I had an unstoppable craving for sushi and got very excited when I saw on Yelp most of their rolls were around $10. I'm sad to report everything's gone up about $5, but so is the times. The waitress was very knowledgeable and the food came out quickly with a solid portion size. Pretty average for sushi, but of a fishy aftertaste. Restaurant was very clean and spacious.

The sushi was delicious, easy process to add accommodations, really cheap for the quality, my only complaint would be the containers they come in lol they're so loud to open

OK my little babies! Today's business is a food business and it goes by the Name of Sushi Q on Sunset blvd and it is DA BOMB! It's a small place in a strip mall and if you blink...you'll miss it, so don't blink! The prices are fair...the place is clean, the service is fantastic and the food is AMAZING! I recommend the 2 item bento with Beef Teriyaki, Shrimp and Vegetable Tempura, blanched vegetables, salad rice, miso soup and dipping sauces!!! Don't waste time, just get down there!

    was...Chicken Teriyaki Bowl! lol

Chicken Teriyaki Bowl! (sorry for the TMI finished plate...and bent fork! lol) the food was so good that forgot to picture before full plate of good looking Teriyaki Chicken Plate. it was delicious! Please compliments to da chef! Teriyaki Chicken is really good, delicious and very flavorful. Loved it! very few word to say....TRY IT!

I would give this a 4 star for food and service, a 2 star for ambiance and the fact that there was no restroom and randomly located in a shopping center. So, its probably a 3.5. My friend and I are always looking for good sushi spots and we usually hit up DTLA or Little Tokyo, but I tried to find a place closer to her in Hollywood. I will say it's hard to tell sometimes if it's a sit down place vs casual to-go spot. I did like that parking was in easy, especially for Hollywood, so that's a definite plus. When I came in, there were a few patrons sitting and eating, but strange enough no one was speaking. There was a table of what I assume were millennials eating with headphones on, not saying a word to each other. I was greeted by the girl in the front and waited for my friend. My friend got there and we ordered. I asked for the poke bowl and they gave me a sheet to fill out. I got the poke bowl with half brown rice and half salad, spicy tuna and albacore. It was $9 and some change plus tax and tip. I read that it was the best bang for your buck. My friend got two salmon hand rolls. Overall my poke bowl was delicious! I think my friend seemed to enjoy her hand rolls, but she's a bit snooty about the environment and rolled her eyes a couple of times. She thought it was really weird that no one was talking except us. A lot of people came in and out, many ordering to go. I like this place overall, nothing fancy but quality food.

Here's what this place has going for it... 1) It is easy to customize your order to your liking. Each of my changes were $1 (ie: brown rice substitute for white and spicy tune substitute for crab meat). 2) The prices are decent. 3) Walk up order at counter so kinda a fast food style sushi place. 4) Great location off Sunset near Highland with a parking lot. Where things were not so good... 1) The rolls just didn't taste that fresh. 2) Spicy tuna felt "airy" which I don't like. I want to get what I pay for not "fluffy" fish. 3) Compared to similar places, it took a little long to get my food. I felt like they were short workers in the kitchen. All in all, not bad, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go here.

We only tried the carbonara udon, but it was truly memorable. The sauce was creamy although a little split, but not overly salty which allowed the subtle umami and miso flavors to shine. The noodles were cooked well and had a gentle chew. The bacon was juicy with lots of fatty bits. Next time I would add an ontama to it to make it even better. The service was great and quick. Marugame Monzo's sauce, however, is the opposite of Menchirashi's. The sauce is SUPER flavorful with a rich, creamy mouthfeel and a strong umami flavor from the bacon and miso. I added mentaiko since I did the same at Menchirashi and honestly, everything was fantastic. The udon itself is pretty much exactly like fresh udon in Japan. Perfectly bouncy, chewy, and satisfying. Staff were also wonderful and service was insanely fast. We probably waited less than 10 minutes for both our udon and tempura, and they consistently checked in to make sure everything was good. I can't wait to come back and try more of their menu, especially the uni cream udon. The only thing I didn't like was the shrimp tempura since it had a lot of batter and not a ton of shrimp, so it was on the greasy side. I did enjoy the soft boiled egg tempura though. The yolk exploded into the udon and somehow made the whole bowl even better hehe. There are plenty of tables inside with limited bar seating. If you're a 2 top you might be sharing a table real close with some neighbors (they put a divider). If there's a wait, write your name down on the clipboard outside!

The fried onions on top of the Tokyo roll were crispy and sweet. Uni was fresh and delicious! I had uni only one time before and had a bad experience (it was incredibly fishy, and now I realize, not fresh). So I was apprehensive at first but I'm glad I gave it a chance because this uni was buttery, smooth, and briny in all the right ways. - Matcha tea was okay, medium profile matcha flavor. Not bad for the value though. Clean and refreshing. -Might be a small thing to point out, but I like how they include lemon slices automatically in the water. Snagging a reservation took some time but was worth the effort. Our meal was an incredible experience--the service, the way each course was presented in such beautiful dishware--the meal was a well-planned journey and one of the best dining experiences we've had. We dined here again in January and it's taken me some time to process this experience and put it in words. The dining room interior has been remodeled since our last visit. The atmosphere helps you focus on being present, being in the moment, being still when each course comes. With excited anticipation you take the lid off of the soup bowl or the staff unveils a dish, so your focus is seeing, smelling, feeling, tasting and enjoying the first bite and all the flavors in the dish before you. We ended up ordering the toro garlic toast, veggie tempura, ginza roll, and several pieces of nigiri sushi. The toro garlic toast was pretty good - sort of like a spicy tuna crispy rice situation ... but a little fattier and more garlicky than crispy. The ginza roll was pretty good too - a lot of fish in the roll and wasn't overwhelming with too much sauce. The tempura was good too- not super oily and all your typical veg involved. The nigiri sushi were pretty well prepared. The size was pretty good for the price - and each were accompanied by a small garnish on top or a little bit of sauce brushed on. All in all - I wouldn't say it's a date night place, but is a good easy eats sushi spot for rolls and nigiri for the price. Would recommend!

I had placed a phone order, for pick up; upon arrival, I found the service was prompt. I saw my food ready to go, just past the main walk-in area. Almost immediately after that, I was taken care of by the host and on my way. I've been waiting to try this place for ages so on the drive back to work I was excited to steal a piece of meat from the bag. Initial bite flavor was good, meat was tender just a bit on the chewy side.. I wasn't bothered by it too much as I'd have to leave it in an oven warmer at work. Trying to keep food warm, in doing so, I knew there'd be only two possible outcomes, melting tender or either tough & dry. So, the dish of meat and rice sat in the warmer for almost an hour hour and a half. The downhill slope.... Set the "meat " on the veggies and began to eat. Meat after meat, I kept experiencing the same exact texture. It was the same exact rubbery chew, I initially tasted. Each and every piece was the same exact flavor. There was no peak, there was no pitfall. If you cook or grill, you know this is a red flag. Normally, consistency would be a good thing, a Master craftsman type experience, but this was NOT it. As go on, I get the sinking feeling, this can't be real meat. I lock in, the deeper I dig, each piece looks the same, broken apart the same, tastes the same, just various shapes. They can call me crazy for this one - I'll stand by it. Something is not right here. I'm not even going to throw it away. I'm going to study it for the next few days and post an updated review. I hope I'm wrong but as of right now, I'll never revisit this place. Too freaky of an experience. We
