Excellent sushi
G T.

The Sushi was extremely fresh and the service was pleasant. This place is definitely a hidden Jem.

This is Dynamite Roll.

I have been eating in or taking out from Sushi Boss for more than 3 years. But recently the quality of their rolls have been consistently disappointing. The rolls always fall apart. The ingredients are different from the menu. Sometimes I thought maybe they were having a busy night. But when I walked into the restaurant, there was nobody. I am not going back anymore. You can get better sushi from grocery stores.

This place is absolutely amazing! You must try it out. The stuff is extremely friendly and the food is exceptionally fresh. You cannot go wrong with this place

Delicious and affordable! I try and stop by when ever I'm close by. Very fresh and great selection. They also give you a salad to start and it is perfect! If you love sushi then I would highly recommend checking this place out. Yum yum!

Gyoza and Salad Appetizer (on the house)

"I like that I can fit them in my mouth. Everything is in bite size pieces. Put that in your review." I went to Sushi Boss tonight with two friends. The decision was largely based on the glowing reviews on Yelp, Urbanspoon, and Google. The photos and menu looked appealing and reasonably priced for this style of cuisine. We arrived there around 7PM and it was relatively empty. Though all the tables seemed for two patrons, the waitress quickly pushed the tables together. I do not know if this would have been a problem if it was busier, but it worked out this time. The waitress was pleasant and the service was quick. As soon as we had placed our order, she came back with a free dish that include salad, fresh fruit, and gyoza. The appetizers that we had ordered, veggie gyoza and ebi sunomono, arrived quickly after. The veggie gyoza was a great deal for $3.50 as it was tasty and relatively sizable. The ebi sunomono was light and fresh tasting. Though I generally prefer the dish to be a little more tart, this one was still good and the addition of strawberries was an interesting touch. The only complaint that I had was that the prawns were a little too rubbery. One of my companions ordered the salmon mango roll. This item turned out to be the highlight of the meal. While mango and salmon sounded like a strange combination, the flavours were perfect. This would be the item that my friend would return for, without question. He also ordered the spicy combo which included a spicy dynamite roll, spicy tuna roll, and spicy tuna sashimi. The spicy dynamite roll was an enlightening experience. The tempura batter was notably good and even though the roll was just a generic roll with the spicy sauce on top, it was well worth it. The spicy tuna roll was also very good. The spicy tuna sashimi left something to be desired though. While my companion had a decent outlook on it, I found that the fish was much too cold. It was almost as though it had recently been frozen and had not thawed properly. Though the spicy sauce was delectable, the temperature was enough to put me off. My other companion had a spicy tuna roll and a smoked salmon roll. The former was, as noted, very good. The smoked salmon roll was pretty average though. We agreed that it was the least tasty roll that we ordered. It was not exactly bad, but it was not the same quality as the other dishes. Further, there was too much rice on it. Finally, I ordered the salmon K roll which was a spicy salmon roll with spicy salmon on top. It was not as spicy as I anticipated it would be, but it was nonetheless incredible. It had a sweet element which made for an interesting balance with the spicy sauce. I would order this again. Bottom line, this place provides quick and efficient service. The food is well priced and very tasty. The decor is clean and the background music was pleasant. I would recommend this to Coquitlam residents. It is not the kind of restaurant you go out of your way to visit, but it is perfect if you are local.

The place is small but comfy. Price is a little expensive compare to other better sushi places. Won't go there again

This place is ran by Korean and yes they also serve Korean food as well. They have a screen that you can place your order or even request your server to come over. The food was delicious and prices are very reasonable. The restaurant has free parking and the restaurant itself is quite big. The seating are comfy. The decor was good. The restaurant is spacious and cozy. For each table there is a tablet for ordering. I ordered a Soy Chicken Karaage Donburi as it looked delicious on the menu pics. The rice bowl came with miso soup. The donburi looked good with sufficient portion for a strong man. It was tasty, however as I kept eating the soy chicken karaage got more and more salty. Finally I couldn't have anymore. I finished the rice and it was well cooked. I drank two cups of tea after having the donburi. I didn't try other dishes, perhaps I will give them a try when I come here next time. I do hope the chef could make it less salty. Apart from that, service was fine and the ambient was quiet and tidy.

I had decided what to order while waiting around - aburi sushi combo and miso soup. Tea was dropped off right away. Food arrived after a short wait. Aburi sushi was made well and was nicely seared. An absolute A+ to Chef Keith and Chika for their mastery of perfecting a great omakase experience in the tricities. They are reservations only (and for a good reason!) and this can be done on their new online portal!! by controlling the number of seatings, Chef K and Chika are able to interact and share their craft with patrons in an intimate and personal way. There is no hustle and bustle or fakeness that would otherwise follow some restaurant vibes. There is purely passion for fish, customer service and, of course, metal music! I urge you to dine at the chefs bar and let Chef K tell you his extensive and wonderful background from catering some A list bands, to being on tour, and changing restaurant models all while being fed an amazing feast. The fish is sourced from Japan and screams quality and flavour. He knows exactly what he's doing with all the fish profiles and pairing them with a variety of notes like shiso, yuzu and ginger. Between the 14 unbelievably mouth watering and satisfying dishes, Chef K and Chika's kindness shared the spotlight easily. Humble beginnings have led to an extraordinary and legendary journey for SKK. Some of the special highlights were the blue fin tuna, South American jumbo prawn, Spanish mackerel and the scallops. I cannot wait to bring my omakase/metal loving friends and family here to join in on the greatness because sharing truly is caring and this gem is too awesome to keep to myself!
