Shrimp Cocktail de Shrimp
Shanoah N.

Came in for a drink and a appetizer. My bartender was cute and friendly. Ordered the spicy strawberry margarita and the shrimp cocktail. The drink was delicious and well made. The shrimp cocktail was decent, not bad but not amazing. They used tiny shrimp, the cup was filled with shrimp, they definitely did not skimp. Lots was TV's to watch your favorite sports.

First time coming here and I liked it. I got the ceviche and it was ok. My friend got the Mexico City tacos and those were SO good. I got the Messclaudita and it was delish and strong. My friend got two beers. The service was great , our server was Eve (Evelyn P.) and she was really nice. It was Sunday so it was got pretty busy with the football games. I enjoyed the ambience and am looking forward to coming back to try more food and definitely drink specials during the week.

Coco is the best server. Drinks were good and the ambiance was chill. Would recommend for a lowkey vibe for a group.

May 17, 2026 12:15…read more Server Yaya Hawkins House of Burgers is a historic, family-owned restaurant in the city of Willowbrook/Watts area, Cynthia Hawkins is the owner. If you find yourself in the neighborhood you will realize quickly that it's not the best of neighborhoods. However you must stop by at least once at Hawkins to enjoy some hommade food. I had been wanting to come here for more than several years. Since I knew I'd be driving by them on my way back from visiting someone. I made sure to stop today and try them. There was several people sitting in cars and standing waiting for their orders. They have door dash and all these other delivery options. Most of there orders are delivery. We overlooked the menu and decided what we were going to get. We ordered 1 fat cheese without onions and tomato combo 1 triple cheese burger combo with large chili cheese fries added pastrami 1 peach cobbler The order came to $52. And some change There menu is American, specializing in burgers, but also serving tacos, hot dogs, chili cheese fries, and burritos. Menu highlight is the "Farmer Otis Burrito" (a 2-foot-long burrito) and options with pastrami and hot links. There menu options are huge just keep that in mind when ordering. We waited for our order for about 40 minutes. Remind yourself fresh and good things take time. My burger was so fresh packed with flavors the meat crispy the mayo and mustard on my buns made me wanting more. The pickles were delicious. Now for that triple burger make sure you bring your hunger that's no burger to play around with. 3 large patties just might send you into burger coma. Those large chili pastrami fries are a meal within themselves. We barley put a dent into them and gave up we were full. Now for dessert that Peach Cobbler was deliciously homemade. Only thing missing was some whipped cream. The cinnamon and nutmeg in each bite was mouth watering.

They have a cute photo op wall, tons of signature drinks as well as a full bar and lots of small bite plates that are big enough to fill you up. We had a variety of beef sliders, loaded nachos with shrimp (OMG so good!) and their fried salmon bites with garlic fries. The salmon was cooked to perfection and we're not dry like some fried can cause. We also had a few cocktails and my fave was the Red Bottom but with Tito's vodka. The service was super friendly and helpful and always checked in on us. Highly recommend if you're in town to visit the Sofi Stadium or another nearby venue as it was only 9 minutes away.

The security at the door was very nice, and the host was welcoming. She told us we could sit anywhere since it was pretty empty, so we chose seats at the bar to watch the large screens. After we sat down, got comfortable, and started looking at the menu, the bartender came over and asked us to move to another area. She explained that the other servers did not have any tables and did not want to be the only one serving. Meanwhile, other people were also choosing to sit at the bar, which made it confusing why we were the ones being asked to move. That interaction felt frustrating and unwelcoming. When guests are told they can sit anywhere, they should not be asked to relocate for internal staffing reasons. That is something management should handle behind the scenes, not something placed on customers. It completely changed the experience for us. We each had one drink and decided to leave. Very disappointing first impression. Staff should be better trained on how to handle situations like this without making customers feel unwelcome.

We work two blocks away, and a bartender here had previously encouraged me to stop in and reserve a table if the space felt right. I was genuinely excited about the idea of hosting our event here and wanted to see how the space functioned in person. When we arrived, the only open seating was a larger table, so we sat there and ordered one drink each. While we were halfway through our first drinks, we were asked if we could move to make space for a ten-person group. We agreed, the group behind us offered to include us at their table, and the server offered a complimentary drink for the inconvenience. I asked if we could receive those drinks before relocating. About a minute later, a young woman who identified herself as the owner approached and told us she would cover our tab, but that we were being asked to leave. No clear explanation was given. Shortly after, another staff member stated that I was "intoxicated," even though we had not finished our first drinks, had been calm, and had already agreed to move. The interaction came across as unprofessional and left us feeling singled out and treated differently than other guests. Being asked to leave mid-drink over a seating adjustment we were willing to accommodate was especially disappointing, given that this visit was made with the intention of reserving space for our group. I later reviewed video of the interaction, and the sequence of events matched what I've described: we were on our first drinks, cooperative, and not disruptive prior to being asked to leave. I'm sharing this so management can understand how the situation appeared from someone who was sincerely looking forward to hosting an event here and supporting a local business nearby.

From the second we walked in, the bartender was all smiles and super friendly. It had that true local bar feel--lots of regulars, casual chatter, and a vibe that just felt easy. Yes, the music was a little loud at first, but after a bit, it blended into the background and actually added to the energy of the place. We ordered wings (multiple sets, because one round was not enough) and a burger with fries. Let me tell you--the lemon pepper wings deserve their own standing ovation. Crispy, tangy, and absolutely addictive. The burger and fries? Spot on comfort food. To top it off, it was comedy night. I went from cheering for the Dodgers to full-on belly laughs in the same night. Bonus points for having nonalcoholic options--I had a Heineken 0.0 dressed, and it was perfect. My guy was happy with his drinks too, so win-win. Honestly, this place turned into one of those fun, random experiences you don't plan but end up remembering. Good food, good laughs, good game--what more can you ask for?
