Spontaneous omakase double date never fails this spot specifically had availability so we just went with it. man was it good! the service is incredibly kind and we just had ourselves a time. my favorites were the double fatty tuna with caviar and une, the fatty tuna with a crunchy tomato on top, and the salmon but really everything was a star our server was incredibly friendly and sociable he had so much in common with us def recommend and will be back

If I was ranking solely based on the food, I'd give it five stars because the omakase and the quality of food was really good!! But two comments: 1) the service was fine. I made a reservation a week ahead via resy but when we got there, they didn't have the space for us so we ended up waiting 20 minutes after our reservation slot before we got seated. 2) the host and the chef was quietly bickering. It was kinda funny but def awkward.

I'm not too sure why this place has high reviews. We were the only diners at 5pm, which was kind of nice, but I do not feel like we got what we paid for. We were starving so we opted for the 17-course which came with 3 appetizers, nigiri, a handroll, and dessert. The quality of the fish was not the best I had in NYC (some were too fishy), and all the pieces of nigiri were not only pretty small, but also covered wayyy too many toppings to mask the underlying flavor of the fish. Some toppings did not complement the fish at all either. I wish they focused more on sourcing the freshest fish than having extra, over the top toppings. Some pieces I did enjoy though were: the salmon appetizer, salmon nigiri with seared tomato (pretty unique, never had a piece like this before), and the golden eye snapper. The dessert was also really delicious -- homemade tofu pudding! Tasted a bit like creme brulee but less sweet and a richer texture. Some pieces I was disappointed by was the toro handroll -- it was rather hard to eat; the nori used was not very fresh and neither was the minced tuna. The otoro was also just decorated in wayyy too many toppings.

Had an absolutely lovely omakase experience here. Every bite was an incredible dive in Japanese fine dining. The sushi was fresh and innovative. It ranged from melt in your mouth goodness to refreshing and airy. The sake was top knotch and the service excellent. Really great intimate time. Would come again. Highly recommend!

The service was absolutely terrible. The server had a cold attitude with no smile, yet was very friendly and smiling at the neighboring table. We received zero service--they even helped the other table hang their coats but completely ignored us. No refill water and only once refill the wine, we also had to call for the bill ourselves. I have never experienced such awful service! Food was so so too.

Omakase lunch was very very amazing. I think they only serve omakase here and the restaurant space isn't very large. Everyone sits at the sushi bar. It's quiet and peaceful. The service was very attentive and friendly. The private setting feels intimate and perfect for a date night!

Most interesting omakase I've had! Some standouts--the king salmon and roasted tomato nigiri, the toast with uni and tuna, the tuna(?) nigiri with mushrooms and shaved truffle. I was watching the chef prepare our courses and everytime I thought he was done, he would add something surprising to it! It was so fun to not know what was coming next as this place has their own take on traditional sushi. I do think some of it is a little unnecessary (caviar and gold flakes is a bit much) but overall it was delicious and a great evening. Would love to come again.

I love trying out different omakase spots. This one had to be one of the best ones I've had thus far. The fish was fresh and the quality was top tier. The service and chef's were great. Would love to come back!

A standout. Otoro with Uni, Caviar and gold flake.

Every course was superb. The Lin Special (salmon/charred tomato) was interesting and a real standout. Go for it.

My best omakase experience to date, and such a pleasant surprise! My boyfriend took me here for my birthday and we opted for the $85 12 course meal (the 17 course is $125 and adds two appetizers, two nigiri and a dessert). At 2:30pm on a Sunday, we were one of two parties in the restaurant. Sushi Lin does not skimp out on the fish. Each piece was plentiful, beautifully cut, and prepared with meticulous attention to detail. Stand out pieces were the king salmon with charred onion and tomato, hotate, and the chutoro with uni and charred onion stack on toast. Me and my boyfriend's favorite omakase is a michelin star restaurant in San Francisco, but we both agreed that the quality of the fish and the flavor profiles of Sushi Lin are our new favorite :) In terms of service, the waiter and chefs are soft spoken and kind. For my birthday, they dimmed the lights, played In da club by 50 cent and brought out a candle with two pieces of mochi ice cream! What a memorable birthday moment. Compared to shiki & shinn east, the interior was spacious with warm, modern decor. My only critique would be the abnormally low levels of the chairs. I'm seriously wondering why I haven't heard of this spot before, but it definitely deserves so much more love! I will be back!

Sushi en fuego!!! We saw Chris Redd on tv and he said he love Sushi Lin and voila... he was not wrong. We enjoyed the 12 course and added a couple pieces and left super happy and full. Loved the space, the service and the confusingly great price point for the quality of ingredients and the fish. Chef Jason served up some tasty beauties. It has been a while since we've had such a wonderful omakase experience. Thank you Sushi Lin and thanks Chris Redd for being hilarious and loving great sushi.

Really enjoyed my experience here, good value, everything was fresh and the space is intimate. I noticed that the bites got more and more rich near the end.

Nice little sushi place tucked away in the outskirts of soho. We ordered the 17 piece Omakase and it was $125 but I know they also have a 12 piece for $85 option as well. We came to celebrate a birthday and the chef was kind enough to serve us a free desert. Service and professionalism was top notch.

The atmosphere here was a bit more lively and crowded compared to the more relaxed vibe of the UWS spot. I enjoyed my meal even more this time around. I started with the beet salad, which was delicious and offered great value given the generous portion size. it featured sliced beets, arugula, goat cheese, and walnuts. I also had my eye on the hijiki soybean salad--which is a bit smaller and reportedly homemade--so I may try that next time, along with the warm mushroom salad which looked very tasty. The edamame was standard but served as a nice starter. For my main rolls, I chose the salmon avocado and the yellowtail scallion. Both were very fresh and definitely worth ordering again. The salmon avocado roll had a nice touch of sesame seeds on the rice, while the yellowtail scallion was prepared with the seaweed on the outside. My boyfriend's sushi entree looked excellent, so I am considering that or the sushi-sashimi combo for my next visit. The entrees provide a substantial amount of food, and I especially appreciate that they allow you to choose which roll comes with your meal.

I love it here! Will definitely keep coming back, just for their (excellent) service alone. Highly recommend.

They share a takeout menu and it's super easy to order--text what you want to the phone number on the website and pickup in ~20 minutes :). You pay on a handheld and they don't ask for tip for takeout. I love this process and truly wish more sushi restaurants in LA adopt the takeout box. The only one I know of is hefty but also $200 each lol, making Sanyuu's $69 omakase and $78 Everything don, not to mention the $30 giant salmon nigiri set, A STEAL! I enjoyed most of the pieces but I will say I don't like their amaebi or uni at all. I'm not sure what kind of uni is used here but it's the type with a very strong mineral flavor & aftertaste that I don't find enjoyable. We're spoiled by easy access to live spot prawns everywhere and fresh SB uni. Despite this, I wouldn't hesitate to come back if I lived in the city.

The slices aren't thin, delicate, and melt-in-your-mouth as one usually gets in a sit down; they are extra thick, and I had to really bite down on some of the pieces. The rice was nicely seasoned and was cooked well + portions are also big to match those thiccccc salmon slices. To be honest, I was getting a little nauseated after 5 pieces, haha~ They were definitely delicious but I'd probably just eat 3 or 4 pieces and share with a friend! It was easy to text the number on the website and coordinate a pickup time, and the staff was friendly when I arrived. The restaurant is a little hard to find as the windows are blinded and the sign is a piece of paper on the door.

The creamy kimchi udon was ok. It didn't feel like one dish, but tasted good. The una don was great. Good sauce and blend of supporting veggies to enhance the taste. Service was super quick. Interior was cramped and loud. Really fitting as many tables as they can in the space. I saw others mentioning to make reservations. I went without one and got lucky. There was a table opening 30 minutes out. Would recommend having one, but you can definitely try walking in. First come first serve basis Overall, solid spot for great tasting food. Great for smaller parties of 2, but expect it to be tight with spacing
