We arrived early 11:30am for a noon lunch but no problems. We were asked if we would like the chefs to start our lunch early. It was windy and miserable outside so I opted for the warmed sake. It was fine but we did try some nicer sake at the end of the meal. Our plates came out in a timely manner. I think due to the waitress paying attention to how quickly we were eating. The restaurant was filled by noon and when a large group arrived at the door they had to make a decision to find somewhere else to eat. All of our food was great and we even opted to pay for a second plate. The bento boxes and other lunch time meals looked good too.I also liked the cocktail with lychee. There are quite a few eating places within a short walk of this place and they were also very busy.

Umaya happens to be around the corner from a church I was visiting in sydney and I came here frequently. I had the karage don and the katsu don bowls and they were both awesome! Super solid karage, fresh, crunchy and tender and the sauces and kewpie mayo they use is great. The katsu don bowl was also exactly as i expected it. I may not be happy about the price if i were paying AUD but paying USD it was moreeee than fair. The quality was very consistent and the service was great. Definitely a go to place if you're ever in the outskirts of sydney australia!

There really isn't much going on in the Western Sydney Japanese scene. Found this place online…read moreafter doing a search for ramen places in Parramatta. I was a bit nervous on the drive there and went in with low expectations. The restaurant is very small and had elements of a typical Japanese restaurant set up. I ordered the katsu chicken ramen an shared the magma roll. The katsu chicken wasn't your normal golden brown coloured exterior but nevertheless tasted really good. I thoroughly enjoyed the ramen after I heaped on some chilli flakes. This isn't readily available on the table so don't forget to ask if you're a fan. The soup was pretty delicious and I almost drank my bowl dry. The magma roll was a bit disappointing though. Not as hot as I expected. Having salmon and canned tuna pieces together probably isn't the best idea either. The tuna definitely out ways the salmon even though it's the salmon you really want to task. Overall a great place for a ramen fix if you are ever in western sydney.

They're many Japanese restaurant contenders in my area but this tiny place remains me of alot of gems we visited in Japan. So if they're busy you might find it hard to get seating, but takeaway option still available. The menu is basic but covers the whole range: sushi, sashimi, ramens, udons, tempuras, bentos, entrees etc. I go here so often (eat in or takeaway) because everytime I order it's like ordering for the first time. the consistency doesn't drop just because you're a regular, which I've had with many other restaurants before. The quality is awesome, especially for such a small restaurant. I've been visiting this place since it first opened and been a loyal fan since. FYI they do open on Sundays now so don't be deterred!

I went there for lunch this week and I found it to be the most wonderful place. The staff are very friendly, especially the two girls serving the food. The owner was there and he actually makes the sushi - dressed in his business shirt and little hat he looked really cute. He also impressed us by clearing tables - not many owners would do that when they have staff to do it. The food is sublime: if you try nothing else, try the soft shelled crab roll (10 pieces). The way it is presented is an absolute work of art. They serve both hot and cold meals, udon soup, noodles as well as a lot of salads - great with the hot weather. West Ryde is not exactly a hot spot for restaurants but maybe Tatsuya will change that.

It is in a small space and is always packed. If you don't book a table beforehand during busy times, expect to eat at the sushi bar as that will be the only available space they have. The sushi is fresh and there are a lot of varieties in terms of their sushi rolls, which are humongous! They were happy to oblige our request to only have grilled salmon and grilled scallop when we ordered their grilled sushi set. The rice meals are delicious and good value for money, the servings are plentiful. My favourites are the chicken teriyaki, the chicken is swimming in their sweet teriyaki sauce and cooked tenderly, and the cheese katsu which is a delight for someone who loves cheese as much as I do. You can BYO but they will charge a corkage fee for each wine glass. They opened a second branch in Artarmon, which can only mean business is good. How can it not be if you serve consistently good food at decent prices?

Which is basically all you can order and eat from the entire menu for $48.80 Monday to Thursday and $52.80 Friday to Sunday; which is the deluxe option. There is also the standard option that doesn't get you everything from the menu but most things, Monday to Thursday that will cost you $38.80 and from Friday to Sunday it costs you $43.80. The all you can eat buffet goes for 2 hours, so you can order and eat continuously for 2 hours before they pull the plug. They always let you know when you have last orders as well to ensure no mix up. You get plates and plates of everything you ordered and get to cook it yourself on the hot stoves on the table. Please be aware that if you are anything like our guys, they tend to smoke the place out and last time this caused the fire alarms to go off and the firemen to turn up. Not that I was complaining about the perving on the firey's but you get the drift! There is also a set menu you can order from if you prefer not to do the all you can eat option. The staff are lovely and attentive and even after we accidentally set off the fire alarm they always welcome us back with quiet giggles. It can get rather loud at certain points in the evening, however it's well worth it for the food.

Love the Bibimbap and the sauce. We were stuffed. Perhaps entree and 4 dishes of bbq were just a tad a bit too much for a family of three. We just don't like the 1,5% surcharge on credit card. Just prepare to bring your debit card or cash if you don't like the extra charge..
