This is a small hole in the wall place that's REALLY good! As a vegetarian, I really appreciated how they could basically modify any roll to make it vegetarian. The service was fast, Steven was our server! I absolutely loved it and highly recommend stopping by! Immaculate vibes!

Really solid sushi joint! Great service and everything we ordered was fresh and delicious. You get a lot of sushi for a great price. Don't sleep on the Sushi Fruit! It was amazing!

Catching up on Yelp reviews in 2024. I have been to Sushi X once and I have ordered delivery multiple times. Sushi X has become one of my favorite sushi places in Chicago and it's off the beaten path away from the West Loop and Wicker Park. The first time I went was to celebrate one of my friend's birthdays and he had a huge crowd of about 20+ people so we took up pretty much the entire restaurant. Sushi X is BYOB. Ambiance is pretty dark and almost felt like a nightclub and there is some cool artwork on the walls. The rolls are pretty creative and the special rolls are pretty big. Regular rolls are about $8-$10 while special rolls are about $15-$20. Again, the special rolls are pretty big. They do a roll of the month where a special roll is $12, which is a nice discount. Rolls are packed with rice, which make them pretty filling. Sushi is very fresh and I love their Nigiri. Overall, I am very glad that my buddy introduced me to Sushi X. I have had numerous times and it has been great every time. Service was adequate and I haven't had any delivery issues. I will pretty much eat any rolls and I tend to stick to salmon, tuna, yellowtail, and crab for Nigiri, which are all excellent. Prices are fair for Chicago and portion sizes of the rolls are big so this is actually pretty good value. Definitely give Sushi X a try!

Here is yet another place for sushi in a city full. If looking for a chill hip place to get this delicacy, come here. Sushi X is just east of the Expressway on Chicago Avenue close to the Blue Line station. Just so happened to be around here so it was convenient. They had just opened up for lunch so we came in and got a table. As with many of these sushi restaurants, there's a menu of contemporary and more traditional rolls, most with some kind of fish. It has a few vegetarian ones. This made choosing pretty easy though. It's $5 for most rolls, which is good. We got an Avocado Roll and a Spinach Roll. Both were awesome. The Avocado Roll was pretty typical, except this one had sesame seeds. Basically if you've had one this isn't much different, but you know what you're getting. The Spinach Roll was more unique. It's seasoned with garlic, sesame oil, and sesame seeds. This was the first time we ever had this type. Good enough. The spinach thankfully wasn't wilted like we thought it could have been like. Cool little place for sushi and some other appetizers. It closes between lunch and dinner Mondays to Fridays. They're open for dinner only on the weekends.

I'd say the music and vibes in the restaurant are really catered to young adults which is fantastic. The food I felt was not exactly that great. The chicken katsu for example was way too breaded and could barely taste any of the actual meat. The R.O.K dish was way too salty. The sushi does; however, did taste decent. For the quality of food and the pricing I would say it's pretty reasonable. Reason why I gave this a 3 stars is because I told them ahead of them that we were celebrating a birthday and even reminded the waiter during our dining duration. He still forgot anyways which is pretty disappointing.

You can't miss this place since the front of the restaurant is covered in a huge mural of a woman. Dinning room is small, maybe 7 tables. The staff is super friendly. There is plants street parking around. Check out their monthly deals for heavily discounted items. Tried the DoubleStack With tuna, salmon, cilantro, avocado, mayo, masago and citrus chili ponzu and the Spicy Tuna w/ masago, sriracha and mayo. Both were very good

This is a small no frills sushi joint, with cool house music and a projector to play background videos while you eat. Nothing fancy, and the sushi rolls definitely don't disappoint! Great prices for even better roll portions. It's also byob! Wasn't a fan of the $5 corkage fee, but not a huge deal. The service was super friendly and quick as well. Here's what we ordered and loved: - double stack roll - five o roll - sashimi roll - spicy tuna roll - Maui wowie roll - megaton roll

The best sushi in Chicago. Everything that I order from Sushi x is amazing and consistent. The shrimp fried and pan seared gyoza are great appetizers.

If you are traveling solo, the is the best seat in the house (immediate right table)

So I just I'm coming off of a 2 and 1/2 day virgin vacation in Chicago. I saw a lot over the weekend, and stumbled into here as it's my last night and it's right next to my Airbnb, and I love sushi. Yet this is a review I'm going to immediately write because this place is fabulous!! I just had the Godzilla roll. This is like super candy sushi! Really tasty...my brain at one point spun off into some sushi haven heavenly universe with dancing fish in the sky while eating it; it must've been the (fabulous) club music playing... In spite of the nightclub vibes, keep in mind this a BYOB venue. Also keep in mind, this fabulous Godzilla roll is on the menu in June, and then it's rotated out, to entice you to come back. I sure would, but alas, back to Boston I go. And thank you my friend who took care of me - I enjoyed your New England Patriots story very much and wish you the best of success!

This spot in Chicago is a cute little place for sushi! The space intimate and great for a hang out dinner/date night! Be forewarned, this place does not sell any alcohol. So if you like some sake with your sushi, it's BYOB (bring your own booze). I was a little sad I couldn't have some sake with my sushi! But still was good and fun without it! The food is pretty good, taste fresh and full of flavour. I don't remember exactly which rolls we ordered, but we did order 3 rolls and one had mango, which was incredible! Everything cam out fresh, hot food was nice and hot. Service was good, with host coming by every few minutes to top off water, tea or simply check up on you. Because it's a small space, you get lot of attention from staff. Ambiance was fun, with EDM music playing, making me want to dance more than eat [maybe that's why they don't sell alcohol ;) ] ! But over all a fun space. As for price, it was very reasonable and inexpensive. Parking is public on street. Again, since it's a small space, I'd call to see if you can get reservations since may be full or busy on popular weekend evenings.

It's crazy it's completely died down by the time we were finished with our meal. The service was great, the interior decor was beautiful and the staff was friendly. The dim sum offered for brunch was good as well but pricey. Especially since some dishes were only offered with two pieces. If you have a party of three then you're kind of forced into buying two of the same dishes. Which is strange. Traditionally most dim sum dishes have three pieces. Rarely see 2 pieces being offered especially for double the price. We ordered their Jiaozi, Char Sui Bao, crab Rangoon, chilly chilli noodles, and their Xiang long Bao. All were great. The chilly chilli noodles is served cold and was very flavorful. The Xiang Kong Bao was amazing. The potstickers was probably my favorite dish and it's mess up char Sui Bao. We were going to order wings but they had ran out I guess by 12pm on a Sunday. I was also going to order fried rice but it wasn't offered for brunch. Overall despite the priciness of the menu, we still enjoyed our food and the service. I obviously knew what I was getting myself into by visiting this place, and can definitely see myself returning in the future.

The place was close to our hotel which was even better after exploring Chicago. When we go here we checked in and were asked to stand on the side and we will be seated. Finally a male host came and sat us. I think that was like a 15/20 wait. Our waitress was friendly and hospitable. She was cool to talk to and attentive to our needs this evening. We got the crispy rice wagyu and those were delicious. We also got the yuzo ribeye and black cod and those were really good. The kids loved the ribeye!!! The crispy chicken was glazed in a sweet and flavorful sauce, and each bao was also stuffed with fresh veggies that provided additional crunch. My favorite sushi roll was the Panda Roll because it included shrimp tempura and was drizzled with a combo of sweet and spicy sauces. The Sake to Me roll was also good, but I could have used some soy sauce to mix with the wasabi for additional flavor. The pad Thai had solid flavor, and I appreciated how it did not skimp on the protein. While I thought it would be jarring to consume such a wide variety of cuisines in a single meal, it was actually fun to share and try a little bit of everything.

It was a hot day, but the breeze on the rooftop made it incredibly comfortable. The views of the Chicago skyline...including the "Willis" Tower were beautiful. The cocktail had the perfect level of sweetness, and the food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The space itself is modern, chic, and aesthetically pleasing, with warm wood finishes and darker tones that create a sophisticated atmosphere. The service was just as impressive...everyone was friendly, attentive without being overbearing, and happy to answer questions and offer recommendations. Between the food, drinks, rooftop views, and exceptional hospitality, this is easily a place I'll be coming back to. It might just become one of my regular happy hour spots.

The vibes were super cute, the rooftop atmosphere was really nice, and the energy definitely felt more like happy hour/girls night than an intimate date night. They had a DJ playing while we were there, which made it fun, but it was honestly a little hard to talk sometimes because of how loud it got. One thing to know they are VERY strict about reservation timing, so definitely make sure you arrive on time. Once we got seated though, the service was honestly incredible. Our server checked in on us multiple times throughout the night and was so friendly and attentive the entire experience. For drinks, I got the "Liar Liar" cocktail because the coconut cream sounded good, but it ended up being a little too bitter for my personal taste. My friend ordered the espresso martini and wasn't really feeling that one either, BUT my other friend got the lychee martini (which I think is one of their popular drinks) and she was absolutely obsessed with it. The real standout for me was the dessert. We ordered this espresso martini-inspired dessert and it was honestly TO DIE FOR. Probably my favorite thing we had all night. So rich and delicious. I also really appreciated that when making the reservation, we mentioned we were celebrating a birthday, and they actually acknowledged it by bringing out a cute little dessert plate with mochi ice cream and strawberries. Small touches like that always make the experience feel more special. Parking was actually pretty doable for the area, which was nice. Overall I'd give it a solid 4/5. Cute rooftop, great service, fun atmosphere, and definitely somewhere I'd come back to for another girls night or happy hour.

We ordered fewer plates than was recommended by our waiter and we were all plenty full by the end of our meal and still had leftovers. For six of us, we ordered three burgers (one couple shared theirs), the jackfruit bulgogi entree, two orders of garlic rice, crispy chili cauliflower, everything shrimp noodles, the imperial rolls and budino to be shared for dessert. What can I say about those burgers? Wow! Just wow. I had an egg on mine and when you pressed on the bun, the yoke of the egg would drip down. It was a messy burger to eat but with, hoisin aioli, pickled jalapeño, dill pickles, miso butter onions, american cheese and sweet potato shoestrings on the side, it was beyond delicious. Other favorites were the crispy chili cauliflower and the everything shrimp noodles. Nice, simple presentation of all the food and everything had great flavor. We were a little underwhelmed with the budino, but we loved everything else. The spacing of the food coming out wasn't always great.
