I'm a little taken aback that the reviews for this are so low. As I was searching for food, I found this place and decided to go there. The first waiter stepped up to me immediately and started to explain anything that I didn't know on the menu. So when I decided to do was order the dragon sushi roll which I thought would be hot but come to find out it's cold. After I was done, The bill with tax and everything came at a cost of $30, and that doesn't even include the tip. It was a little overpriced but I understand it's a tourist attraction destination, plus people are hungry waiting for their flight. So it's actually the perfect place to jack up prices. Really really good sushi!! I was very impressed! Especially since in Mexico. I needed to give one less star because we ordered the kimchi ramen and there was no kimchi. I would say this is fairly bland sushi, but if you order tempura and use the dipping sauce or sriracha with your meal you'll be a lot happier with it. Sushi Tequila had good service, but the plugs at the smaller bar didn't work, though the larger corner bar's plugs seem to. I was relatively pleased to find this sushi place at the airport (last time I was at the Cancun Airport I pretty much ended up eating bagged chips). The waiters were super nice, service was fast and the rolls were enormous. I got a salmon, cucumber, avocado, and cream cheese roll, which was a little different than usual as the salmon actually was on the outside of the roll. There was a significant amount of rice in the roll and soooooo much cream cheese ( think maybe a quarter of a packed of cream cheese). The rolls are a bit pricey (~ $13.00 USD)... but its an airport, it was gluten free/ I didn't get sick, and I was able to sit down and eat like a normal person... so I consider the price reasonable. read more

Wow...I cannot agree with most of the reviews on here. I stopped in here today prior to my departure and found the service to be very friendly and fast and the food definitely worth every penny. My waiter was Ivan Fernandez Gomez...great young guy. Works hard!! I started with the Tuna sashimi and it was fresh and came with maybe 15 thin tuna slices. It probably could have been a meal by itself if I wasn't this hungry today. I then had their mixed rice bowl (comes with chicken, beef and rice) which was again a healthy serving that could have stood alone. I was looking at the food options at the airport and decided to go for "Sushi Tequila" My flight was leaving soon so I asked for my meal to go. After a few minutes of waiting the server brings me the meal, I asked him for some soy sauce. Honestly, I strongly do not recommend eating at this place for several reasons. 1) The service is terrible. Yes, the waiter was polite, but he failed to really pay us any attention after delivering our food. For example, not once did he offer us complimentary water. We ate the meal without any liquid to wash it down. At the end of the meal, he then asked how much we would like to tip between 15-20%. This guy disappeared right after he delivered our food! 2) The food is awful. We had a 8am flight to catch so it was early in the morning and we wanted something soupy. We decided to get ramen to warm up our bellies. The ramen was awful. I can make tastier instant ramen at home with a few eggs and a pot. The soup wasn't hot, it was lukewarm. The egg was cold. I bit into it and I could tell it was a hard boiled egg that came out of a fridge and was only being warmed up by the soup. 3) overpriced. Yes airport food is supposed to be expensive. I ordered a ramen that was extremely mushy with pork that's very hard to bite/eat, my daughter's miso soup looked like cat's food that she didn't even eat, there were a few pieces for an order of edamame, and a small poke bowl for my husband. The server's so rude and when he brought the bill, immediately asked if tip will be 20% or 18%! They do not let you process the whole bill and tip situation as they come to your table with their mobile POS and talks fast, processes your payment and leave. For that order we were charged USD127!! $40 USD including tip for a bowl of ramen and a margarita was devastatingly expensive for airport food in Mexico. Perhaps it was in part sticker shock for my first time in Mexico... I didn't know how expensive things could be in Cancun. I got the mango margarita which was way too sweet. I waited for the ice to water it down a little before I drank it. I guess because it was the airport, they made it sweeter to cater to the American tourists? In Tulum, my friend had pointed out that the margaritas tended to be on the tart side and had to ask bartenders to make it sweeter-- no need for that here. I got the pork ramen-- the pork and the broth were good, but the ramen noodles really lacked chew and was kinda the texture of overcooked pasta. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great. It came out really fast after I ordered it. I really wish I'd done my research before settling for this place, but I was starving after the long ride from Tulum and I needed food ASAP and the more American places (Guy Fieri's, Johnny Rocket, Margaritaville, and Wolfgang Puck's) didn't really appeal to me.
