They use way too much rice, minimal other ingredients, and not very fresh & tasty. Ordered 2-3 times, so not just 1 mediocre meal.

Overall: 4.5/5.0 ________________________________________…read more*Food: 1. Agedashi Tofu & Kirimochi - Light batter on tofu and kirimochi, but enough to soak up the tempura sauce. - Kirimochi and tofu were both soft and chewy with a crispy exterior. - 10/10 2. Lobster Kara Age - Just what you would expect from Kara Age, crispy and juicy. Not too oily, not too much batter. - Yuzu mayo covers the oiliness of the fried lobster. Citrus sauce is not overwhelming. - 10/10 3. Sushi & Sashimi Combo (Sushi) - Excellent quality sashimi grade fish. No fishy aftertaste, rice was not overly sweet or salty and not overcooked. Fish slice size was larger and thicker compared to other restaurants. - 10/10 4. Sushi & Sashimi Combo (Sashimi) - Excellent quality sashimi grade fish. Hamachi was extra fatty and had amazing texture. Akami was not fishy at all, texture was great. - White fish on the side with yuzu sauce was a little fishy. Could improve, but overall an amazing dish with thick cut sashimi. Definitely satisfied expectations. - 8.5/10 5. Otoro Tuna Sashimi - Market price; reasonable price for the thick cut and quality. - Melts in your mouth, no fishy aftertaste. - Ordered after checking the fish quality from the sushi & sashimi combo. I had high expectations and the expectations were met. Great slices of fish. 10/10 ________________________________________ *Service: - Reservation was 6:30pm, but due to traffic, I arrived 15 minutes late. I had called in beforehand, which they kindly let us in despite the delay. Once seated and ordered at 7:00pm, pre-dinner sides, miso soup, and water were provided. Appetizers came out 10 minutes later, sashimi and sushi came out 10 minutes after the appetizers. Despite full seating, food came out fast, and of course with excellent plating and quality. Servers came around frequently to check on any needs. Overall, friendly servers, food quality is great. ________________________________________ * Atmosphere: - Overall very much satisfied. For the price of the items, quality and quantity was assured and tasted great. Restaurant was clean and quiet despite the full seating. Again, friendly servers and excellent food quality as well as fast serving time. Portland never really had great sushi/sashimi, but I definitely recommend coming here at least once, as the items I have ordered tasted great. Many liquor choices(wine, beer, sake, cocktails, etc.) and good choice of desserts as well. Would recommend if you dislike fish due to its fishiness since the sashimi and sushi here have no unpleasant aftertaste.

I get that it's 2026 but over $30 for what I got was a little steep. The food is high quality. The rice is not too heavy and it's seasoned well. I saw a couple reviews about the rice falling apart and I can definitely see that. I got the Tokyo roll. All the Ingredients sounded good so I thought why not. The whole definitely ends up is than the sum of the parts. The bonito is a bit much and all I ended up tasting was bonito. The tempura roll was good. Quality shrimp. Just a little high a price for what I got. It's very possible I have been too loyal to my steadies which have a very good value. I could see myself coming back on someone else's dime or if I was feeling extra saucy.

Once we stepped inside, we were immediately struck by how beautiful the decor was. From the cherry blossom tree with seating built around it, to the wood-and-paper accents, to the elegant wall screen and custom dining tables--everything felt thoughtfully designed. Our dining experience truly felt luxurious, like a little slice of Japan right here at home. Service was excellent as well. Our waitress was friendly, patient with our questions, and quick to bring out our sushi and water. Even the water bottle was a gorgeous textured design--such a nice touch. The menu offers giant specialty rolls, nigiri, and smaller rolls, with photos of most items except the small rolls, which made ordering easy. There's plenty of seating inside, but definitely check the hours before you go. They close at 2:30 pm and reopen at 5 pm, and we've been caught arriving too late before. This restaurant may be a small local chain, but everything tastes incredibly fresh and is made to order. They also offer bento boxes and daily specials, giving lots of great options no matter what you're in the mood for. A fantastic experience all around--highly recommended!

At sushi restaurants our younger child usually only eats plain rice, and our older one is a picky eater who will eat a little chicken. We initially asked to order the kids teriyaki chicken for our older child but were told the kids menu is only for 7 and under. Since we do have a 5 year old, we ordered the kids meal for her and a side of rice. When the food arrived and we placed the chicken in front of our 10 year old and the rice in front of our 5 year old, there seemed to be some confusion among the staff, which created an awkward and uncomfortable moment for us. In the end our 10 year old only ate a few pieces of chicken and our 5 year old had a little rice, which is exactly why we ordered the smaller portions. It caught us off guard since we did have a child under the age limit at the table and were ordering plenty of food, and families often share plates. A little flexibility or discretion in situations like this might help avoid making families feel uncomfortable. That said, the staff were genuinely very kind and accommodating overall, and very sweet as we were leaving. Overall a beautiful space with very nice staff.

It was quiet, and we were seated quickly. I ordered the rice patty burger. I thought the taste was okay, it was a tad bit under seasoned but the sauce kinda made up for the flavor. The concept of a rice burger is interesting but it does get really messy because it breaks apart easily. The fries were delicious, though! The popcorn chicken was breaded nicely and had a great crunch and flavor. My partner loved the fried oysters. The squid was alright, it was a bit too chewy to bite into to tear. The drink was delicious! I believe I got the strawberry yakult. Overall it was a great place to try out a few of the appetizers!

SUPER VALUE, I highly recommend ordering this. The omurice was super wet, very rich/flavorful. But not too overpowering, great balance between saltiness, sweetness from the glaze and richness. Katsu was super crunchy not too dry, just overall great. Matcha dessert was my favorite, you can really taste the high quality Matcha Powder they used. Just a great balance of sweetness, not too sweet. I recommend trying Kyuramen for their Omurice combo! Restaurant had stunning interior with the hexagons aesthetics. Overwhelming friendly and attentive staff.

I never thought I would get good ramen outside of Japan. Service is usual for a Japanese restaurant. It's just so polite and friendly. On a crowded day for lunch, we sat down to see how Kizuki Ramen & Izakaya fared on this legendary Japanese dish. Though tempted by several options on the menu, we could not resist the calling of the Garlic Tonkotsu Shoyu Ramen, which seemed to be the house favorite. Service was prompt and efficient, and they dished up a pair of bowls for us in hardly any time at all. Our assessment? Noodles. I've had ramen all over the place, and Kizuki wins top marks for its overall texture and consistency. If there's a better noodle in the world, I have yet to find it. It's got that perfect chew. Broth. The garlic tonkotsu broth is a winner. Obviously, you need to like garlic if you're going to like this broth, but it's a feature of the broth, and I didn't find it overwhelming. I didn't leave a single drop of it when I was done, which is all you need to know. Goodies. Kizuki includes high-quality ingredients that included a full soft-boiled egg, onions, bamboo shoots, pork chashu, seaweed (nori), and sprouts. I've been to some ramen shops that may have had more, and certainly some who have had less, but this is probably the best quality/quantity blend I've experienced. I might recommend splurging for the extra pork-belly, for those who are protein inclined, but still, top grades for the goodies. Kizuki is an expanding chain, and if other branches have the same formula, then they've done a great job preserving quality with a winning formula. While I only had the one menu item, it feels like the core principles wouldn't change much, so I'm pretty confident in a five-star for this place. Service was just as good as the food, despite it being a packed house. Well done, Kizuki! Arigato gozaimasu! いただきます!

The space is so much bigger and very cozy lighting. A few of us are gluten free and I am pregnant and they were so accommodating!! We had Lynn, and she was so wonderful. I've been craving ginger and wasabi and she even sent me home with some extra. The fish was so fresh, the sushi rice was perfectly seasoned. We got the avocado roll, Volcano, Golden California, Spicy cream cheese, Inari, seared salmon, squid, octopusc chicken Karaage, Fried Gyoza, and the pork belly miso ramen. It was all incredible. My favorite was the nigiri. Very fresh. We had a couple with two kids next to us and the serve was so kind to them too!! I can't wait to come back here sometime soon

We then went to the Sherwood restaurant location; after our receipt of confirmation our online order was submitted and paid for to retrieve our order. No prior information had been offered to the user of their online ordering feature via their website. Additionally, a lady who arrived at the same time as us, who had placed an order for pick up via Door Dash was also told that they had cancelled her order placed. Disappointed in the lack of customer service displayed to both us as well as the customer who was in the lobby with us. Disappointed in the poor management of the company's website and socials regarding their need/decision to simply cancel to go orders without any explanation nor accommodation. Both our party and the woman previously mentioned left empty handed. Simply, we were told we would receive a reverse of any charges made. The other female customer was told to bring up the cancellation of her order with Door Dash directly. This restaurant is not new. The current location of which and where they operate from is relatively new. This restaurant is no longer worth our time and other resources. A simple explanation to what or why a refusal to fulfill our order, a simple apology for any inconvenience and or lack of communication via their website would have gone a ways. Not at all the approach the management took in this instance. We will no longer give our time, attention, or dollars to this establishment when considering restaurants in our area. Happy New Year!
