Good food! It's pricey considering that they can't use the name of la Guelaguetza. The tlayudas are very tasty

    Good foo!

Let me tell you, I am a picking MMEXICAN FOOD eater. I dont take empty calories.....but this place is amazing! Everything everything i tated here was amazing. Thr house speciality suggested by our host were savory and deliciously good. The eclaictaic favor in their mezcal drinks are a taste of their own. This place is the real real! I highly recommend a trip.

nice decor, taste is good. you can try the enchiladas. friendly service, a few suggestions tho they dont have regular coffee or decaf only cafe de olla, that was the only thing missing and a must. prices are a lil over priced for what you get.. overall it was just ok

Like always a good spot for enmoladas. They are one of my faves. Service was exceptional, she was quick and very friendly (Thank you Bertha!!!!) my mom loved the chile rellenos and my dad loved the Tlayuda. The atmosphere is nice but a little too dark for me. It almost seems like it's a place to bring someone you don't want no one seeing you with. If you know what I mean, lol.

Different mole sampler with chicken and one huge tortilla!

Entering the place you feel like you are entering Oaxaca! Cook making fresh tortillas and the smell of home made food. We went for mole and boy did we get some great items. Don't look at the bland looking white chicken breast...trust me, when you grab your piece of tortilla and the. Put the chicken that shreds easily the fun begins! Try a little of the dark or the rojo my favorite, the. There is a spicy one but I don't eat spicy and I was able to handle it. Next you can try the Colorado flavor and that's good too and it came with rice for $40. My mom had a Chile relleno and my son a quesadilla. I ordered nopales and cheese and I was able to share with the table, looking back we did a taste test purchase and we were happy with everything, we would like to go back and have drink special for the happy hour and desserts. They have some high end tequila but went for cafe de la olla no creamer needed. They also have Mexican sodas or streaming soda. My son liked the French fries too! Next door is yogurt land and that was fun too! Front parking and accessibility! Also a carousel down the corridor in the middle of the plaza. Great memories made this day!

The quality of the food is average, the flavors lacked salt and were very bland, especially the mole on both the tamal and the mole negro plate. The prices reflect mostly the ambiance of the restaurant than they do the quality of the food. Tortillas are not included with any dinner plates and are an extra charge, the cheese on The Tlayuda is also an extra charge, the size of the water is about 20oz. They also tried to sell us cheese to go. 2/20! Went here for my bday got to eat at this fancy place but the quality of the food will not bring me back:/

Enchiladas de Coloradito with Oaxacan String Cheese and Cecina (pork) - Visit 03-12-22
    Melissa W.

This place used to be really good but over the years it's just gone downhill. The past two visits they haven't brought out the chips and mole that they always used to bring out with our order of drinks. The friend I go with is super disappointed. I'm a little butt-hurt too but apparently it was the owner's decision not to serve them anymore. It was literally a small plate of chips with some mole de coloradito drizzled on top, sprinkled with a little queso fresco. Literally every Mexican restaurant I know of serves free chips and salsa. No bueno. I was not impressed with our most recent visit, (03-12-22.) I ordered my usual, the Enchiladas de Coloradito with Oaxacan String Cheese and Cecina, (pork.) My dish wasn't even hot. It was luke warm at best. My cecina wasn't fresh as you can see in my recent uploaded pic of the dish. I don't think any of the food was fresh, otherwise it would have been hot. They were getting ready to close and sweeping the restaurant and shuffling around the chairs which made a lot of noise, while there were still roughly 30 people in the restaurant. That's super unsanitary because people are still eating while they're sweeping and kicking up dust and stuff. Super gross! We won't be going back for a while. Not until we see their reviews get better. We are posting this review in hopes that the restaurant will see the feedback and hopefully they can make the necessary changes to make it better.

    Tlayuda Tradicional & Coloradito

Sad days Ordered the tlayuda. Meats were dry, dry, dry. Coloradito had chicken that was also overcooked and mushy. The mole, nearly flavorless. It was sold as the spicier version of mole rojo, but had no spice, was very sweet. The horchatas were good. Expressed dissatisfaction with the meals a couple bites in - to which we only got a shrug. Guess customer satisfaction went out the door with the chef. Not very many customers inside. Wish I would have read the memo...

As soon as we walked in, there was no greeting. We stood there looking around trying to figure out where to sit until a waitress eventually told us, "Sit wherever." She took our drink order while we were still looking at the menu, but it took about 10-15 minutes just to get our waters. After that, it was another 15 minutes before our food order was taken, and about 30 more minutes before the food arrived. I only saw two employees working, and they would disappear for long periods of time. It seemed like one waitress was doing most of the work by bringing out food while the other spent a lot of time chatting and laughing with customers at the bar. Maybe they need to schedule more staff because the service was very slow. The food was just okay. The fried pickles and fries were really good, and no one in my family had any complaints about the bone-in wings. However, the boneless wings were hard and overcooked on the outside. For pricing, the 6-piece wings with fries are $12.59. The 12-piece wings are $19.19, but they don't include fries, which cost an additional $5.99. The stuffed potatoes and fried pickles were $9.25. Overall, the food was decent enough, but the customer service needs major improvement. With better staffing and more attentive service, this place could provide a much better experience.

I can see how service can be a hit or miss…read more I can see how the customers can be sketchy or perfunctory or unusual. But I didn't see that on a Thursday night during the NBA Playoffs / Dodger game. Initially there were very few servers, so we had to go to the bar to get a bucket, however towards the end of the night, it started to fill up and more servers came, and we had a great time chatting it up, and got out drink orders with more flow. Ambiance? Dive bar. Like The epitome of a dive bar sans pool table. They've got the juke box playing hip hop and Banda/Corridos, big speakers so you've got to almost yell to have a conversation, was a little disappointed they weren't playing the sound from the game. Surprisingly? Great food. Tacos were good, the Aguachiles was very good, especially for the price! It's got some heat. so be prepared (ask for it not hot if you've got a low tolerance.) Great citrus punch, quite a lot of seafood. All in all It's a great dive bar, with some beautiful servers, however the parking situation is very, very bad with patrons just double parking. I had to park in the neighborhood a block down, and when I left there was a gentlemen passed out next to it. But I guess that's Southgate for you! I would stop in maybe, but its not somewhere I'd recommend to go again.

This restaurant is located inside Augies Bar & Grill, and their menu consists of mariscos and Mexican food, although they offer wings and fries. Today, I came with a friend to witness the Dodgers win and see Shohei Ohtani hit his 51st home run and steal his 51st base. The ambiance was calm for this Thursday afternoon, but the music Playlist was on point. The bartenders were beautiful as always and attentive to our needs. After a couple of cold Pacifico beers, my friend and I got hungry and decided to order some aguachiles verdes and two tacos governador. Our order took a little longer than expected (Approximately 20 minutes), but we understood because the owner had barely opened his restaurant when we ordered. The aguachiles came first because they were not hard to prepare and looked delicious. Unfortunately, I was so hungry that I forgot to take a picture of my plate midway through. The plate had a good amount of shrimp marinated in spicy lime sauce, slices of avocado, red onions, cucumber, and about 3 to 4 tostadas served inside a plastic bag. Overall, this plate is perfect to satisfy your appetite temporarily. About 10 minutes later, the tacos governador plate came out with a slice of lime and a sauce that is hard to describe, but it was really good. The taco was cheesy and had plenty of shrimp for the traditional tortilla. The type of salsa they serve it with complements the governador and is delicious. In conclusion, I will continue to come here because of their sports ambiance, cold beers, beautiful bartenders providing excellent customer service, and Mariscos Los Laras serving delicious food.

New York Steak is killer good. 12oz steak with a vegetable medley and Mash Potatoes and gravy. The steak is very high grade (what what what?!) and the entire meal is $23.... Compare this to a combo at Wendy's for $16 lol. Steak here tends to overcook a level so ask for the level below. Juicy, great texture, excellent flavor, and grill lines! Sampler Has everything needed to satisfy all appetites! Wings are on the larger size, crispy, juicy in the inside, and well seasoned. Guacamole is fresh made and they fry their own chips which is unique. I always switch out the Jalapeño sticks with sweet potato fries or more mozzarella sticks. The mozzarella sticks come with an excellent marinara sauce. The bread bowl is a full miss for me. There is probably three tablespoons of soup in it and the entire bread is about the size of a large muffin at Costco and so overpriced that Disneyland's is a much better value. The casino basically has 4 concept restaurant with their own kitchens but you can basically order from any of them and robots will drive them over to you or a server will go pick it up and bring it to you and put it on one tab. The current ones are Pho (Vietnamese), Sora (Sushi/sashimi/hand rolls), Luyixian (China/Taiwan inspired Chinese food), and here American grill. I ordered Sora's Nigiri set for $45 on one of visits and while the sushi was incredibly fresh it is really not worth it. Not enough sushi and too much filler like edamame. French fries here sometimes gets subbed with normal fries but they generally always have sweet potato fries, and some of best seasoned fries all around. Their fries as on is cheaper than Mcdonald's small fries. When you come in just find a table and sit down and someone will come to you with menus and such. Service here is incredibly good.
