The mixed reviews tell the story. The restaurant is small but attractively decorated. Our food (bento boxes and Lion King roll) were good, and the lunch prices were very reasonable for the area and portion sizes. The lunch menu is small but with enough variety, and the much larger regular menu includes lunch prices. However, they need to clean up their act a little, both figuratively and literally. I'm pretty sure the chalkboard sign in front showed closing times earlier than on their own website. The website online ordering page says the menus aren't available, though scrolling down did reveal them. On the literal side, the bathroom needs attention, as other reviewers have said. I wouldn't have quite called it dirty and didn't hesitate to use it, but it was definitely shabby. The tile floor was discolored around the edges, the sink could have used a deep clean, and the soap dispenser was empty--a bottle of hand soap was propped up on a rail. Overall, it's a good effort and I probably would eat there again, though I'd examine my food based on some of the negative reviews--food safety isn't something I want to mess around with, and especially not for sushi. But inattention to some details makes me cautious about possible inattention to others. Make your own decision. read more

Pretty good value! The husband and I were watching a movie at the theater nearby, and we stopped by Sushi Fighter for takeout dinner. I was craving sashimi for some reason and that's usually a for here kind of dish, but the cravings were so strong that I ordered their deluxe sashimi to go. It was $34 for over 20 pieces of selected variety of fishes. It was a great amount of sashimi for the price, but not much of it really stood out, but the value and the cut was rather generous! The sashimi deluxe 3 pieces of salmon, 3 pieces yellowtail, 3 pieces red colored tuna, 3 pieces white fish, 3 pieces albacore (?), 3 pieces of something else (sorry, had no idea what it was called), and several pieces of a fatty fish. The box was heavy for sashimi and I was surprised by how thick the cuts were. Yum!! It was all rather standard, don't expect premium quality at this price. We also got a dinner bento box. We chose the chicken katsu and beef teriyaki. It came with veggies, rice, sauce, and miso soup. The beef teriyaki was delicious as they practically used steak for that. My to-do box of joy included bluefin tuna (maguro), mackerel (saba), albacore tuna (shira maguro), and yellowtail (hamachi). Each was flavorful, had character and snap. We were looking for an AYCE sushi spot and found this place on the weekday. Monday-Thursday I think it's available as an option, weekends is not AYCE. The rolls were great, there was good variety on the menu. They were made to order so it's all fresh and you can taste it. Staff was very friendly and attentive, we had two toddlers eating with us and they were very helpful in our extra needs. They had the Monday night football game playing which I give a plus for. Sushi Fighter has never been great, but the quality of their food seems to have really hit rock bottom. We ordered Chicken Teriyaki and Spicy Chicken dinners last night, and both were just plain bad. The teriyaki is strips of breast meat that are literally a quarter inch thick, and may actually be pre-grilled from a food delivery service. They apply a very thin coat of teriyaki sauce and call it good. It's almost inedible. The Spicy Chicken is dry and dominated by sriracha. Sushi is OK, but not great. It really pains me to write this review, but I do it hopes not that it will drive customers away from the restaurant, but that the management will read this and decide that they need to put more effort into their offerings. But, as things are, it's probably better to drive down the hill and find a better place. read more
