This place is deceivingly small when you first enter. We were in the waaaayyyy back room. I imagine that this would be great to reserve for a large party. Our server was really sweet and helpful. Most of our party were first time visitors. Dined with two repeat customers. Arrived around 4p on a Saturday. Plenty of street and garage parking. No wait to be seated. A couple of hours later, the v eye was packed with a wait to get in. Ample inside seating for booth and table. Some outside tables. Zoey was our server. She was attentive, as was the rest of the wait staff. Our empty dishes were quickly removed from the table. Glasses remained full. We arrived in time for happy hour. Prices and selection was decent. A few oddities for me were was the fried sushi. We ordered tempura shrimp sushi. NEVER had it with the entire piece of sushi fried. We expected tempura shrimp inside of the sushi. Also, the bubble tea was $5. We opted to not get bubble and it was regular price. Spring roll were small like they could have been frozen. Spicy edamame, wonton, Rangoon and seaweed salad were delicious. Drunken noodles with shrimp was tasty. Portion was small for $25. It included ample shrimp, but the noodle portion was light. Bathrooms were clean. Ambiance was cool. Noise level was surprisingly not loud even though the restaurant got packed during our visit. I love to people watch and enjoy the downtown outdoor atmosphere. This is a perfect spot for a casual lunch or dinner indoor and outdoor seating both booth and table. The menu is diverse with a multitude of asian option's ranging in price for any budget. Reservations were not required but might be for dinner when it's high season. They have a fantastic happy hour 3pm-6pm with half price drinks, apps, and sushi with the full menu always available. I was immediately sat with friendly service enjoying a spread of apps and drinks on the perfect day. I was brought one incorrect item which was quickly replaced and never had an empty glass. I made a list of the issues we encountered while dining here: - dirty soy sauce dish - took more than an hour for our food to come - took 25 minutes to seat us despite having a reservation - forgot to bring out the appetizer until the main dish came. - There was an entire bug in the Soba noodles. Then when they brought out the replacement dish it was missing the chicken. They also charged us for the dish on the bill. We were there for lunch. Everything was good and servers were welcoming. The only thing I didn't like is when me and my daughter went to the bathroom before leaving the resto. As I was washing my hands, I saw an employee coming out of the 1st restroom door and when I was about to move to give her a space (bec I know she will go directly to wash her hands)... to my surprise, SHE DID NOT!!! She went out of the door and for god sake, she will go back to handle food and serve! Horrible! Isn't it mandatory for employees to wash their hands? Well unfortunately the best adjective I can use to describe this place is - nondescript. We went specifically for the sushi . Luckily we went during Happy Hour so the prices were reasonable. While everything was edible it was also tasteless and uninteresting. The service was good and the muddled mojito was done well but again, tasteless. We ate outside but went in to use the bathroom. Although I don't have much experience with Sushi Thais food, I didn't even have to stay for the food to realize this is a one star restaurant. All I wanted was for a nice evening for my anniversary with my girlfriend, instead I was met with terrible service and an overwhelmed staff. I called Sushi Thai to make a reservation for dinner at 7:30, or so I thought I made a reservation. Upon my arrival, I quickly realized how unmanaged Sushi Thai would be. We weren't seated until 8 even though I had made a reservation prior to coming. Even when we were seated, the madness didn't stop. After waiting for another 15 minutes at our table, a server did not come to take any sort of drink order. I then asked a manager to take our order, to which he replied "give me a moment" walking away. If I couldn't even get the time of day from the manager, how valued am I truly as a customer? This used to be one of my favorite spots. All 3 locations actually North Naples, Vanderbilt Beach Road and downtown on 5th. My past few experiences have not been good.... around Christmas I was told even though they were advertising a happy hour there was none... Just recently went in for happy hour and it was towards the end of happy hour and no one was waiting on me and they weren't busy... I just left the Location on 5th Avenue and they did not live up to their happy hour pricing... Not sure what's going on but I hope they get it together soon! read more
