The wait itself was long.. there was no customers in line. The food itself.. you could tell their meat had been cooked before and just sitting around. You'd expect it to be nice and grilled with some seasoning since it took so long but no. The shrimp: guys, instead of just cooking them in butter and leaving them to wait, add some seasoning too. I do not know what plate my sister ordered but it was steak and shrimp in a baked roll. The roll itself on the outside was not good. Simple. Not crunchy nor any flavor. You actually have to use the mayo and chipotle they provide for you in small containers. And a good amount of it. I am not satisfied and will not be recommending this place to anybody. If you're looking for something close to this Mexican sushi style, and close to it, go to Queen Taco/Sushi on Atlantic and Tenaya. I love this place. I'm so glad this didn't go out of business like the small joints that would continue to pop up here. Finally this one has stuck and I can see why! The rolls are amazing and are perfect variety to Sinaloa cuisine. It's a perfect place to be able to enjoy a good sushi dish with out the struggle of a authentic Japanese dish. Placed an order and then cashier told me it was cash only I had to leave and look for the closest bank I came back and they gave me my order except i over heard the workers saying they gave me someone else's order that never got picked up and we ordered the same sushi roll my tuna and avocado had a dark color to it.... Only reason I gave 2 stars was cause the picante roll wasn't as bad as the cali roll. I was shocked to see how many bad ratings this place has! I've tried many of the dishes here and can't complain the food is delicious! I'm a customer here. I've been coming here for YEARS basically since they opened up. I always order the same thing (El Greñudo). Today idk what the hell happened, I ordered my usual and i kid you not, the plate looked SLOPPY AF! Basically like if they were giving leftovers to a homeless person. I always come here to eat some sushi. I believe the price is justified with the sushi. It is not your typical Japanese sushi. I enjoy this sushi because not many other restaurants are able to offer these untypical sushi rolls. I always get the Zamu's Special. If you come here don't get the typical California roll. I believe you should try something new. You'll be very pleased. Well I am and come here at least 5 times a month. P.s. Their soy sauce is great! Its a blend of soy sauce and I think lemon.
