Poke bowl
Michelle S.

I saw that this place and it had 5 stars so I decided to try it. I had the poke bowl and it was alright I guess I'm use to it having eel sauce or other sauces to add the flavor. The only thing I got was soy sauce on the table the fish was fresh but with some sauces it would have tasted way better and the pink rice was really cool but it was really dry I only took 2 bites, the green seaweed was to much for me. Maybe I'll go again and try something else because they have 5 stars

Super Dragon Roll
Carrie P.

Tried a new sushi place for lunch in Keller. It's not a fancy place, very casual and inexpensive for sushi. The salmon sashimi was very good, as was the tempura soft shell crab appetizer! The super dragon roll was my favorite with warm cooked eel, spicy tuna, and tempura crunchies on top. Great flavors and textures! I usually prefer more traditional sushi that emphasizes the fish and less sauces, cream cheese, and tempura stuff. That's hard to find this far inland, though, except in the more fancy, expensive places. If you want something more casual, what I call "loaded sushi" is done right at Sushi River! It's also right next to the brand new To Chai For. I haven't tried it yet, but I love chai!

Sunday roll
Gemini K.

Was looking for a place close to where I was working and this place popped up. Gave it a shot because it had good ratings. I'm glad I did. The Sunday roll was awesome and it came out really fast. Service was good as well. I will definitely come back when I'm in the area.

I heard of Hoshi Ramen, while looking for restaurants I might want to visit in the future…read more Today, was that day, that I went to Hoshi Ramen. The restaurant is very elegant, very neat, clean and well organized. I got there as they opened, and was promptly greeted by Ms. Lucy, hoste/waitress, who was soft spoken, very welcoming, with a very nice smile and beautiful personality, and was very efficient. She took my order, brought me a glass of water, and I ordered the Shoyu chicken ramen for $13.00 plus $2.00 added for a large. The Shouyu Chicken ramen was very delicious, the chicken broth was so good great flavor. Albeit, in my humble opinion the noodles, other toppings and chicken was very sparse for the price of the ramen. But, as far as taste goes it was one the best I have had so far. I also had the chicken fried rice bowl, for $10.00 $2.00 added for chicken, and gyoza (6pcs), for $7.00. to go for my daughter. The chicken fried rice was very flavorful, and daughter said the guys was very delicious. I will most definitely be coming here again the food was very satisfying, Ms. Lucy, is awesome and very kind. Please come on in and support this great ramfn restaurant. Hope to see you there. I highly recommend it.

Back from Japan and craving Ramen we started the hunt for a local spot today…read more The service was excellent and the restaurant itself had a nice ambiance. Gyoza to start that were nice and crispy, could have done with more than the teaspoonful of sauce we were given though. Maximum tea points, hot green tea that tasted delicious and was served in the cutest little pot I've seen in a while. It was a terrible pourer though, but the waiter warned me and put some napkins on the table to clean up. The ramen was quite disappointing, I know how spoiled I currently am with the memory of Ichibahn burned into my brain, but...these were quite pricey and not that good. The broth was lightly flavored with little depth, the beansprouts and corn (why are these in my ramen?) Moved the flavour profile even brighter and there was quite a lot of green onion. With a $5 add on for 2 small slices of extra pork that's a $20 bowl. So yes, 3 stars. They have bottled Kirin so I might be back, but I will be exploring the other menu items.

Found out about this place on TikTok (shoutout to Sam's POV) ever since moving to DFW. I finally…read moregot the chance to come for a lunch with friends. The interior of the restaurant is very anime-esque. You order at the counter once you're ready. I got the Tori-Mayu. My friend (thanks Andy!) got us apps - takoyaki and karage. Both were excellent! I made the classic mistake, as usual, of eating the takoyaki while it was still pretty hot. Despite the burns to the inside of my mouth, it was definitely worth it. The karage was was absolutely delicious as well. Perfect amount of crunch with moist chicken on the inside. Pairs very well with the spicy mayo that is served on the side. For my main, I got the Tori-mayi - the chicken ramen broth with garlic oil. The broth was rich and flavorful. The chashu was meaty and savory. All of the extra toppings were of great quality. Though, what was undoubtedly the star of the show were the noodles. The texture was nice and springy - they served as the perfect medium for the broth and everything else. Service was great as well. They have a nice cute robot to help deliver everything which I thought fit within the theme. Would certainly come again!

The plant based ramen is really flavorful here. Usually, when the hubby and I check out a ramen…read morespot, the meat broth based ramen is good, but the plant based ramen lacks flavor. At this spot, both broths were good. We each got a version of black garlic chili oil ramen. The veggie toppings were the same, but mine also came with thin slices of very well marinated tofu. I enjoyed my bowl. The hubby liked the pork broth in his bowl, but the pork belly on top was tough. We also got appetizers. The Japanese pancake was crispy, but greasy. The fries were good and not at all greasy and dusted with a touch of spicy Asian inspired seasoning. They were OK. The ramen portions are large, so that was nice. Service is very good here. The human kind and the cute little "robot" that delivered our food. It's a small space, but has tables and booths. The tables in the booths are oddly not wide enough to reach your food, so we sat at a table. There is plenty of parking. If you want to try some flavorful plant based ramen, this is the spot. I gave 4 stars due to the yummy plant ramen and excellent service.

The soup was my favorite, clear flavorful broth and the clams were fresh and sweet. Service ofcourse was excellent. The owners themselves were serving us. Horrible food. I…read moreusually only post positive reviews but I really felt I had to post this negative one. We finally got around to eating at Takara today. We love sushi and ramen/asian type food. Well, this place was a HUGE disappointment. My husband ordered the beef ramen. The broth tasted off and the beef had no flavor and was WAY overcooked and rubbery. He had one bite/sip of all of it and was done. My son had the sushi. You can see how much he ate of it. The inside of one of the rolls was hard (shrimp) and the meat on the other one was not cooked right and tasted horrible. The worst part is that the employees could care less. One of them came over and asked if we wanted our ramen to go when clearly it hadn't been eaten. I said, "no thank you. My husband didn't like it." He just turned around and walked off. Then when the bill came a different server came over and asked if we wanted to go boxes. We said no, we didn't like any of the food. He looked puzzled, said nothing, and walked away waiting for us to pay. We did not want our meal for free but would've appreciated someone asking if we even liked the food since clearly we didn't eat it. But no, we payed our $100 and left. And we will never be back.
