The food is good however the service is terrible. The restaurant is empty and the server America had a horrible attitude just slapped the menus on the table. Didn't check on us once, I had an empty glass for a half hour, kept on waiting to see her but she was on the kitchen the whole time. We found it odd that the pricing on the menu was blacked out and not one item was recommended. Won't be coming back nor recommending due to poor service, shame because the food itself was good. Came to El Pescador to celebrate a family member's birthday and had a great experience! To start off, we ordered some alcoholic drinks. The strawberry margarita was so refreshing and had a perfect balance of sweetness to alcohol. For my entree, I ordered the Mr. burrito, which is half pork (green sauce) and beef (red sauce). The burrito was huge and soooo good! It was also less than $15, which is a great deal. The service was wonderful, and they even brought my family member a piece of birthday cake and sang happy birthday. We also liked that there was live music! I gave 4 stars because there weren't any prices on the menu. The prices were either scratched out with black marker or covered with new prices using a label maker, which was a bit concerning and off putting. read more

From the very beginning, the lack of attention was evident -- the staff came across as inattentive and dismissive. To make matters worse, several dishes were served undercooked and poorly prepared, which raised both quality and safety concerns. Overall, this experience showed not only poor service but also a lack of honesty and integrity. For a restaurant to succeed, consistency, transparency, and respect for customers are essential -- unfortunately, none of those were present here. On top of that i questioned the bill because it didn't make sense that a virgin margarita was more expensive than a regular margarita . We came to celwbrate my Dad's birthday. The food was delicious and the service was great. I had the Mr. Burrito and it was so good. I liked the red chile more than the green chile. I had a michelada that was also very tasty. They had live music playing which gave the restaurant a fun vibe. Our server was very attentive. This pescador has good food but I did not like having non stop loud music during dinner. Non stop loud music is is annoying, specially if you want to have a conversation with someone. This is supposed to be a restaurant and not a night club. Loud music is good perhaps on Saturday evening, on special occasions. I think I will try a different Pescador next time but if I feel in party mood, I know which Pescador is close to a night club environment. read more

As a kid my parents use to bring us here. Last time we came was about 12 years ago... today I remember why we stopped. Very poor service! Waitress was rude and didn't come to check on drinks. Food took over 40 mins to come out for a party of 9. Food was cold and came in different sections. Asked for two sides of rice and brought me the wrong sides twice. There was also an eye lash on the side of sour cream. At the end to top it off from giving her cash and 3 debt cards she charged one twice! If it's Friday night have enough personnel to provide great customer service! Mistakes like that make you upset! Too many for a bill of $300. Been to El Pescador on Atlantic in South Gate and Eastern and this hasn't been a problem before. Food tastes better at these locations and portions are serve about the same. Whomever the owner is step up your game and provide customer service skills to your waitresses. read more

Visited this restaurant 6 times in April with colleagues, vendors, clients etc. Good: Portions are huge. (5 Stars) Soup is included with most of the dishes Shrimp enchiladas in hot sauce (Enchilada De Camaron a la diabla?). I think I had this dish 4 times. The othet time it was regular shrimp enchiladas. (5 stars) Fried fish with Habanero. This was the first time I have ever had a fried fish whole. It was surprisingly good. Not too crunchy on the outside yet cooked and tender meat inside. (5 stars) Colleagues had the Ceviche plate and say it was delicious. Not good: Service was OK on 3 of the visits. it was good to great the other 3 times. We usually visit at 10:30 AM or so, and the place was not busy during any of our visits. -Water/soda not refilled. -Table ran out of salsa and chips. Horchata was not a free refill. We were charged for an additional Horchata when our waitress inquired whether we wanted a refill and I said yes. I would have expected this at King Taco, but not at a dine in. Service was very slow on March 21. Called ahead was told wait was going to be be 15mins when we around was told wait was an hour. That's understandable. Once seated it took 30'mons to get drink that we order. We kept asking random bus boys to get our waiter. Once we order food took and hour to come and once it arrived it was cold. They seem to have enough staff service at this location was horrible. The waiter due to being busy did not even check on use to ensure that our food arrived correct.
