This might just be my new favorite sushi restaurant in town! Innovative. Tasty. Fresh. Quick. Cozy. Yup that sums it up. We ordered the honey bear maki, ebi shrimp mango maki, and the volcano maki. While everything was superb, specific highlights were: 1. the seafood salad topping on the volcano maki had a good kick to it, 2. I've never eaten a honey bear maki before and it was such a beautifully crafted maki, taste and appearance wise, 3. The ebi shrimp mango maki was like a palate cleanser, fresh shrimp and mildly sweet mango. Cannot wait to order from here again. I'd give it more than 5 stars if I could!

Some really good sushi here. Got some teriyaki apps as well. Service was super friendly and helpful. Probably 10 or so tables. Will definitely return at some point.

I've been there twice for a pick up order and each time I arrived I was greeted with a smile. My order is made quick and it's very fresh! I've ordered miso soup and some sushi and there are zero complaints. I will definitely be returning

    Avocado Maki and Vegetable Tempura

I ordered a simple hibachi rice and vegetable tempura. This was probably the worst vegetable tempura I have ever had. It was drowned in oil and soggy. The fried rice had what seemed like a dozen eggs in it...too much. I am so disappointed. It was a waste. I hope they read reviews and make adjustments. This business has potential as their service is prompt.

Great local place to go to. The sushi is very fresh, rolls are tasty. Have tried almost everything in the menu with no disappointment. Love the hot and sour soup. I usually get the sashimi dinner. My son loves the udon noodles. Staff is amazing, and the sushi chef is awesome in creating something different for my taste. Will recommend it. The other great thing to talk about is their schedule; they are open later than other restaurants in the area, making it convenient for families that work late and families with late sport days. Will be nice if they add more rolls variety to the menu, but like I mentioned before the chef is able to make anything else to your taste. The ambience is nice. Decor is plane but the place is nice and clean. Bathroom is clean always which tells your a lot about the cleanliness. Go and enjoy a nice meal.

Decided to try Sushinoya in Dedham, which seems to be a hidden gem in the area as there are not many asian restaurants. They do a lot of take out. The parking lot is relatively small and the restaurant itself isn't too large. Service is so friendly and accommodating. Sushi was really delicious and fresh. The hibachi chicken teriyaki with rice was good but a little overpriced for how it is prepared. Good overall with kind people.

Location is great, there were able 2 employees working the front. Not really sociable with us but very chatty with each other. Pricing is a bit on the higher end for the quality for sure, out of 7 dishes between a group of 4 and 2 were for sure pre-made items only 2 dishes were ok. As for the food itself, I can say it's more on a "cleaner" side vs the extra flavor and oily texture you'd get from a fast food chain. The ramen broth was subtle, the noodle perfect, but the flavor wasn't there. The Chef special roll was way over priced for what you get, especially only having 1 piece being the best out of the "assorted" fish. The hibachi wasn't good in my opinion, good portion though. Would not order that again. The chicken teriyaki flavor was great, chicken texture was more like grilled on a pan vs over flame. Loved the veggies though. The gyoza and takoyaki were good as well as the strawberry mochi icecream. Wish they were more friendly though, making us feel like we were inconvenient for them was a major turn off.

The food quality is above average, the execution is high, and the service is attentive. The space is clean and efficient, but lacks warmth. We visited the day after a large 1-2 foot snowstorm, and Ochi was one of the only restaurants open in town. I've eaten at Ochi 4x since it opened in 2023, although there's a lot more to explore on its expansive and prolific menu. On this visit, we tried a Tuna Poke Bowl, a Salmon Pome Bowl, a Katsu Ramen, a Mango Salad, and a Mochi desert. Regarding the Tuna Poke Bowl, Ochi took the liberty of substituting more expensive fatty tuna (Toro), for regular tuna (Maguro), a generous and appreciated gift as a thanks for dining on a very slow night due to the storm. Hence, I would recommend everything we tried: the Mango Salad, any of the Sushi, Sashimi and Maki choices, the Poke bowls and Ramen (especially the Spicy Miso Ramen, the chicken Katsu Ramen, and any of the traditional pork or beef Ramen choices). In addition, the deserts are especially worth trying, and are all well orchestrated. You can't really go wrong at Ochi.

Friendly, attentive, and everything came out in a timely way. But when it came to the food, it was just ok for me. I ordered the Shrimp Fried Rice and the Shrimp with Lobster Sauce. The rice had decent flavor, but nothing really stood out. It tasted more like a safe choice than something I would go back for. The shrimp with lobster sauce had a nice portion size, but the sauce felt a little flat. It was missing that rich, layered flavor I was expecting. We also got the Bo Bo Platter to share, which is their appetizer sampler. It came with beef teriyaki, chicken wings, spring rolls, shrimp, and crab rangoons. A little bit of everything. Again, it was just ok. The flavors didn't pop the way I wanted them to. My husband had the Crispy Pad Thai which came with jumbo shrimp, chicken , and egg, stir fried with rice noodles. It had a nice presentation. The standout of the night for me was definitely the Fried Shrimp from the Bo Bo Platter. It was done perfectly. Light, crisp, not weighed down by thick batter. I honestly would have been happy just getting a plate of those. Overall, Bamboo is a beautiful space with solid service, but food wise, it didn't hit for me the way I hoped it would. I might try it again for something different, but this visit was just ok.

The food was top quality and the atmosphere was on point. There was plenty of parking, and upon walking in the restaurant looked very clean. Since it was close to closing and I had called ahead, we were seated right away at a hibachi table with just the two of us. There was an extremely loud birthday party seated next to us, but that's not the restaurant's fault. While ordering, I wanted to get appetizers and sushi before our hibachi meal, but I felt a little rushed by our server. On a previous visit I remembered there being a Tuesday appetizer special (I thought it was half off), but when I asked, I was told they had never offered that promotion. Food: * Rock & Roll Roll - 8/10: Fresh and tasty, although the crab had a slightly stronger smell than I'd prefer. * Shrimp Tempura Roll - 9/10: Very good, but I asked for extra eel sauce and was given barely a tablespoon. * Steak & Shrimp Hibachi - 5/10: The flavor was excellent and everything was cooked exactly as requested, but the portions were surprisingly small for the price. * Chicken & Steak Hibachi - 5/10: Again, the flavor was great, but the portions were disappointing. We ordered extra chicken, which ended up being a good decision because the regular portion was very small. Each plate had less than a cup of rice, and although I requested extra mushrooms instead of zucchini and carrots, that substitution wasn't made. * Salt & Pepper Chicken Wings - 10/10: Easily one of the best items we ordered. Perfectly crispy with great seasoning and just the right amount of spice. * Scallion Pancakes - 9/10: Crispy and flavorful, but they could have used more scallions and a larger portion of dipping sauce. Drinks: I ordered a lemon drop martini made with tequila, but it tasted like it was made with vodka. I asked if it could be replaced, but that request was declined. They brought me pineapple juice to try to make it more drinkable, but it didn't help, and the drink still remained on the bill. That was definitely a 0/10 experience. Our hibachi chef was fantastic. He was engaging, acknowledged my fiancé's birthday, and honestly made up for the lackluster service we received from our waiter. One thing diners should be aware of is that an 18% service charge is automatically added to the bill, but it isn't verbally mentioned. It's listed as a "service charge" on the receipt, so it's easy to overlook if you're not paying attention. I asked about it to confirm, then tipped our hibachi chef separately because he deserved it. The receipt also includes wording encouraging additional gratuity, which could easily lead guests to tip twice if they don't notice the automatic charge. Overall, the food quality and flavors were still good, and the hibachi chef made the experience enjoyable. However, the rushed service, disappointing portion sizes, drink issue, and lack of transparency about the automatic service charge kept this visit from living up to our previous experiences.

Did a lunch visit with a friend, going our own way with lunch combos and adding a couple of full-order appetizers. -- Spareribs on the Bone: St Louis cut ribs with ruby red glaze, just a bit of char, and a clear honey glaze to sweeten things further. Not the meatiest, not the juiciest, and not the most tender, but they got the job done, thanks to the very pleasing flavor. These have the potential to be stellar at night. As sampled, above average to well above average, even with the flaws. -- Egg Rolls: Extra crunchy exterior and a soft, stringy assortment of both cabbage and celery for greenery, accented with pork. Above average. -- Chicken Wing (the included appetizer on a combo): Not dark of skin, but still crispy. A bit dry. Kinda plain, with discernible but light marinade. Average to slightly below average. -- Hot and Sour Soup: Not many mushrooms or other fillers. Mostly thick, weirdly gloppy broth and some scallions. Spice present, flavors good, textures not so good. Balances out to average. -- Szechuan Style Chicken with Peanuts: Other than having the two ingredients listed in the name, it didn't seem like similarly named dishes or kung pao. Pea pods standing in for celery. Chicken was high quality and the flavors were appealing, with spice coming through and a hoisin-equestrian undercurrent adding depth. A little above average even if different. -- General Gao's Chicken: My friend's lunch combo. He said it was heavy on the breading and had one-note sweetness. A mixed bag, but a worthy visit if you need something in the area. Lunch specials at $11.95 have a more than fair amount of food, so a good value. But it's those spareribs that'll bring me back.
