The best cheesiest pupusas. Definitely going back here. Forgot the price but the price wasn't overpriced. The inside could be better, kind of looks like the place is about to close down. Lady was super super nice

La pruviana plate. Porportion is very small the brown little cup are the beans . The rice is okay the meat has flavor but small piece size of a palm of you hand. definitely not worth 15 dollars plus tax. The meat was okay would not get again. Untill they fix the portion sizes. Not satisfied i give this plate 3/10 tortillas are handmade and thick so it was okay.. Now the ceviche was warm im guessing becuase they placed this on top of my plate wich steamed the ceviche so my husband was very upset we had to put it in the freezer for him to eat later so we ate off of my plate that literaly was cut u half like 5 bites lol.. he ate it after and said it had lemon but was missing cilantro or something he would not get this again that was 13 dollar plate . And the porportion was ridiculous it qas for only 2 tostadas very thin layer.. as you see in the pocture is how qe recieved it. This plate my husband rated 1/10 . Espcially the price and the amount of food given.. I will not be going back. The cashier mexican lady was very nice however i noticed a lady who worked there gave me this stare and definitely felt unwanted there.. not a nice feeling...

Nasty ass place roach crawling on top of counter not comeing here anymore hamburger was salty

a hand holding a piece of bread

Never back again

I always make big orders, and share with family and friends. today I made a regular size order (5 arepas con queso y 10 empanadas) picked them up on my break. Get back to work and noticed none of the arepas had cheese. called and let them know. Didn't ask for anything. After thinking about it, asked if I could stop later, on my way home, to pick up the missing cheese. The lady said of course and that she'd be there. She offered a free order of arepas to fix their mistake. Once I arrived the lady recognized me right away and told me they would give me three arepas, I said that was fine. She told me it was going to be a while and couldn't tell me how long because there was a big order. Then she came out of the kitchen and said the owner had said Two arepas. I told her that was fine, but I was more concerned about the time it would take. I heard the owner saying from the kitchen that it would be fast. I said ok. I asked if I could have cheese for the other three arepas. The owner told (from the kitchen) no! That she'd was giving me two arepas already. I asked her to come out and speak to me that I had not asked for anything free and did not want to eat the initial arepas without cheese. She replied that she could not come out of the kitchen to speak to me because she was busy. I didn't say anything else and left without the cheese I had original requested or more arepas. Not sure where she thought she was doing me a favor. They made me the mistake and handled the whole situation as if they were accommodating me for something I had done! I will never go back or any of my friends or family.

En ingles- (yo no puede escribir en Espanol bien) , entonces, ingles!…read more The food here is awesome! Our family is half Nicaraguan and half German-Spanish. We grew up eating grandma's Nicaraguan dinners and this is as close as you'll find to five star fabulously prepared Nicaragua meals. I ordered my favorite, which is Lengua con tomates y gallo Pinto. It's sooo good. My mom ordered pescado, my gringa wife ordered pollo y carne, and my brother ordered steak con maduros, Fritos y papas.... They even have cacao y pinol. All sandy n grainy like grandma made. We have been to the few other Nicaraguan restaurants around. One over by Loyola high school off Olympic, funky location, difficult to get into. The Gallo Pinto in Azusa, which is an easier location to get into with a mix of Nicaraguan and Mexican food. And now we have found this location. And after enjoying all three, I will tell you that this food wise and service wise is the most authentic and flavorful choice. It is five star of Nicaragua food preparation. The only drawback is it's location, nothing you could do about that. My mom's in a wheelchair makes it a little bit challenging to get in because it's not ADA friendly. So plan ahead, use the bathroom before you get there. And be ready for one of the best Nicaragua dinners in the greater Los Angeles area.

The counter sells various goods and clothing. Costillas de cerdo frito: The pork ribs are sliced horizontally so there are round sections of bone in the long strips of crispy flavorful meat. Gallo pinto is at the core of the plate with red beans and rice cooked together with onions. The rice is firm and buttery. The beans are tender. You can also have them served separately. The fried plantains are sweet and caramelized on the outside with soft centers. The rest of the plate seems covered in a hill of crispy thin plantain chips. There's a triangle of fried cheese - tart, firm, and crumbly. Take the pitcher on the table and pour out some of the hot sauce. It is packed with diced pickled onions with a vinegary sauce. Nacatamales: This giant tamal is a breakfast staple typically served with a caffeinated beverage (like coffee or Coke). After unwrapping the banana leaf wrapper, the masa has an orange tint from the achiote paste. The masa is moist, soft, and gooey. Embedded in the huge masa is a grocery list of ingredients, including olives, bell peppers, rice, pork, onions, raisins, tomatoes, and potatoes. It also comes with a big soft fluffy bread roll. Parking: There is street parking.

Now when you pull up originally you might think, "am I in the right place" but once you park and get into the courtyard, it is LOVELY! Amazing ambience! There is a bocce set up, string lights. It is a little slice of oasis in the middle of the fashion district. The restaurant itself - beautiful. I couldn't ask for more. Absolutely perfect in my book. Beautiful plants hanging, perfect Spanish music in the background (any place playing Natalia LaFourcade is a win). The drinks were great! I had the jungle bird which was fun. Food was so good too. The whipped beans are the star! We had the guacamole which was tasty, great tostadas with it. The arepas were good but the pork belly was a little too fatty (I know pork belly is always fatty) to the point the fat muted the flavored for the arepa a bit, but still delicious. The empanadas were great and as someone who lived in South America and ate empanadas every day, these really took me back to my Paraguay days. The squash blossoms were light and perfectly fried. Unfortunately my friends had gone to Funke the night before so they were comparing the squash blossoms and Funke won out, but they still liked Dama's! Small plates were enough for the 3 of us. The service was quick and attentive. Parking was easy for us. I will definitely be back!

I still had a little room and was praying that this, the third place where I'd grabbed something to eat would finally show a little skill. They nailed it. The pupusas were piping hot and generously sized. The revuelta was good but surprisingly the queso y loroco was even better. I don't know what it was, but there was something about that gooey, salty cheesiness that I was really digging. And naturally the curtido left me wishing I'd gotten another pound or two of the stuff. Salvadoran coleslaw is so, so, so much better than American coleslaw. Oh, and I got to do my magic trick. I spoke to the guy in Spanish and he stood there dumbfounded. He paused, looking at me, scrunched up his eye and asked me if I was Hispanic. Did I have Hispanic fiends? How could I possibly speak Spanish so well. My Spanish is mediocre on a good day. The fact that he'd NEVER met a Whitie whose Spanish was as good as mine is honestly a bit pathetic but it was hilarious to watch the mental gymnastics as the guy tried to figure out how a White dude could possibly speak a little of his language. I got a little laugh and some VERY good food. That's just about perfect!
