It's always a treat to go for sushi and Fiji at Founders Square was definitely a good idea! The restaurant is small but nicely decorated with style. We were seated and had our drinks within a couple of minutes. The menu has a lot of choices, but we went with the long time favorite, spicy tuna roll and bento box lunches. The tuna roll was delicious and made fresh with quality ingredients.There is nothing worse than expecting fresh sushi and getting that slightly off tase. This was a good start to the bento boxes, which didn't disappoint. For starters we had the miso soup, which was better than many miso soups we've had in the past, it was very fresh and flavorful. The Mongolian beef and California roll were flavorful and the gyoza was crisp. Hubs liked the salmon and tuna roll that his bento box came with. They also offer a variety of sushi rolls, Asian grill entrees like NY steak and shrimp, or Nigiri/Sashimi which I always remind my husband not to order, since this never fills him up and he eats half of my dinner. His answer is he developed a taste when he was in Japan and it's now his favorite dish. Every here was super fresh and you can tell they take their time to the craft of sushi. The wait staff was very attentive and always asked if we needed something or a refill. When we ask questions about different items in the menu, our waitress was very knowledgeable about the items on the menu. We have a food allergy at the table, so we just wanted to make sure that whatever we ordered didn't coincide with that. If we ever go back to this area, we definitely want to go back to this place. Let's start with Javier! He was fantastic! I don't usually start with the staff but he was funny, Personable and offered great service. It was a Thursday night, we were a group of 6: 3 couples. Javier's attention to customer service allowed us time to sit and chat, catchup and enjoy each other's company without being pushy, overly friendly or rushing us. Each couple ordered their own mix of entrees, sushi and appetizers. All came out perfectly timed and delicious. We ordered three rolls: the S.T.T, Tuna Loco and Papi Chulo. Man oh man we made some awesome decisions! All three were delicious. The S.T.T was fried as an entire roll but not greasy or heavy. It was balanced, perfectly crispy and delicious in each and every bite. The Tuna Loco was so fresh and so good! The spicy tuna here is not your normal shredded "tuna" that resembles tuna kinda- it is chunks of tuna, poké style with kimchee sauce- and it's phenomenal. It's honestly not that spicy we kicked it up a notch- more to come on that. The Papi Chulo surprised us since I completely missed the plantain included in it- don't let that fool you- it is SO good!! The plantain is sweet but not sugary over poweringly sweet. It balances the fried grouper and jalapeño exquisitely. Get. The. Papi. Chulo! Now here's how to kick things up- order the wasabi Cream. It is included in the Hot Lady (which was going to be our fourth roll but we were too full). Next time! Sriracha was good and helped kick up our rolls as well. My personal two cents- it is a pricey place. When I compare Wakame salad (seaweed) and Edamame- I'm in the $5-6 range they were both $10. So if that gives you a gauge then know you are spending more here. The quality is good but at a premium. A great place to eat. Great service. We will be back. read more

Good food & nice service & thankfully some food is not too spicy. Idea to improve: replace the red & black peeling plastic Bento plastic boxes. Why? Been here countless times and same before they moved from their location on Naples blvd. Food quality is still the best! Can't go wrong ordering any of their sushi rolls. We start with spicy edamame and order the chicken red curry at 22.95 and an additional bowl of rice to share the dish with the table! Then we get our sushi rolls must get the Miami roll tried it for the first time an instant fav! The go to is the Godzilla roll and a sec on the beach gives a nice balance. This time we also ordered the hand roll boat which was extremely disappointing as we were told it was the same size as the rolls you order separately but was not at all and was way over priced for the item. I do not recommend to ever order the hand roll. Service is usually great but less attentive compared to past times we've been there. Fuji is a great date spot to share a roll or two and have some hot saki prices are reasonable and atmosphere is nice. I highly recommend going and checking it out for yourself. read more

Sushi rolls are quite good but the entrées disappoint. The Pad Thai was tasteless with dried out with overcooked chicken and not many other ingredients. I will only go with the Sushi now as other dishes are not getting the attention needed to ensure a flavourful meal. This was my first time here. Initially, we were going to order food to go. I soon decided that we would sit down and enjoy our food there and if we didn't finish, we would take it with us. The service was above & beyond even with being short staffed. The restaurant was clean in the dining area as well as in the restrooms. This is a very comfortable environment. I was slightly confused as to why my green tea tasted like the flavor of sesame. I finished my tea on the ride home but decided to open the teabag once I arrived. What I found inside was something I had not experienced before. There were not enough tea leaves in the teabag to produce this color. I believe that this is a product stretching strategy and I think it's brown rice being used. Has anyone else ever experienced tea like this? Update- this place always has delicious food in quick service. One concern I have posted a while back. What is the tipping? Suggestions on the receipts will be calculated post tax instead of pretax which is the universal standard (as you don't tip on taxes). If you live in Florida, specifically, you will see this is a very common sneaky thing. Many restaurants do. Yay, Fuji Sushi!! This is our go to sushi spot! This place is awesome. If you come.. do yourself a favor, definitely try the Bangkok Street Noodles. I've never been to Bangkok., but I'd like to think they'd be proud. Or.. Delish. Everything was delicious. Sushi was fresh and very tasty. We've had the best calamari. Crispy and done just right. We ordered the two tier tower and that was a feast for 3. Hamachi campachio (sp?) was the first dish and it did not disappoint. The blue crab fried rice was pricey but so delectable. We will definitely come back. I only took a pic of the tier.
