The chefs are true professionals, and if you're a sushi enthusiast, this place should be on your list. Our server, Courtney, was incredible: attentive, kind, and on top of everything. I would genuinely come back for the food and for her service alone. HOWEVER. At the height of our dinner, an employee (I'm still not sure who she was) stood in the main dining area on FaceTime, and not subtle, discreet, muted FaceTime. NO. A child was scream-crying on the call while this employee packed orders right in front of everyone. Look, I'm not coldhearted. I get that life and work sometimes blend together. Emergencies happen, kids exist, and we all have tough days. But I work hard for my money. I have kids. When I go out to dinner with my husband (especially to a place with excellent food and prices to match). I'm there to relax, escape, and enjoy the experience. The service is always consistently good and quick. However, I'm growing very disappointed with both of their stores now. The sashimi is now limited. But the pieces are getting smaller and smaller . Be forewarned that if you order five pieces of sashimi, you're likely to only get one normal piece cut into very small slices in response to your request. The sushi now has a very generous amount of rice attached to it, which I believe is strategically done to fill you up. The rolls are also smaller, but somehow filled up more with rice and inundated with sauce to hide the fact that you're getting less proteins overall. I would have preferred that they raised the prices rather than bring down the quality. Or offer some alternative options for people that wanted to pay less, like eliminating the sashimi for that segment. read more

Our first time here. Experience was OK. For my wife and me, the environment was too loud. They had a packed house. Food was OK but we waited around 29 minutes for our second round with nothing on the table. Their fish quality was decent but selection was limited. We come to visit from out of town. A couple times we've been here we've ordered from here for big parties as most of us like sushi. Ordered a few party trays online and the food was ready on time. This was our first visit to use a gift card we received. What a fun place! AYCE sushi, and it's really good. Our server was super friendly and the sushi came out really fast. We ordered spicy Kani salad. There are so many different versions. This one was just crab so next time we will get seaweed salad also and just mix them together. Great place for groups! They have a great selection for all you can eat sushi. The fish is really fresh and the staff accommodates any requests! We were able to do three rounds of sushi as a group of four. We ordered 40 pieces of shumi, brunt our tongues when they first came out but they are soooo addictive. This is a nice little asian restaurant in those suburbs strip malls. AYCE was $30 during the weekends. There's a kitchen and sushi menu to checkoff what you want to eat. There's even sashimi which is a huge bonus for me. My favorite kitchen item was the fried calamari. And my husband thought the filet mignon roll was quite tasty. The food had a good rice/fish ratio. Checked out another new place after relocating here from CT. I will say that there are more options for Asian cuisine than CT but that doesn't necessarily mean that the quality is there. Let me explain. Stopping in on a busy Thursday night we were sat near a much larger table with a couple adults and kids. That can only mean one thing for the rest of the tables, trouble. Sadly the service was lackluster because the larger table ordered two sushi boats which tied up two of the sushi chefs preparing that while the last chef was stuck taking care of more takeout orders than the tables that stopped in for a bite. The wait staff being understaffed were stretched thin with the manager taking care of takeout orders while one waitress was handling tables and the other supporting her but was a clearly still training. We placed our orders and caught up with each other about work while we tried to get their attention to place our orders in. Ordering our typical calamari, mushroom soup, spicy kani salad along with seaweed salad they all came out pretty quickly when we were able to put our order in. The kani salad looked and tasted like it was mixed with Mayo and sriracha as it had a deep red hue to it which I haven't seen in other sushi places in CT, NJ and DE where I've had my sushi usually. Mushroom soup was the same as I've had elsewhere. The mushrooms looked like they were added into the broth just prior to serving so they don't wilt too much. Shumai was fried and hot when we bite into it, tasting shrimp and crab with our bites. We ordered a couple of rolls including a filet mignon which wasn't filet but beef on a roll, giving me a surf and turf feel in my mouth. Other rolls include a pink lady with pink seaweed wrap, a mango roll that didn't have enough mango along with a yummy eel roll. My go to is always sashimi which we placed along with our rolls but came out a long while after we finished our rolls. I joked that we were gonna get stuffed with the rice and not finish our sashimi and two of my party tapped out before that order came. You can't go wrong with the red clam, salmon and eel though my friend stated that the eel was torn up a little too much and wasn't slices like the other fishes. The peppered tuna was dry from the pepper and I personally prefer it in a vinegar sauce to keep it moist. The white tuna was better than I've had it elsewhere it wasn't as watery like other places which is a plus as I've always bit into it and it always seems waterlogged. We know that orders are handcrafted and prepared order by order but when one table is eating their sushi boat, take out orders are being completed and the other patrons along with us are looking at the sushi bar hoping the next dish is theirs then you might want to reevaluate your priorities. Especially if you are going to raise the price from around $21 to around $26 then you'll need to ensure that customers are paying for both quality of food and quality of service. read more

We went for the all you can eat option which was around $30 pp. The menu was large and the food came out pretty quickly, but there seemed to be a bit of confusion between waiters on if we put everything on one paper menu or individually and what was technically allowed for the all you can eat. They put all the sushi on one large plate in the middle so people on the ends of the table were struggling to get their rolls which could have been planned better. However, a great majority of them has many ingredients that go well together but they just lose its own unique taste. The bad: Service and logistics. I made a reservation for 10 only to find out when we already showed up that they confused the days and they already had another reservation for 12 that night. We ended up waiting 30 minutes to be seated and another 40 to get the food. Then we waited another 25 for another round that we ordered. Then we waited another 30 minutes for our checks. We had to ask for ginger and checks multiple times. It was very annoying and time consuming as we were there from 6:30 to 9:30pm and we never even got a single apology. I've been coming here consistently since 2022 and I can absolutely say the services and quality of food have gone down tremendously. First I wouldn't necessarily blame it on the waitress but the one in charge of the waitresses. It's been multiple times with same shift lead (lady) that when I've attended with my family (3) we either do not get sat at all after waiting 30 min at the front, when we do and she attends us she tries to rush us or ignores us when no one else is on the floor. Once again the waitress on the other hand are great. The sushi as well has gone done significantly in quality and it's mainly on the chefs just honestly seems like they even try at all anymore and just fill it all the way up with cream cheese even if the sushi roll doesn't come with it lol. This is also not to mention how they try and charge my new born son as an adult and have had to complain about it or say something even till now which he is only 2 years old! We then got a notification from our bank that our bill was 10 dollars more then what we paid. They decided to forge the tip and tip themselves $10 dollars. Came here to try the all you can eat sushi menu! They give you a separate menu with all you can eat items then sheets of paper to check off the items you want. We ordered a variety of rolls and they came out pretty quickly. The sushi is fresh and very good. The only thing I don't like about this place is they put tons of rice in the rolls so you fill up pretty quickly. The other items you can order like calamari is okay. The lumpia I thought was the best side you can order. One of my new sushi place favorites in DE. This restaurant is relatively new with lots of ongoing advertisement. My friends/colleagues told me about this place when I said I really only enjoy sushi buffets when I go for sushi. This place is an all-you-can-eat (AYCE) sushi joint where they give you a piece of paper and you jot down what you want for the table. They have sushi, sashimi, multiple special rolls, and hand rolls. They even have a hot menu with appetizers, small plates, salads, and ice cream (yes, they have red bean and green tea; 2 amazing flavors). The quality of the sushi is actually surprisingly really good! I was going to Sakura previously on Kirkwood (also AYCE sushi), and I would said the quality of this place is definitely better. Price is a tad bit higher, but not by much. They have other options besides AYCE as well, though I wouldn't know why you don't want it since the price for 2 sushi rolls would be about the same. There is a limited alcoholic drink menu. Plenty of parking since it's part of an shopping plaza/strip mall. Staff is friendly with no particular bad/good things to comment about. First time trying out Sushi Xtreme, heard about it in an advertisement. It is a small location with a semi-dim lighting ambience. Compared to a lot of other sushi establishments, this location is quite small like a cafe. I enjoyed the change in environment that I am used to. The employees were all friendly and were very helpful. I went around 5pm and it was not very busy until around the time I was leaving at 6:30pm. Just like most AYCE sushi restaurants, a sheet or sheets of paper are used for ordering. Not every AYCE sushi place includes sashimi, but this place includes it in the price! I was also very suprised that dessert is also included; I would have loved to try the green tea ice cream (a favorite of mine) but was too full to. Another, this restaurant has these "specialty rolls" that change every month or so. These rolls are limited one per table. After placing our order, the food arrived in a very quick manner and presentation looked great! All in all, I'd say for the price of $23.50 (weekday dinner price) it was worth the experience. Very nice sushi place! The restaurant has very fresh sushi and sashimi in a good varieties. The tempura and soups are delicious as well. Will come again when we crave sushi. Always order sashimi like salmons, elk, squid and you name it, appetizer like seaweed, miso soup, fried tempura, taro, Tofu etc. don't order the sushi at first round if you choose all can eat. It was a bit confusing at first since it was our first time and our waiter didn't really explain or introduce them self ( found out all the servers just comes and goes as needed like taking our plates, giving us another sheet to feel out, get the check. You don't get one assigned server) There was a tiny note on your table how it works and what table you're at. You then fill out a paper to order what you want. There are limits of rolls you can order at a time. It makes sense in a business stand point but I was so hungry and wanted my rolls but couldn't get it the first round cause all of my husband's rolls come out first and I just had to wait for him to finish. When he did finish, that's when they get the empty plate and give you another sheet to fill out. There are signs saying you must eat everything or you'll be charged a dollar per piece. I love this place. We've gone a couple of times for the all you can eat option. Lots of choices made fresh. I did find that the first round seemed to taste better than the second round. Don't know if that was an aberration or not, so now we just order everything we are going to want the first time.
