In my books, this place was just OK. It should be noted that this was my first time having sushi in…read moreOttawa, and this place is supposed to be the best sushi place here. I've had sushi plenty in Vancouver and Toronto, and this place was disappointing in comparison (even to Toronto sushi). I think AYCE sushi is more popular in Ottawa. This is one of the few places that do a la carte. I found the prices to be a bit expensive for what you get. 3 of us shared a sushi and sashimi party tray. It came to around $30 a person, and was quoted on the menu to be for about 3-4 people. I would say it's barely enough for 3 very small people, let alone 4. It did not come with miso soup or salad. The quality of the sushi was nothing to be amazed about. Although it was probably a bit better than AYCE, I think for the prices, I'd expect better quality sushi. If I had to, I'd choose AYCE sushi over this in Ottawa. Also, in terms of authenticity, I think this place is Chinese owned. It is a small establishment, so if you want to be sure you get a table, I'd recommend reservations. There is street parking available on Somerset. I likely won't be back, and will definitely try my hardest to persuade my friends to go elsewhere if they want to come back.

Service was good and we booked a table before their big party reservations comes in about an hour later. Dining hall was clean and tidy without feeling crowded. I would go back again.

It was seasoned with a sesame oil and seeds. It was a refreshing change up. We shared some calamari which was super good too. Then we shared a salmon sushi pizza but I felt I could taste the oil It was fried in, but the salmon and avocado was amazing!! Loved how It was seasoned!!! The rolls were super good too. The salmon roll was light on salmon but It was good. The house special was so good. Lots of flavor!!! I would try It again for the first time based on this visit. But I think I still enjoy another sushi spot better in the area.

It is a Japanese restaurant with a large selection of appetizers and mains, many are seafood bites and sushi rolls. I was here for lunch and they do have lunch specials that are similar to regular Japanese restaurants'. I ordered the braised pork belly ramen. It was ok. It could have used more flavour. It was a little bland. The noodles were nice. The pork belly was fresh but also could have used a little more taste. The ramen were also accompanied by sliced shiitake mushrooms, baby bok choi and asparagus. I would go back and try something sushi like when I am not pregnant.

And the food came out in like ten minutes even though she said It could be 20. Super nice service. They are still serving with barriers and hand sanitizer. There's no photos inside. Their sushi is delicious, especially for takeout sushi. I decided to get a platter for dinner for my husband and I. I got their Maki Platter A, which is 36 pieces for $47.95. You get 8 pieces of California, 8 pieces of Spicy Salmon, 10 pieces of Dynamite and 10 pieces of Orange Dragon. UberEats was having a special where if you spend $40 or more you save $11. So I ordered through UberEats for pick up and saved $11 :) Note that with this deal you pay taxes on the regular price and then get $11 off the post-tax total. It took about 25 minutes and pick up was quick. Staff were nice. The rolls were delicious. I loved that the rolls were mostly filling with very little rice. I had requested no sesame seeds and that was no problem at all. The California rolls had cucumber and surimi crab and was topped with masago. The Spicy Salmon rolls had raw salmon mixed with spicy mayo and was topped with tempura bits. The Dynamite rolls had shrimp tempura, avocado, cucumbers, and surimi crab and was topped with masago. The Orange Dragon rolls were Dynamite rolls with the additional topping of sliced raw salmon and sliced avocado. While everything was tasty, I did feel that this platter could have used more variety. The Dynamite and Orange Dragon rolls were too similar. Nonetheless, my husband and I enjoyed the platter. I feel it's a good size for dinner for 2 people. Glad to have discovered this sushi takeout joint near my current work place. It's so convenient to pick up a platter for dinner. Street parking or paid parking in the various nearby lots only.

I didn't even know they existed until they popped up on my UberEats feed. I was looking to grab something for dinner, they are right by my current work location and I'm always up for trying out new places, so I went for it. Their UberEats page was a bit wonky only listing nigiri. So I picked out some nigiri and then got a pop up that said people who ordered nigiri also ordered the Thai chicken stir-fry. The Thai chicken stir-fry wasn't an option I could have originally chosen, but I could add it from the pop up, so I did. I got the smoked salmon nigiri ($5.50 for 2 pieces) and the Thai chicken stir-fry ($18). I was a bit shocked that as soon as I submitted my order, it said my order was ready for pickup, lol. I walked over, which took maybe 10 minutes and they were almost ready. Looks like someone jumped the gun in hitting order ready, but hey, they are new, and I didn't have to wait long at all. I was pleasantly surprised when I got home to discover I received a free miso soup with my order. Yay! The miso soup had chunks of soft tofu and seaweed in it. As well as green onions. The broth was flavourful and not too salty. The Thai chicken stir-fry did not look too appetizing, but let me tell you, it was delicious! It had lots of pieces of tender chicken, yellow bell peppers, onions and basil leaves. The sauce was spicy and bursting with flavour. I loved it. I would totally get this again. The smoked salmon nigiri was also delicious. And the presentation of this one was great. I loved the thin spiral carrots that came with it. It also came with wasabi, pickled ginger and soy sauce. I loved that all the cutlery was compostable Staff were courteous and friendly. They were busy but efficient. There were 3 food couriers picking up food while I was there. And they had other bags ready for pick up. The inside of the restaurant is bright, clean and pretty. They have a painted piano there too, from the Das Lokal days. Prices are pretty reasonable. I discovered that the Thai chicken stir-fry is $15 directly from the restaurant. I'll be buying directly from them next time. I'm looking forward to trying out more items from this restaurant, like the General Tao Chicken and some sushi platters. Glad they opened up near my work. Street parking only, but easier to find since they are a bit north of the main Byward Market area. There's also paid parking lots around. Oh, their UberEats listing has since been fixed and all their menu items are showing up now ;)

As a vegetarian I was ecstatic that standard rolls (avocado, yam, pickled radish) was all priced under 6$ because we all HATE overpriced veggies. Ambiance - comfortable, smaller space.
