly fast, making it a perfect spot for a quick lunch or a cozy dinner. Pro Tip: Don't forget to add a Marinated Soft-Boiled Egg (Ajitama). They cook them to perfection here with that jammy, custard-like yolk that takes the ramen to the next level. Beaverton has a lot of food options, but Koku is easily at the top of my list for comfort food. I'll be back again and again!

Food looked good, our kids said they tasted good. One of them said it was just like Japan. My low…read morerate is due to no kids menu, and us being charged 20% gratuity for binging our kids to eat here. The waiter made it a point to say your six guests so a 20% gratuity will be added to your bill even if you and your wife are not eating. My wife and I had dinner reservations at another restaurant where kids are not allowed. 20% gratuity is high when the bill is $80+ just for 4 kids. Don't take your kids here. Better places, better prices, better environment. Waiter was Josue. (Good waiter)

We came here on a whim being in the area and not sure what to eat. So glad we came! Apparently it…read morewas happy hour? Sunday at 3pm? I'll take it!! We got ramen and a chicken karaage plate with two beers. $40 total not bad! We are both kinda picky with ramen and karaage and both were delicious! The pork was so tender and the broth was nice and light. Service was great, sweetest server and she was by herself, she was holding down the whole restaurant (no delay in anyone's service). Lots of food options and great space for seating. High recommend coming here.

Tucked in the center of a super-diverse Asian eatery strip mall is this subtle ramen shop. Fairly…read moresmall dining space (seating for 30 max.) decorated with Japanese imagery and playing K & J- pop on a tv screen, nothing fancy but comfortable. Seems equal number of customers dine in as takeout. Pricing and value was pretty average for a ramen shop with noodle bowls ranging from $14 to $18. Portion size was also average with a noodle bowl filling us up but not to excess. We had the black garlic oil tonkatsu ramen (very tasty with a hearty broth), and the chicken ramen (basic tonkatsu broth plus 3-4 pieces of kaarage batter chicken). The noodles were firm and slightly thicker than most ramen houses. A B-grade, which means 4 stars......downgraded due to each bowl being a bit skimpy on the "toppings." The toppings were cha shu pork ( 2 very skinny pieces), a soft-cooked egg, and a few bean sprouts & green onions. If you wanted additional items, basically add $1 to $3 for each item. Other ramen shops typically include more toppings for about the same price. If in the Hillsboro area, this may be the best ramen option, and we'll definitely give it another try.

First and foremost, I am not a huge ramen fan. Every time my friends or family suggest ramen, it's…read morean immediate "next" for me... it's usually too salty, way too carby, and not enough protein. I can definitely appreciate the effort it takes to make ramen, but it's not exactly a well-balanced, healthy dish, more like a hangover cure... With that being said! For me to give Lucky Ramen FIVE stars is a huge feat! My personal number 1 go-to is the Veggie Ramen w/kale noodles, spicy level 3. Dont knock it til you try it! The broth is the true definition of umami, it's savory, filled with enoki mushrooms, bok choy, bamboo shoots, shiitake mushrooms, tofu, and a soft boiled egg. It's nothing short of filling! The kale noodles taste just like regular ramen noodles and to think that it has extra fiber, yes please. If the thought of a dish being vegetarian is a turn off for you, next best option is the Tonkotsu ramen. The broth is flavorful, rich, and they don't skimp on the meat and other ingredients either! Honestly, you cant go wrong with Lucky Cat. If you ever walk thru H-Mart and see a line for this restaurant, now you know why! :)

But it's good ramen, so have a seat and eat. This place is inside the H-Mart Korean grocery store. Just take a hard right as you come in the front door. When you're done eating here, maybe get some shopping done. Access is great, right off of 99W either North or South bound. There's a light, so there's no problem turning in or getting out. Parking is plentiful. It's good ramen, so give it a try.
