We each chose a different set. My Sashimi don and mini udon set was amazing. A generous serving of sashimi (3 types of fish + prawn + squid +omlette) on rice with a steaming bowl of delicate vegetable udon, plus miso, plus salad, plus wakame and daikon pickles!! A massive lunch for only $17. The ginger pork set was similarly impressive, as was the sushi set and teriyaki chicken set. The special of the day is $13.90 and includes a featured lunch set with free wine/tea or soft drink. Everything else on the lunch menu is still between $15 and $20. Amazing dining for the price. I can't wait to go back and try the other dishes on offer!

This was the most outstanding Omakase experience I have ever had ( and I have been to Japan many…read moretimes). Chef Morita pays extreme attention to detail in sourcing the right product, presenting each course with exacting balance and appearance, while maintaining traditional methods. Even the sushi rice used comes from a rice 'sommelier' in Japan sourcing a custom product. The balance between fish, rice and sauce is absolute perfection. There are no shortcuts taken here - I hope every customer can appreciate how much thought and effort go into making this top notch authentic Japanese dining experience.

There are a few Japanese/Korean places in Hornsby but by all accounts Mori is the most authentically Japanese. The food is good. Really good. And unlike a lot of Japanese places the portions aren't tiny. You can get a good meal here at a reasonable price. The place itself is pretty tiny and always crowded. Seriously, the place is small. Don't go with a large group, you will not fit. Tiny as it is, Its usually better to try for a table rather than go for take away. Although they do take away, a lot of japanese food doesn't take kindly to sitting in a plastic container. It really should be eaten absolutely fresh. Some of the dishes are more durable and will stand up to the trip home so if you chose wisely, you can still get a good dinner even if the eat in is packed.

Which is basically all you can order and eat from the entire menu for $48.80 Monday to Thursday and $52.80 Friday to Sunday; which is the deluxe option. There is also the standard option that doesn't get you everything from the menu but most things, Monday to Thursday that will cost you $38.80 and from Friday to Sunday it costs you $43.80. The all you can eat buffet goes for 2 hours, so you can order and eat continuously for 2 hours before they pull the plug. They always let you know when you have last orders as well to ensure no mix up. You get plates and plates of everything you ordered and get to cook it yourself on the hot stoves on the table. Please be aware that if you are anything like our guys, they tend to smoke the place out and last time this caused the fire alarms to go off and the firemen to turn up. Not that I was complaining about the perving on the firey's but you get the drift! There is also a set menu you can order from if you prefer not to do the all you can eat option. The staff are lovely and attentive and even after we accidentally set off the fire alarm they always welcome us back with quiet giggles. It can get rather loud at certain points in the evening, however it's well worth it for the food.
