This is an example of don't judge a book by its cover. An unassuming location and exterior, once we entered, we were greeted by friendly staff. We also got miso soup and edamame. Everything was delicious and the meal is very satisfying well also being relatively affordable. I wanted to give a special shout out to Kat who ran our food out, was very kind and answered all of our questions. I would definitely come back here and recommend that y'all give it a try!

It is not the biggest restaurant, and is popular, so I would recommend being prepared to wait during "popular busy time" but it is so worth the wait. So I also recommend waiting. The staff is always pretty friendly and accommodating. I shared an app, a roll and an order of salmon sashimi with a friend on both visits. The food is always fresh, and delicious! I never feel like I am being overcharged for what I get either. Going to eat for sushi can feel like that sometimes. The quality of the food is great and everything is always aesthetically pleasing as well. I had their avocado bomb on my last visit and I was delightfully surprised with it. I like avocado in most cases, but sometimes, it can be a lot at one. I thought this was going to be like that when I saw it, but I was wrong. I look forward to getting one of these on my next visit! On my last visit my friend and I saved room for a dessert, one that we saw rotating on their screens that they have in the restaurant showcasing some of the menu items. It was a take on a bananas foster. It looked delicious but alas, we'll see if we can manage to get it next time. Note to self, have dessert first on next visit?

The final price (paying with cash) was $102.32 before the tip, which seems very fair given the size of the portions and the quality. The fish was not the very highest quality, but it was very good. The wasabi was some of (if not) the best that I've ever had. The soy and eel sauces were made in-house, and were excellent. Presumably, the rest of the sauces were house-made as well. Leo was a very good and friendly server. The atmosphere was very relaxed but could be suitable for something fancier. The one thing that hurts is the price; as fair as it is, I do wish that it were a smidgen less.

When we arrived, the restaurant was very full, and we waited about 15 minutes for a table. Once…read moreseated, our table already had menus and water, so we began looking over the sushi options. The menu did not indicate any gluten-free items, so I planned to ask the server about modifications due to mine and my daughter's gluten allergy. We waited about 14 minutes and no one came to our table. My husband eventually flagged down a server. I explained that me and my daughter have a gluten allergy and asked what sushi rolls could be made gluten-free. He told us that almost anything could be modified, and that we just needed to let them know. I also asked about the seaweed salad, and he said it was gluten-free, it just had sesame seed oil. He then walked away. When we were ready to order, we had to flag down a different server. I again explained that both my daughter and I have a gluten allergy. She seemed knowledgeable and clearly explained what could and could not be modified. When I double-checked about the seaweed salad, she informed us that it was not gluten-free which directly contradicted what we were first told. We ordered the Chameleon Roll without crab mix (since it is not gluten-free) and two Alaskan rolls with no fish eggs, or sauce on top for the same reason. When our food arrived after nearly 46 minutes the presentation was nice, however I immediately noticed they had put the gluten-free items on the same boat as the non-gluten-free items with sauce dripping from the non-gluten-free items on both sides. Then as soon as I picked up a piece of the Chameleon Roll, I immediately noticed crab mix inside. Which we were told was not gluten free. I flagged the server down and pointed it out. She seemed unsure how to respond and went to get someone else. I explained the problem to the new waitress and she asked us to remove the Chameleon Roll from the boat so they could remake it without crab mix. The remake took another 15-20 minutes. By this point, we had been about an hour and a half. We were extremely disappointed, especially after carefully discussing gluten-free modifications multiple times. At that point, I no longer felt comfortable eating the food, so when the remade rolls arrived, I asked for everything to be boxed up. When we received the check, a 20% gratuity had been automatically added, although this was never mentioned on the menu. Overall, the entire evening was disappointing. We were really looking forward to trying this restaurant, but unfortunately, due to the service issues and lack of consistency regarding gluten-free accommodations, we will not be returning.

We usually show up around 5, and we never have to wait to be seated. Today, we decided on Hibachi. Our waiter saw to our drink order, and he brought us out some soup. The chef we had today was okay with the show, but what he cooked tasted great. The place is always clean, there's a nice coy pond separating the sushi room and the hibachi room. The bathrooms have always been clean, too. Next time we will be back for happy hour sushi.

I have to say the young man helping me out felt bad and threw in an extra key lime pie. The place had many tables occupied but it was comfy atmosphere. Received white rice but ordered fried.

Yoshi Mame left me with a philosphical question. Is mediocre food better if you can eat as much as…read moreyou want. I did my research on that here. For 30.00 you can order whatever you want from the large sushi menu. You have to eat it all and you have a two hour time limit. It kind of reminded me of Meat Beard the food challenge Tuber who eats gigantic food challenges except that you don't get a free meal if you eat everything. It's okay sushi. I find that sushi here in ABQ tends to be the sweet sauce kind and that's no exception here. I had a few nigiris a few special rolls and an eel hand roll. I liked the eel roll except I thought I'd left cream cheese on sushi back in Seattle where I used to live. I've given up on super fresh fish here in ABQ, mainly because I get that we are in the desert so any sushi is welcome. But the nigiris were all fresh tasting with bouncy flesh. The surf clams was the best of those. The place is a little tatty with a half assed attempt at paper flower decorations on a few walls. It's clean but looks old and worn. The staff were nice and friendly and didn't make you work hard to re-order. So the answer to my question is Yes, being able to eat a lot of mediocre food for free is a nice treat. This is better than a lot of the other sushi joints in town and more betterer because you can eat a ton if you want

The system is set up pretty easy to understand, I think it was by the amount of pieces on the plate. Overall the sushi options on the conveyor belt were okay, a lot of them had a similar flavor profile. I also ordered a salmon nigiri, but was gravely disappointed. The salmon didn't look that great.
