This buffet is very good! I'm not sure why it has three stars, I did not see anything in the Restaurant that warranted a three star review. We went to Ocean Buffet about a week ago and had a terrible experience. Tonight, we couldn't think of what to eat but wanted Asian food, then remembered AA China Super Buffet (funny name but whatever). It's like the tried-and-true buffet restaurant for us. My family I have been dining at AA China Super Buffet for a couple of years, and it's always been pretty good, usually lunch or dinner. I cannot tell you how much I love this place. Especially the angel hair Lo Mein, the teriyaki chicken on a stick, and the green beans. My friend and I fill up on 3 good things and we are happy for a month or so. I kidnapped my grown son to bring him here from Euless, TX a couple months ago. He used to love this place when he lived in Crowley. Now I live in Fort Worth but have a friend in Burleson, so I have a good excuse to keep coming here. I like the selection of dessert here. The low rating is because I was uncomfortable with the hibachi meat just sitting out there for a long while. It's also because the other dishes just didn't really taste good? I inspected the place based on other reviews--yes, the sweet and sour sauce is runny. The Oreo ice cream is really quite good with its gelato texture and I enjoyed the fact that there's an entire tray of almond cookies. One thing I saw was that the tongs were very dirty. That's not good because it could contaminate other plates and such, you know? I noticed you all played Christian music and that was cool. Very rare. The employees there were a little bit, well not rude. More like they didn't want to be there, which was fair. It does seem like an old restaurant but it seems more quaint than dilapidated. Except for the old rice cooker, which was valiantly trucking along despite it being the newest technology from the 80s. Poor thing. Please take it home and care for it. And replace with a bigger rice cooker. The water tastes bad, but the huge bowl of cantaloupe makes up for it. The star rating on this place is entirely accurate. A few months ago, my grandma wanted to go to GC and so I reluctantly took her and kids. Ever since, my kids keep asking me to take them to a buffet and at first I was like nah, there's better places to spend $50 at. I took them to a few and while I didn't care to go back, they enjoyed it. Teenagers eat like crazy, so it makes sense to take them to a buffet and let them eat until their heart's content without emptying my fridge in one day. We came on a Saturday. I was surprised at how much was on this buffet for Saturday lunch. Crawfish, oysters, clams, prime rib?!! While this is not the greatest prime rib ever. It's not bad for the price. The seafood might not have been the freshest, but it was clean. I did like some of what was offered like the salt and pepper shrimp. The egg drop soup and hot and sour soup were pretty good as well. The sushi I would pass on. My teens enjoyed it, so I would come back to this buffet. read more

The flavors are fresh and bold. The salad / dessert bar is clean and inviting. Both lunch and dinner offer very good value. Fair prices and high quality offerings are the rule of the day. I particularly enjoy the egg foo young and brown gravy offered at lunch... it is perfectly prepared. Food temperatures are always right on and there is an on call chef there to cook a variety of raw items for your selection. Finally, the sushi is outstandingly fresh and well displayed. I order the Shrimp Fried Rice most of the time when I choose delivery. I love the way AA prepares it with lots of Shrimp, and love the onions the way they are done. Of all the Chinese places I've ordered from...AA Chinese Buffet is by far the BEST. I've had the buffet a few times and it's all delicious with so many choices of food. (That's my favorite flavor, and I haven't seen any buffet restaurant that has butter pecan!) Some buffet restaurants do not make me feel welcome at all but it's a totally different experience here. From the homey earth tones decor to the uplifting awesome music to the delicious plethora of food, it's easily become my favorite buffet. I will say though that their servers are not as attentive to my drink as I'd like, just as other people have said. So I ask for a couple of waters and even then I get down to the ice. I recommend asking for at least two drinks, especially if you purchased one (which, btw, this buffet is a little more expensive)! But that's my only complaint. The reviews about flies and bad food and dirty blinds, that is in the past because I come here at least once a month and I have zero issues like that!! I have been loving this place for years. There is a huge variety of foods, both Asian & American cuisine. It's always fresh & staff are at the buffet tables often to add fresh hot food. I love the lo mein, the shrimp dishes, the chicken dishes, crab Rangoon ... There are a lot of foods I don't eat but they look good (like the frog legs, sushi, Mongolian grill). I find more than enough to eat of my favorites. The staff is attentive & friendly. We don't live in the area anymore, but it is worth the two hour drive from Tyler to eat there at least once a month.
