Sushi Sake definitely brings the vibes! From the moment you walk in, it feels chic, glamorous, and elevated. The bar is gorgeous and has such a sleek, sophisticated feel--perfect for a fun night out, date night, or dinner with friends. Even the hibachi area feels much more upscale than your typical hibachi restaurant.
Chef Mario was the highlight of our night! He was so much fun, had the best energy, and made the whole experience entertaining. We absolutely loved him!
There were a few misses with the food. Our soup came out cold, and we were surprised that the hibachi meal didn't include both soup and salad, since that's pretty standard at most hibachi restaurants. I'd also love to see more variety with the hibachi vegetables--ours were basically just onions and zucchini.
The biggest disappointment was the flavor. Everything looked delicious and plenty of butter was used while cooking, but somehow the food still tasted surprisingly bland. I was expecting those rich, savory, garlicky hibachi flavors and that irresistible sizzling flavor you normally get, but it just wasn't there. A little more seasoning and flavor would make such a difference.
That being said, the overall experience was still really great. The restaurant itself is beautiful, the atmosphere is lively and fun, and every server we interacted with was genuinely sweet, attentive, and welcoming. Between the gorgeous setting, great service, and Chef Mario's amazing energy, there's a lot to love about Sushi Sake.
We'll definitely be back and are hoping the food packs a little more flavor next time read more
