Sushi Axiom has a sushi bar that we love to sit at while we have a sushi appetizer and a drink. Then we like to eat at one of their cooking tables. (or you can sit in a regular table or booth). The restaurant was very clean & the service was prompt. I had beef filet and scallops and my husband had shrimp. You get a lot of vegetables that are delicious! Plus your main course and fried (or white) rice and noodles (I never have room for noodles). I get so much food, I have enough for two meals the next day. The ambience is low lights and is romantic. We came here for a birthday celebration and it did not disappoint. I had the flat noodles. As a group we had crab puff appetizers. I was able to try everyone's food and it was excellent. My dinner was probably the best flat noodle entree I have had in years. The sushi roll's were great as well. They have booth's and tables. Tables have nice cushy chairs. Our server was excellent too. First time here, but it's definitely not the last! When we walked in, we were greeted immediately and seated. The restaurant has an intimate atmosphere and a nice ambiance. Our waitress came to take our drink order and helped me pick the best drink for me based on what I was looking for, and the drink did not disappoint. I got the Texican it was a mix between a martini and margarita. It was so tasty but still had a nice amount of alcohol. We got two appetizers, beef dumplings and tempura avocado, and crab. The dumplings came out hot and fresh. It took a little longer to get the other appetizer because it came from the sushi bar, but it was well worth the wait! I got two sushi rolls for my entree, and my husband got the seasme chicken and beef and chicken fried rice. Our portions were generous, and all of the food was good. The food just isn't worth it. Bland, oily, heavily battered. I mean I drove 2 hours because I heard such good things and I was very disappointed. Vegetables were rock hard but the batter wasn't cooked all the way. My waitress was great, absolutely amazing person! I would recommend her all the way around. The food here was amazing like usual!!! Seriously, like nothing wrong with the food at all. Our server though, she seemed to have better days. We were treated so poorly - that in all of my years of working in the food service industry myself, I would have been fired on the spot if I spoke to customers this way. From the beginning she had an attitude with us. We are spicy mayo lovers so we asked for extra sides of it and that seemed to just ruin her day. Then, our table had no silverware on it just chopsticks. Not an issue at all, a simple fix and an ask. We were a party of 7 and she brought back at least 13 forks and made rude marks saying "Is this enough!?" We continued on with our dinner and tried not to bother her or have to call her over as she did seem like she was just "done". Once we were finished and needed the checks, she proceeded to only bring one total bill for multiple different families. Not an issue again at all, we just needed them split up and we were all sitting next to the person who we were paying with. So splitting up the check seemed fairly easy for who had what, and who was paying for it. Instead of offering to adjust the check, and I quote, she said "Can y'all just figure it out amongst yourselves?" And looked at us like we were stupid. No, we cannot figure it out amongst ourselves because we all live in three separate cities and do not all have Venmo, cash app, or Zelle. She told us she couldn't even split up the check if she wanted to which definitely confused us because we have done so before at this restaurant. After seeing our shock, she proceeded to split it up for us, but got it all wrong and did not care to change it again. Again, we were not mad at this point because the food service industry is HARD and people can be BRUTAL, so we understand and had patience. She dropped off wrong checks, leaving us to pay for each others food and things we did not have. No goodbye have a great night, she couldn't wait to leave. Our party came in at 8 and was finished around 9 when they closed but it took an extra twenty minutes to get the checks sorted and we felt bad as we knew they were closing and the workers were waiting to go home. We LOVE sushi axiom! We are regular customers of the west 7th location. But, since we have recently moved closer to the Burleson area we figured we would go try out that location. It's safe to say we will stick with the Fort Worth side of town instead of Burleson. The food is phenomenal at both locations (get the vegetable fried rice you won't regret it), and this was just the first server we've encountered that just gave us a horrible experience. We never got her name, she was just an older white woman with dark hair. We even told her we were going to leave her a nice tip because we felt bad about having her get us all a side of spicy mayo! Our first time trying sushi axiom and I can confidently say I'm not impressed. The rolls are $15.95 / $16.95 and are no where worth that. I got the scallop roll as it was a roll I have never had. The roll itself was good but the scallops on top had no sear to them so the texture was quite slimy. My fiancé got the crab roll and it was good There was a yellow layer on top that we couldn't figure out what it was, it didn't have any flavor to it but looked like melted cheese. We got to 3 star this place. Service from our waitress Zoe was excellent. But the sushi was just very uninspiring. Really bad presentation, muddled flavors, really just rolls cut up and place on a plate with no real sense of pride. It's out first time having sushi in Texas so maybe this is just how it is. Also the salad with ginger dressing was 6 dollars and maybe 1/4 handful of bagged mixed greens in a puddle of liquid. This was a major miss for Axiom. We probably won't be back but did really enjoy the service and speed with which the food came out. read more
